Chapter 52 – Contract Couple (Part One)
Chapter 52 – Contract Couple (Part One)
People at the school gate gazed longingly at the departing luxury car, while Wang Tingting and Sun Chao stood there in stunned silence.
“Why do I suddenly feel that if we follow Yunxi, we’ll definitely get into Jun Yao?”
“I feel the same…”
They rubbed their faces, desperately trying to return to reality.
With their current grades, there was absolutely no way they could get into Jun Yao. Both of them had been eliminated from the competition by Ye Wanting, and Sun Chao was even injured – these were all demerits. Yet Ye Yunxi was only second to last herself. Perhaps she really had a way.
“Then let’s work hard and film this drama well!”
“Mm, let’s go!”
After parking the car, Di Junxie gazed indifferently at the scenery outside the window.
He remained silent, and Ye Yunxi didn’t speak either. This was the seaside, perfect for enjoying the view, especially during this twilight hour when the magnificent sunset dyed the sea orange-red, incredibly beautiful.
After a long while, Ye Yunxi opened the car door and stepped out.
The sea breeze played with her jet-black hair as the sun sank below the horizon, turning the orange-red into a vast expanse of blue-purple. The girl in school uniform wore a faint smile at the corner of her lips, radiant and captivating.
Before he knew it, Di Junxie’s gaze had completely fallen upon her, from her fair skin to her straight, delicate nose.
Realizing what he was doing, Di Junxie frowned and also opened the car door to step out.
“I hope you’ll consider what happened this morning.”
He took out a cigarette, lowering his head to light one.
Even this simple action carried an air of rugged dominance when he performed it. When he looked up, swirling smoke blurred his sharp, profound eyes, making him irresistibly alluring in that moment.
Tch, why did a man have to be like walking hormones, so utterly tempting?
Ye Yunxi’s pink fingertips brushed through the stray hairs at her temples, tucking the silky strands behind her ears.
“My family’s tradition is to do everything early – finding a fiancée early too. But I don’t want to get married yet, so it would just be a contract. What do you think?”
“Why don’t you want to get married?”
With Di Junxie’s qualifications, never mind marriage – people would probably have been fighting over him even before he was born.
“I’ve said it before – Yan Country is still weak. Until it becomes a strong nation, I will never marry!”
The man slightly raised his head, his dark eyes piercing through the swaying strands of hair to gaze at the profound sea. The sunset had completely sunk, leaving the seaside in dim twilight.
At this moment, the man exuded a oppressive aura, as if he were the most iron-willed man in the world.
In that instant, the passion in Ye Yunxi’s bones was summoned forth!
Following the man’s gaze, she too looked toward the profound sea and asked in return: “Then, what would make it strong?”
The man raised his head, his neck forming a taut curve as he slightly opened his mouth to exhale a cloud of smoke.
Shrouded in mist, the man’s posture was both sensual and exceptionally resolute. He looked up at the heavens, his handsome face cold, hard, and bloodthirsty.
“Warfare is a grave matter of state. It is the ground of death and life, the path of survival and extinction. Only when we can pacify the nation within and resist foreign aggression without can we be considered strong!”
“Excellent!”
Ye Yunxi couldn’t help but exclaim in admiration!
What magnificent words – only when we can pacify the nation within and resist foreign aggression without can we be considered strong!
She instinctively felt exhilarated, as if something that had been suppressed for a lifetime could finally be joyfully released in this life, making her feel incredibly refreshed!
This was true strength!
The people of Yan Country enjoyed peace and stability within their borders, but what about when they stepped beyond their national gates??
She had seen too much, she understood that humiliation.Able to bring peace within and resist foreign aggression—that is true strength!
Di Junxie, I underestimated you. Not bad at all!
