Chapter 139 – We're Family (Part Four)

The staff member offered an apologetic smile. “I’m sorry, but tomorrow’s screenings are fully booked as well.”

Like a bolt from the blue!

It struck Ye Lanshan utterly dumbfounded.

Was he still dreaming, or had the world gone utterly absurd? Or was this staff member just pulling his leg??

There must be hidden cameras around, right? Prank shows like this were seriously not funny at all!!

Ye Lanshan’s handsome face twisted slightly.

“Bro, not done yet? Why’s buying tickets so complicated?”

Ye Wanjia removed her earphones and leaned in, instantly spotting the fully booked screen.

Holy crap, not a single seat left?!

“Does… does this really need our whole family to show support?”

“…………”

“Then get me tickets for the day after!”

Ye Lanshan was determined—he had to get those tickets!!

“Um, sorry, but this entire week is fully booked. Perhaps you could come earlier next week?”

Ye Wanjia & Ye Lanshan: …………

“Bro, what do we do now?”

Ye Wanjia was at a loss. Dad told them to show support, but they couldn’t even buy tickets!

“Let me think.”

Ye Lanshan turned around and spotted Ye Wanting. Her leg hadn’t fully recovered yet, but she no longer needed a cane and was slowly shuffling along on her own.

“One ticket for ‘Ambush,’ please.”

“Sorry, all tickets for this week are sold out. Please try again next week.”

The same reply. Ye Lanshan knew there was no way they could show support for this screening.

Ye Wanting clearly hadn’t expected this either. Her face darkened as she squeezed out of the line, only to meet Ye Lanshan’s gaze head-on.

“What are you staring at?!”

Ye Lanshan yawned lazily and turned away. “Well, it’s so popular there’s nothing to worry about. Wanjia, let’s go home and sleep.”

Ye Wanjia tugged at Ye Lanshan’s sleeve. “We should call Dad first, so he doesn’t blame us for not showing support.”

As for Ye Wanting, neither of them liked her anyway, so it was best to just ignore her.

Two nearly identical faces both chose to ignore Ye Wanting, infuriating her to no end.

“What’s taking so long to buy tickets?”

Ye Junlai hurried over, carrying drinks and snacks. He looked nothing like someone here to watch a movie—more like he was on a picnic.

After all, he hadn’t planned on seriously watching the film anyway.

“Can’t get any. We have to wait until next week, and even then, we’ll need to come early.”

“What the hell? This crappy movie requires waiting until next week?” Ye Junlai found it unbelievable. He pushed his way to the counter to ask, only to receive the same answer.

What the actual fuck!

Ye Junlai was utterly shocked. What the hell was going on here?

He’d come to mock the situation, but damn, he suddenly felt like he was the biggest joke standing there!

“Dad, let’s go!”

Ye Wanting didn’t want to stay a moment longer.

“Hey, hey, no need to rush off!”

Ye Lanshan blocked their path, his eyes still heavy with sleep. “My dad said we should wait a bit longer. He mentioned someone will be here soon to deliver tickets to us!”

Deliver tickets?!

Ye Wanting and Ye Junlai exchanged glances, both sensing that waiting would only lead to trouble.

“No, we’re leaving now.”

Ye Junlai tried to leave but was stopped by a petite figure.

“Uncle, weren’t you here to support my dad? Why leave in such a hurry?”

Ye Yunxi stood smiling before them, her long hair cascading like silk, her eyes brimming with amusement—stunningly beautiful.

But Ye Junlai was in no mood to appreciate it. Instead, he grew increasingly uneasy.

Whenever this little good-for-nothing showed up, nothing good ever followed! The fact proved that although Ye Junlai wasn’t much of a person, his sixth sense was quite accurate.

Hadn’t she, Ye Yunxi, come today precisely to disgust them??
