Chapter 247 – Element of Wind
Chapter 247 – Element of Wind
For this Wind Elemental, Punk employed every enhancement method at his disposal: “Metamagic – Mana Compression,” high-level casting materials, ancient Byron incantations. Had he not been holding a Lantern weighing as much as an oversized dumbbell, Punk wouldn’t have omitted even the somatic components.
With all these buffs layered together, the Wind Elemental Punk summoned could truly be called the pinnacle of Formal-Level summoning spells. Even specialized summoners might struggle to conjure such a Wind Elemental during urgent combat.
Under Punk’s anticipatory gaze, an ethereal Wind Elemental finally materialized within the magic circle.
Unlike the bulky, dwarf-giant form of earth elementals, the Wind Elemental took the shape of an elegant maiden. Its height matched Punk’s, though floating mid-air made it appear a head taller.
Turquoise Wind Elemental energy condensed into a substantial wind cloak enveloping the elemental’s crystalline core. Even its energy-formed mask and flowing hair constituted high-strength armor!
Instead of hands and feet, four sharp energy blades extended from its form, their edges shimmering with chilling cold light. These slender, straight turquoise blades had sharp wind edges drifting along their lengths—undoubtedly, this was a magical construct born for slaughter, every part of its body capable of transforming into lethal blades to sever enemy heads!
The moment the Wind Elemental appeared, Punk immediately activated the “Master Amplification Art” from his Lantern.
The Lantern in his hand remained unchanged in appearance, still looking dilapidated and inconspicuous. Yet at that instant, hundreds of multicolored energy ribbons abruptly extended from the Lantern’s flickering wick flame. All ribbons erupted with blinding radiance as they coiled around the newly summoned Wind Elemental beside Punk.
The swirling ribbons instantly merged like liquid into the Wind Elemental’s energy composition upon contact. Close observation would reveal all ribbons transforming into countless luminous threads permeating the elemental’s body. These colorful threads emitted faint glows, adorning the Wind Elemental as if it wore a chromatic wind cloak.
Of course, the colored ribbons provided more than just visual embellishment.
In Punk’s perception, the Wind Elemental’s total energy rapidly surged tier by tier. Even the spell model constituting its core was reinforced by the rainbow energy—each colored thread now functioned as a miniature amplifier. The amplified energy demonstrated significant improvements in both density and operational speed.
If an ordinary Wind Elemental summoned without enhancements could be compared to a special forces soldier, then Punk’s enhanced version was like a cyborg with steel bones. And the Wind Elemental boosted by the “Master Amplification Art” became nothing less than a Terminator—every component enhanced across the board, with attack power and speed far surpassing any ordinary Formal-Level Wind Elemental!Punk estimated that the current Wind Elemental had undoubtedly reached the level of Master-Level fifteen, and in terms of combat prowess, it was among the elite of summoned creatures. Although summoned beings were generally far weaker than true creatures of the same level, in a one-on-one scenario, Punk was confident that this Wind Elemental would at least not lose to a single Fang Wraith summoned by the Soul Shepherd.
Just as Punk completed his spell, a Fang Wraith that was relatively close to him charged into attack range. Seeing the gaping maw of the Fang Wraith lunging at him, Punk felt not fear but delight. If the two wraiths had coordinated their assault, Punk would have had little confidence in gaining an advantage. But with one isolated like this…
“Slice it apart!”
Punk issued the command to the Wind Elemental without hesitation.
However, his own state was far less imposing than his order. The moment the Wind Elemental appeared, the Soul Shepherd’s “Negative Energy Finger” was unleashed without delay, targeting Punk. The Wind Elemental, heedless of its master’s plight, charged at the wraith as commanded, while Punk could only scramble backward with a “Kinetic Ejection” roll, narrowly dodging the “Negative Energy Finger.”
Though this risky evasion was fraught with danger and consumed a significant portion of Punk’s limited mana, it also lightened the Wind Elemental’s burden. For the next three seconds, the Wind Elemental would face only the single Fang Wraith before it, while the Soul Shepherd could only watch helplessly from the sidelines!
A cyan glow erupted as the Wind Elemental whipped up a vortex of energy, its entire form transforming into a bullet-like projectile that shot straight toward the Fang Wraith’s grotesque maw. Its razor-sharp blade extended directly, the chilling intent to cleave everything so intense that merely witnessing it made one’s eyes sting!
Facing the Wind Elemental’s Charge, the Fang Wraith showed no fear. Just as the Wind Elemental would not retreat in the face of an enemy, neither would the Fang Wraith.
Under a low, guttural command in pure Necril from the Soul Shepherd, the other, more distant Fang Wraith once again accelerated by erupting with negative energy. Meanwhile, the Fang Wraith confronting the Wind Elemental recklessly chomped its tooth-filled maw down hard on the Wind Elemental’s slashing arm.
Cyan wind energy flared violently, colliding fiercely with the dense negative energy coating each of the Fang Wraith’s teeth. High-frequency shockwaves transmitted through space, and even though there was no air in the Trial Grounds, the space itself visibly rippled and distorted under the energy impact. At the point of contact between the Wind Elemental’s blade and the Fang Wraith, small patches of space were torn apart, scattering energy fragments mixed with spatial debris to form a spectacle of colorful sparks like fireworks.
Yet, none of the living beings present had the mind to appreciate this deadly beauty.
Under the spatial shockwave, Punk coughed up large mouthfuls of blood. The “Greater Mage Armor” he constantly maintained was now riddled with cracks like shattered glass, and his vomited blood unmistakably contained fragments of internal organs. It had to be admitted: at this moment, he was the most vulnerable creature on the Battlefield. However, the shattering of some unimportant organs was not enough to affect Punk’s cognitive abilities. He coldly glanced at the second Fanged Wraith rushing to provide support, while secretly keeping a close watch on the Soul Shepherd who was about to unleash “Negative Energy Finger” again.
Although Punk was deeply wary of both the Soul Shepherd and the second Fanged Wraith, he did not order his Wind Elemental to retreat. Instead, he issued more detailed and aggressive attack commands!
Upon receiving Punk’s orders, the Wind Elemental immediately abandoned its plan to burst with energy and pull one arm out of the Fanged Wraith’s mouth. It simply ignored the Fanged Wraith that was still tearing at its arm with all its might—after all, for at least two seconds, the Fanged Wraith would be unable to bite through the energy protection layer reinforced by the “Master Amplification Art”!
Following Punk’s commands, the Wind Elemental concentrated its energy at its feet, spun its slender body in place, and thrust its other arm fiercely toward the back of the Fanged Wraith’s neck. The chilling gleam on its blade was aimed directly at the Fanged Wraith’s spell core!
