Wang Zaihao’s gaze grew increasingly venomous. Zhuang Ge trembled all over, sweating profusely, but he still had no choice but to make the call to Ye Yunxi.

“Hello…”

His trembling voice made Ye Yunxi frown slightly.

“What happened?”

If even Zhuang Ge was this terrified, it definitely wasn’t something minor.

“Th-that… my boss wants to see you…”

Brother Hao must have some purpose for catching him, though he didn’t know what it was. Many of the brothers took private jobs on the side, so it probably wasn’t just because of that.

Zhuang Ge grew increasingly uneasy.

The voice on the other end remained calm throughout. Zhuang Ge could only stammer out the address, then respectfully hand the phone to Wang Zaihao.

Wang Zaihao was in his early forties, with a square face, dark complexion, and crew cut. His eyes weren’t large, but they shone with fierce intensity, giving him an imposing presence.

Zhuang Ge didn’t dare meet his gaze, could only bow his head and pray.

Time passed minute by minute, and the sweat on Zhuang Ge’s head kept increasing.

Making the call but her not coming could only mean Zhuang Ge wasn’t important – at best, he was like trash that could be discarded at will.

Zhuang Ge’s face darkened. Part of him wanted Ye Yunxi to come, part of him didn’t want her to come.

Seeing his timid demeanor, Brother Hao snorted with laughter and stood up to leave.

He knew the person he was waiting for wasn’t coming.

“You summoned me here, yet you’re leaving yourself. So the legendary Brother Hao who strikes fear in the underworld actually enjoys toying with juniors. Tsk tsk, quite an eye-opener for me.”

The lazy voice made Zhuang Ge look up joyfully – the Young Miss had actually come! She came for him!

But this place was too dangerous. Why did you have to come alone!

Zhuang Ge started worrying again.

Wang Zaihao paused mid-step, turning back with a fierce glare. When he saw who it was, he was slightly taken aback.

He thought Ye Yunxi would be some notable figure, but she was thin and small. Quite pretty, but clearly still a kid!

Wang Zaihao sneered: “Little girl, if you know my reputation then you should know the rules. Besides that, did no one teach you any manners?”

From their very first encounter, the atmosphere between them was already tense enough to ignite at the slightest spark.

Zhuang Ge’s face turned green!

Young Miss! You’re like my own sister! How can you talk to Brother Hao like that!!

This is really going to cause trouble!!

However, Ye Yunxi didn’t seem to care. She smiled as she pulled over a chair, calmly sat down, and brushed back her jet-black hair.

“People with different principles can’t work together. Since Brother Hao invited me here, why not speak plainly?”Ye Yunxi had no time for idle talk with him. She knew these people well—they never rose early without profit. Detaining Zhuang Ge to threaten her was merely for the sake of gain.

Observing her composure, indifference, and dignified demeanor, Wang Zaihao marveled inwardly.
