Chapter 19: With Fists Like Casserole Pots, Teaching You to Be a Pig Again!

Volume 1 “Year of Calamity”

Forgetting pain, forgetting death. The thrill of battle is the zero-distance experience of teetering between life and death, the excitement of facing an unknown fate!

An Sheng had entered a peculiar state. His body grew increasingly powerful amidst continuous injuries and recovery, while his blood-colored pheromones enveloped a radius of dozens of meters like boiling steam. The blood-colored pheromones he emitted completely suppressed the Pig-Head Monster. For him now, this was sublimation, a qualitative leap!

This battle was purely a clash of beasts. Neither side employed any moves—it was a straightforward contest of endurance to see who could hold out until the end.

Clearly, judging by the current state of the fight, An Sheng had gained the upper hand. His monstrous regenerative ability allowed his wounds to heal at a visible rate. In contrast, the Pig-Head Monster was in an utterly wretched state.

Covered in brown blood, one arm hung limply, while three gaping wounds over ten centimeters long on its bloated belly gushed blood uncontrollably. Its left eyeball dangled from its face, swinging like a pendulum with every movement. Even with the intelligence of a human child aged four or five, the Pig-Head Monster knew it was doomed.

Letting out a roar of defiance at An Sheng, the Pig-Head Monster turned and attempted to flee. But An Sheng, consumed by battle rage, would not let it escape. He dashed forward in pursuit, picking up the Cleaver the monster had discarded along the way.

Under the Butcher’s leadership, several survivors fought desperately and managed to defend the box truck. They owed their success to Old Zhang and the others who had arrived as reinforcements. The power of the Molotov Cocktails was truly remarkable—each Incendiary Bomb wiped out hordes of Zombies, significantly easing the pressure on the besieged group led by the Butcher. Just as victory seemed within reach, the massive Pig-Head Monster roared and charged out from the ruins by the street.

Old Zhang and the others were startled. They had already exhausted all their efforts dealing with the ordinary Zombies—they stood no chance against an aberration like the Pig-Head Monster.

But before despair could set in, they noticed something odd about the monster. The Pig-Head Monster paid no attention to the humans before it and instead ran straight toward the distant town. To their astonishment, the creature was covered in wounds, large and small.

What was going on? Was the monster fleeing for its life?!

Yes, it was indeed fleeing for its life. Shortly after the Pig-Head Monster emerged from the ruins, An Sheng in his Demon Form rushed out, dragging the massive Cleaver behind him.

“Don’t run! I’m going to finish you off!”

While chasing, An Sheng shouted at the fleeing Pig-Head Monster. The only response was the monster’s piercing shriek, as An Sheng hurled the Cleaver in his hand, striking the Pig-Head Monster squarely on the head.

The blow sent the Pig-Head Monster tumbling face-first—or more accurately, snout-first—into the ground. Seizing the opportunity while the monster was down, An Sheng leaped onto its back. What followed was a relentless barrage of Iron Fists raining down on the Pig-Head Monster.

“Thud, thud…” Fists the size of casserole pots pummeled the monster’s head without respite. As he struck, An Sheng roared curses at the top of his lungs.”Goddammit, let’s see you run now!”

“Thump!”

“Goddammit, let’s see you eat people now!”

“Thump!?”

“Goddammit, let’s see you stay this ugly!”

……..

If the Pig-Head Monster still had the mood to listen to An Sheng’s cursing, he’d probably be fuming – it wasn’t his fault he was born ugly!

The bizarre scene of someone pummeling the Pig-Head Monster left all the survivors utterly dumbfounded. The monster howled miserably under the beating, and some even saw tears streaming from its eyes – it was truly pitiful.

There’s a saying about “getting beaten into a pig’s head,” though it was unclear whether this scene perfectly embodied that phrase.

“Ugh ugh”

After countless punches, An Sheng finally snapped out of his frenzied state when he heard unusual sounds coming from the monster beneath him. He looked curiously at the creature he was straddling – it was actually crying its eyes out like a human!

“What the hell are you crying for?” An Sheng felt both annoyed and amused that this mutated monster could display such human-like behavior.

The pig-faced monster slowly turned its head, its remaining single eye gazing resentfully at An Sheng. The look resembled that of an abused wife, sending chills down An Sheng’s spine and raising goosebumps all over his body.

“If you keep looking at me like that, I’ll beat your other eye out too!”Sensing An Sheng’s threat, the Pig-Head Monster actually ducked its head like a human would, turning away aggrievedly, not daring to look at An Sheng anymore.” However, the monster’s next move left An Sheng even more bewildered. The creature actually knelt down and began worshiping An Sheng.

“Holy shit, you… what do you mean by this?” An Sheng jumped back in alarm. What kind of bizarre move was this?!

“You… strong… you… master!” the Pig-Head Monster mumbled from its prostrate position. With its limited intelligence, it was doing its best to express submission.

Survival of the fittest – this is nature’s iron law. Even after mutating into monsters, they couldn’t escape this rule.

Among many animal groups, fights often occur between members competing for leadership. After one defeats another, it’s normal for the loser to submit to the winner – this happens in wolf packs, lion prides, monkey troops, and many others.

An Sheng had defeated the Pig-Head Monster with his strength, so it naturally chose to submit to him. This was both animal instinct and survival strategy – the monster knew that without submission, it would be killed by its opponent. An Sheng had successfully used his fist-sized fists to teach this monster how to be human again – or rather, how to be a proper pig again!

An Sheng felt conflicted. He didn’t know how to deal with this monster. It was because of its appearance that the convoy had lost many people earlier. For that reason alone, even chopping it into pieces might not satisfy people’s hatred.

But then again, if he could truly tame such a monster, the safety of the survivors in the Tube-Style Apartment Building would improve significantly. From this perspective, keeping the Pig-Head Monster might be a good choice.

“What do you usually eat? Only humans?”This was An Sheng’s greatest concern. If the Pig-Head Monster’s diet consisted solely of humans, An Sheng wouldn’t hesitate to end its life.

As if understanding An Sheng’s meaning, the Pig-Head Monster stood up and pointed its thick fingers toward the zombies nearby, earnestly conveying its thoughts.

“Meat, can eat.”

After speaking, it pointed toward the living humans standing on the cargo containers and continued: “Fresh ones, taste better.”

An Sheng raised his hand and punched its pig head, growling a warning: “No eating fresh ones from now on! Or I’ll slaughter you! Understood?”

The Pig-Head Monster ducked its head from the blow, looking at An Sheng with a pitiful expression while nodding desperately.

“Alright, you’ll follow me from now on. By the way, do you have a name?”

The Pig-Head Monster gazed blankly at An Sheng – it truly had no concept of what a “name” meant. Seeing its expression, An Sheng knew he was casting pearls before swine – no, playing the lute to a pig.

“From now on I’ll call you Pighead Three, remember that?”

This time the Pig-Head Monster seemed to understand, nodding with a serious expression.

The situation with Butcher had stabilized. The Molotov Cocktails had eliminated most of the zombies surrounding the container truck, and with their advantageous position, Butcher and the others only needed time to deal with the remaining ones.

An Sheng gave his newly acquired subordinate its first command: help Butcher and the others eliminate those zombies. The Pig-Head Monster stood up and picked up the massive Cleaver. Though its injuries made it look miserable, its size and strength remained formidable. Dealing with those ordinary zombies would be effortless even if its injuries were ten times worse.
