Chapter 174

Chapter 174

‘Unbеliеvаblе. Did he plаn tо lоsе thе match from thе stаrt?’

Khan stаred at thе unсоnsсiоus Вyutek, gеnuinely sреeсhlеss.

Вуutеk’s Levеl had jumрed by 40 аll аt оnсe from thаt single fight—hоw could anуоne not be stunned?

‘Не just took a Magiс hit, аnd his Level rose that muсh?’

Кhan knew Вyutеk’s Воnе and Muscle tаlent was fаr suреrior to оthеrs.

Аmong the Сharaсters Khan had nurturеd, thеre werе nаturallу those with еxceрtionаl Вone and Musclе.

Hе hаd rаised suсh Charасtеrs for quite а long timе.

‘Nо mаttеr hоw talеntеd in Вonе аnd Muscle, that’s just absurd… How incredibly gifted is Byutek’s Bone and Muscle that taking a Magic hit could raise his Level that drastically?’

Even from the perspective of Khan, an old-timer in <Geo Arc>, the situation was utterly incomprehensible.

‘To be able to raise Levels that easily… I’m jealous.’

Khan was desperate to raise even a single Level, while Byutek’s Level had skyrocketed by 40 in just over ten minutes of fighting.

Moreover, raising Levels becomes several times harder after Level 100. Considering that, Byutek’s Level increase was truly ridiculous.

Meanwhile, Byutek’s Master, Dramos, was smiling so widely it seemed his mouth would reach his ears.

‘That kid who had only ever taken physical attacks… now took Magic like that… He must have achieved tremendous growth this time. I can tell just by looking that his body feels larger than before.’

For those gifted in Bone and Muscle, there are generally two ways to grow.

The first method is taking physical attacks, the second is taking Magic attacks.

Taking Magic attacks leads to even greater growth than taking physical attacks.

Of course, it wasn’t limitless.

‘Magic attacks only allow rapid growth in the early stages; later on, they won’t contribute much to growth. Byutek still has plenty of room to grow further, so it’s fine.’

Dramos still believed Byutek’s growth potential was boundless and was curious how much more he would grow.

Bellua, who had been immediately sent into the Arena after the match ended, was staring at Byutek—who had taken nearly a hundred Lightning Overloads—as if looking at a monster.

“Uh, Unni… I’ll be in your care!! That’s Cure Magic, right? Could I maybe try healing him too?!”

“Huh? You can use it too?”

“Ah, not that… Seeing it up close like this, I think I roughly understand how to use it.”

Bellua was momentarily speechless seeing Sharin speak so nonchalantly.

Normally, she would have been angry, thinking a Mage who knew nothing was pretending to know, but seeing that innocent face say such things was just unbelievable.

‘Being able to use Cure Magic after seeing it just once… Even if one has the makings of an Archmage, that should be absolutely impossible…’

So, without much expectation, Bellua said to Sharin,

“Go ahead and try if you think you can.”

“Ah, yes! Thank you! I think I can help too! I feel so sorry for Byutek Oppa… I feel like I should at least heal him myself…!”

Bellua thought Sharin was overconfident.

Mages around that age tended to believe in their Talent and have excessive confidence.

‘She just used up all her Mana, so there should be none left. Using Magic should be impossible.’

Convinced of this, Bellua didn’t even glance at Sharin and focused intently on healing Byutek.

But then, something astonishing happened right beside her.

Sharin was holding green Mana, identical to Bellua’s, with her hand placed on Byutek’s chest.

‘What the… this girl… Did she just copy it after seeing it once? Hand of Healing?’

Hand of Healing was a 4th-tier Cure Magic, a fairly complex spell.

Moreover, Bellua had chanted the Incantation softly and quickly, making it hard to memorize, yet Sharin had remembered it all and used the same Magic.

“You… are you really using Hand of Healing for the first time?”

“Ah, is this Magic called Hand of Healing?”

“…Yes. You’re a genius. It’s been a while since I’ve seen a Mage more talented than me…”

“Aw, what genius? Compared to my Master, I’m nothing.”

When Sharin said this while looking at Khan, who was standing quietly in the participant Waiting Area, Bellua also briefly turned her gaze toward Khan.

‘Certainly, that man is an overwhelmingly skilled Mage… but I get a different feeling from this girl Sharin. A pure, genius-like feeling regarding Magic.’

Bellua herself had often been called a genius since childhood, but she was witnessing a true genius right before her eyes.

Even though Sharin had clearly used up all her Mana, it was almost fully recovered.

Seeing her casually use Hand of Healing, a 4th-tier Magic, right before her eyes made Bellua think she needed to work hard when she returned to the Magic Tower.

‘The world is indeed vast, and there are many geniuses. Who would have thought I’d meet a Mage more talented than me in such a rural city.’

She had come to Erindel to defeat Lexar and unexpectedly encountered not one, but two geniuses.

Sharin and Khan. Both were Mages with immense Talent and skill.

‘Especially Khan… that man might be even stronger than the Sir Archmages of the Yellow Magic Tower.’

Normally, it would have taken longer, but perhaps because the two worked together, the healing was completed faster than expected.

The moment his body recovered, Byutek opened his eyes and instantly sprang to his feet as if nothing had happened.

“Hahahaha!! I must have dozed off without realizing it! Sharin, you know I went easy on you a lot in this match, right?! Hahahaha! But since you won the match… congratulations! Now that it’s come to this, I hope you go all the way to the finals!”

“What are you talking about? Phew… Really, Oppa, taking hits like that and still being this fine, I really thought you died at the end, you know? Do you know how shocked I was?!”

“Hahahahaha! A man doesn’t flinch at something like this! Ah, thank you for healing me, Administrator-nim.”

“Not at all. This is my job, after all. You may now leave the Arena.”

“Yes!”

After expressing his gratitude to Bellua, Byutek descended from the Arena with Sharin.

“Good work, both of you.”

“Hahaha! Unfortunately, I lost, Hyungnim!”

“Yes…”

While Byutek laughed heartily and shouted, Sharin was somewhat subdued, feeling guilty for having hurt Byutek.

“Sharin, in a duel, it’s inevitable that the opponent gets hurt, so don’t dwell on it too much. And Byutek has a sturdy body, so that much wouldn’t even faze him.”

“Hahahaha! That’s right, Sharin. How long are you planning to stay like that?! Cheer up now!”

“Ah… Yes!!”

When Khan said that, Sharin finally smiled and shook off her worries.

Then, Khan began asking Sharin something he was curious about.

“But Sharin, when on earth did you learn Lightning Overload?”

“Ah, Lightning Overload? I just learned it by watching when I fought Unni Silvia?”

“…I see. Well done.”

Khan had somewhat anticipated it after seeing Sharin copy Bellua’s Hand of Healing earlier, but even seeing and hearing it directly, it was hard to believe.

‘If she can use Magic just by seeing and hearing the Incantation… that’s an absurdly broken character, isn’t it?’

In a way, Sharin might have an even better Hidden Skill than Khan.

For example, perhaps she had a Skill like ‘Skill Replication.’

“Now, we will begin the third match of the quarterfinals! This match is……”

While Khan was having such thoughts, the third quarterfinal match proceeded.

As for the third match, neither participant was particularly strong, so he wasn’t very interested.

‘By the way, if I had bet my entire fortune on Sharin and Byutek’s match, I would have almost lost everything. That was really close. I should thank Rodion.’

If Rodion hadn’t changed the betting rules, Khan would have inevitably lost all his money.

‘This is why you shouldn’t get greedy with gambling or investments; you should pull out when you’ve made a decent profit.’

Thanks to Rodion, Khan was able to pull out when he had made a decent profit.

“Phew, now I can finally breathe a sigh of relief. It’s fortunate that we’re starting to see considerable profits from now on.”

Aldrik, who had been watching the match while drinking wine in the VIP seat, muttered to himself.

“Khan, I don’t know what he was betting on or what he believed in… but if he had kept betting, my money would have been ruined.”

He had invested quite a lot of money to host this tournament, so he needed to generate significant revenue from betting.

Fortunately, after blocking the participants’ bets, profits were gradually starting to accumulate.

Aldrik thought it was truly fortunate that he had noticed midway.

“Kheukheukheuk… It’s good that I paid attention quickly.”

Aldrik believed his decision was perfect.

However, he had no idea what Khan was feeling right now.

“The third match was nothing special. It was a boring match between unremarkable guys.”

Before he knew it, the third match had ended, and the fourth match was about to begin.

After taking a sip of wine, Aldrik widened his eyes and focused as the fourth match started.

The participant in the fourth match was none other than Dramos, whom he most wished would lose.

* * *

“Now, we will begin the final match of the quarterfinals!”

The final quarterfinal match was between Dramos and a Swordsman named Zik.

[LV.121 Wandering Swordsman Zik]

Zik was a high-Level Swordsman, but not comparable to Dramos.

As soon as Rodion announced the start of the match, the countdown began.

The moment the countdown ended, Zik charged at Dramos first.

Simultaneously, he tried to swing his sword, but Dramos’s sword pierced Zik’s stomach faster.

The match ended in less than a second.

“Wh-what? It ended instantly again?!”

“I didn’t see anything…?”

“Wait, that Dramos person… isn’t he insanely strong…?!”

The audience also seemed to be gradually noticing Dramos’s strength.

Khan couldn’t properly understand what had just happened in this match either.

‘Unbelievably strong… How on earth are you supposed to defeat a monster like that?’

Just as he was feeling suffocated while looking at Dramos.

‘This is…?!’

Suddenly, a message appeared before Khan’s eyes.

I guess the main quest prompt would say “defeat Dramos and you’ll get humongous amount of experience points, level up, and obtain a new skill selection ticket”.
