Chapter 96
Chapter 96
Lехаr, а mage frоm thе Yеllоw Мagic Tоwеr.
His Levеl would be аt lеаst оvеr 100.
Nо, thinking calmlу, it would be оvеr Levеl 200.
‘Sinсе thе lеvels оf the thugs hе keeрs аrоund wеre well оver 70… it’s оnly natural.’
Whilе brоwsing the scrolls inside Еddу’s shop, Khan pоndеred deeply аbоut which scrоlls he wоuld nееd whеn fighting Lexar.
‘Tо kill such a mоnstrоus guу at my сurrеnt lеvel… I’ll havе to push thrоugh somehow with scrоlls аnd items.’
Chесking the sсrolls hanging оn the wall, therе didn’t seеm tо be anything as useful аs he hаd thоught.
Тhen Еddy aррrоachеd Khаn аnd sаid.
“Рrоbablу nоnе of thе sсrolls hanging on the wall will be to Sir Khan’s liking. I do have a few separately stored away… would you like to see them?”
“Sure.”
As Khan nodded and answered, Eddy began removing the scrolls hanging on the wall one by one with his hands.
Then a brick wall appeared, and Eddy pressed firmly on one of the bricks.
Rumble.
As if a ripple spread from the brick Eddy pushed, the bricks moved as if by magic.
Rumble… rumble…!
‘Alchemy, I see.’
Among alchemists, it was common to apply alchemy to their shops or items like this, so Khan could recognize it immediately.
He had seen such sights through the monitor screen when he played <Geo Arc> too.
“Ooh! So this is applying alchemy to objects…!”
“Wow, I’m seeing this for the first time too! It’s even more amazing than magic!”
“Haha. It’s nothing special. Anyone with some knowledge of alchemy can do this much.”
Byutek and Sharin also seemed to have noticed it was alchemy upon seeing the bricks move.
After all, in this world now, for such nonsensical things to happen, it could only be magic or alchemy.
‘This is nothing special?’
Khan narrowed his eyes and watched Eddy being excessively humble.
To reach this level with alchemy would require immense effort and time.
Unless one was a born genius, reaching this level itself would be impossible.
‘Come to think of it… it might indeed be nothing special for Eddy.’
Clearly, within <Geo Arc>, Eddy was an NPC with the title of genius alchemist.
“From now on, it becomes stairs leading downward, so please follow me carefully.”
“Sure.”
Step. Step. Step.
Khan, Byutek, and Sharin followed Eddy down the stairs of the hidden passage.
After about five minutes, when they had descended all the stairs, a door stood alone.
Creak.
As Eddy opened the door, inside was a small space of about 4 pyeong with a single desk.
On the desk were five rolled-up scrolls.
“These scrolls… are the most outstanding ones among the scrolls I’ve made so far. Most of the scrolls I had were taken by that Lexar guy… but I kept the best ones separately stored.”
“May I look?”
“Of course! You may use all these scrolls as you wish!”
The supreme scrolls made by Eddy.
Scrolls with such tremendous efficacy that they would be hard to convert into money.
‘These… if used well, I could easily defeat that Lexar guy, couldn’t I?’
If he used Eddy’s supreme scrolls well, Khan was confident he could fight and win even against adventurers or mages with Levels in the hundreds.
‘The problem is what kind of scrolls these are.’
[Item: Eddy’s Supreme Stealth Scroll]
-
Item Rank: Unique
-
Level Restriction: 250
-
Item Effect: When the scroll is used, supreme-rank Stealth Magic is activated. Supreme stealth cannot be detected by any detection magic.
[Item: Eddy’s Supreme Body Enhancement Scroll]
-
Item Rank: Unique
-
Level Restriction: 250
-
Item Effect: When the scroll is used, supreme-rank Body Enhancement Magic is activated.
Checking the scrolls one by one, their performance was truly unbelievably excellent.
However, there was one problem.
‘The Level Restriction… is 250.’
Actually, this was partly why Khan hadn’t relied much on scrolls until now.
Even scrolls with slightly better performance had Level Restrictions for use.
‘First, I should check the rest too.’
He checked the remaining scrolls beside them.
There was a possibility that there might be a scroll Khan could use immediately.
‘Though slim…’
Since Eddy introduced these as his masterpiece scrolls, most would likely have Level Restrictions.
And quite high ones at that.
[Item: Eddy’s Supreme Acceleration Scroll]
-
Item Rank: Unique
-
Level Restriction: 250
-
Item Effect: When the scroll is used, supreme Acceleration Magic is activated.
Supreme Acceleration Scroll.
This was something Khan had used even when playing the game.
‘The Supreme Acceleration Scroll is a magic where when used, movement becomes so fast that even controlling oneself is difficult…’
From Khan’s memory, a User over Level 500 had lost in PVP against a Level 250 User who used a Supreme Acceleration Scroll.
‘If only I could use this, I could easily clear the next Quest… too bad.’
He immediately began checking the next scroll.
[Item: Eddy’s Supreme Concentration Enhancement Scroll]
-
Item Rank: Unique
-
Level Restriction: 250
-
Item Effect: When the scroll is used, supreme-rank Concentration Enhancement Magic is activated. While in supreme Concentration Enhancement state, the power of the next magic used increases by 10,000%.
Supreme Concentration Enhancement Scroll.
This was a scroll even Khan was seeing for the first time, and its performance was incredible.
‘Using the Supreme Concentration Enhancement Scroll increases the power of the next skill by 100 times…’
If this scroll were used during a battle with a boss-level Monster, it could probably defeat the boss-level Monster in a single strike.
‘If I had my way… I’d really want to use it right now.’
It seemed to pair well with the skill Khan currently possessed, ‘Dragon’s Breath,’ but Khan’s current Level was 39.
To reach Level 250 would take at least a few months, possibly even years.
“Master, these are all incredible scrolls, aren’t they?! I can feel a strangely abundant Mana from them! I’ve never felt anything like this from other scrolls…”
“I know, so be quiet, Sharin.”
“Ah, y-yes…! Sorry!”
Khan’s Mana Sensitivity was relatively low, so he couldn’t tell if these scrolls were amazing.
However, since he had the Status Window ability, he could check the information of items he looked at closely in text form.
‘Now the last one, I guess.’
There was only one scroll left unchecked.
Since it was obvious it would have a Level Restriction anyway, Khan checked the last scroll without any expectations.
[Item: Eddy’s Supreme Reset Scroll]
-
Item Rank: Unique
-
Level Restriction: 1
-
Item Effect: When the scroll is used, supreme-rank Reset Magic is activated. When supreme-rank Reset Magic is used, all skill cooldowns possessed by the caster are reset.
Perhaps because he had no expectations at all.
As soon as Khan checked the information of the last scroll, he couldn’t help but be startled.
[Skill ‘Sage’s Heart’ has been activated.]
Just as a laugh was about to burst from his lips, ‘Sage’s Heart’ activated, and his emotions instantly calmed.
Supreme Reset Scroll.
Checking the item effect, it was similar to the ‘Sage’s Heart’ skill Khan possessed.
The Rank 10 Hidden Skill ‘Sage’s Heart’ had various effects including complete mental-type immunity and cooldown reset, but it wasn’t omnipotent.
‘With Sage’s Heart, skills with long cooldowns are not completely reset.’
What would happen if he used Eddy’s Supreme Reset Scroll?
Khan’s personal thought was that even skills with extremely long cooldowns might disappear entirely.
Perhaps noticing Khan’s momentary wide-eyed expression.
Eddy, who had been quietly watching Khan until now, cautiously spoke to him.
“H-How do they look to Sir Khan? You can consider these scrolls as my masterpieces among masterpieces, each taking years to make. I can’t personally verify their performance… but they are scrolls into which my alchemy has been perfectly infused.”
“Splendid.”
“Huh…?”
“Very splendid scrolls. Did you say I can use all of these?”
“O-Of course! If they help Sir Khan, you may use them all!”
Eddy was making an expression as if he was happier than anyone else upon seeing Khan’s reaction.
Even though Khan hadn’t yet defeated Lexar and rescued his sister Sophia.
‘Until now, no mage I’ve met could use them, and they couldn’t even figure out what abilities were contained. Yet Sir Khan noticed it at once…’
It was true.
While running his alchemy shop, Eddy had met numerous adventurers, knights, and mages.
And he had specifically shown these scrolls to guests who looked strong, asking if they could identify them.
‘I couldn’t ask the Archmages of the Magic Tower… but even the mages of the Kingdom of Sinsiniel said they didn’t know what kind of scrolls these were.’
As Eddy was having such thoughts, Khan began picking up the scrolls one by one with his hands.
“Then I’ll use these well to defeat Lexar.”
Khan looked at Eddy as he put the scrolls into his Spatial Pocket.
‘But… can you really use these scrolls?’
He knew Khan was a powerful mage.
But was he truly stronger than all those powerful mages he had met until now?
‘Since I wanted to know what kind of scrolls they were anyway… I should ask.’
Eddy couldn’t know the effects of these scrolls he had made at all.
Because high-performance scrolls like these manifested their performance randomly.
“B-But Sir Khan, do you perhaps know what effects these scrolls have? Until now, every mage who saw these scrolls said they couldn’t tell the effects.”
As Eddy cautiously asked, Khan looked at him.
Then Khan slowly opened his mouth.
“Of course.”
