Chapter 68: Touch My Man and You’re Dead!

Chapter 68: Touch My Man and You're Dead!

Volume 1 “Year of Calamity”

Fang Yi, hovering mid-air, watched Xun Lili charging toward Pighead Three with some surprise. She hadn’t noticed this girl until now, only realizing at this moment that this girl with physical strength far surpassing ordinary people actually possessed the same black eyes as her. Could she be a Purifier? But why was the Deification Factor within her so faint? Moreover, why would a Purifier stay with these lowly insects! It was precisely due to these numerous questions that Fang Yi didn’t immediately attack Xun Lili.

“Are you a Purifier?” Fang Yi flew down to block Xun Lili’s path, simultaneously canceling her Energy Transformation form, examining her curiously.

Xun Lili completely ignored her. Having finally waited for this opponent to descend from the air to the ground, this was the perfect opportunity to attack! She immediately swung her saber straight at Fang Yi’s head.

Fang Yi dodged Xun Lili’s attack with a swift movement, angrily shouting: “Stop! We’re the same kind, do you know this is betrayal?”

“I’d rather be shit than the same as you! I’ll chop up this damn bitch!”

This was probably the foulest language Xun Lili had ever used in her life. Though Xun Lili was a Martial Artist with a combative nature and some Young Miss temperament, she was extremely well-mannered and never used profanity. But this situation was different – the Purifier before her was slaughtering her companions and family! She could only watch helplessly, powerless to stop it. If the filthiest, most vicious language could kill the person before her, she wouldn’t mind becoming a hysterical shrew!

Fang Yi seemed particularly sensitive to being called a “damn bitch,” instantly flying into a rage. No longer caring whether they were the same kind, she immediately shot a lightning bolt at Xun Lili.

Xun Lili didn’t possess An Sheng’s recovery ability, nor was she as tough-skinned as Pighead Three, but she was a Semi-Purifier, her body possessing most characteristics of a Purifier, just without superpowers. The Purifier’s superpowers and source of strength come from the Deification Factor within their bodies – this power also existed within Xun Lili. So although Fang Yi’s attack caused her some injury, it was much less severe compared to others.

When the lightning struck Xun Lili, she thought she was done for, especially with the examples of An Sheng and Pighead Three right before her. However, after the numbness and burning sensation passed, Xun Lili discovered she wasn’t dead and hadn’t sustained serious injuries, only feeling some pain.

Discovering that her opponent’s attacks had minimal effect on her, Xun Lili felt sudden joy rising in her heart, while malicious intent grew in her mind! What followed would be her moment of revenge.

Xun Lili came from a martial arts family whose legacy martial art was Tongbei Fist. But Martial Artists aren’t only proficient in fist and foot techniques – their weapon skills are even more formidable. The saber technique Xun Lili used was derived from Tongbei Fist, named: White Ape Tiangang Saber! The authentic Tiangang Saber is larger and longer than ordinary sabers. The White Ape Tongbei Tiangang Saber Technique, due to its lack of cumbersome moves like wrapping the head or coiling the brain, shortens the saber’s movement path while increasing attack speed, making it more suitable for actual combat. Xun Lili was the cream of the crop among the martial artists of their school, especially after her body mutated, allowing her to wield the “Eight-Step Thirteen Slashes” from the White Ape Tongbei Tiangang Saber with unparalleled mastery!

Unfortunately, even with such exquisite saber skills and wielding a high-tech sharp weapon, she still posed no threat to Fang Yi. First, in terms of speed, Xun Lili had no advantage whatsoever. As a Purifier, Fang Yi had awakened the power of lightning after her Sublimation, which she named—Thunderclap!

Let’s set aside the immense destructive power of lightning for now. The speed of those who possess lightning abilities is absolutely worthy of the word “terrifying.” We can cite a few examples from films and anime: such as the Raikage, Kakashi, and Sasuke from Naruto; or the Flash from Hollywood movies. These are all superpowered individuals or warriors with lightning abilities, and they share one common trait: extreme speed!

Thus, even though Xun Lili’s attacks were absolutely sharp and immensely powerful, she simply couldn’t land a hit on Fang Yi’s body.

“I’m warning you for the last time, stop right now! We are of the same kind!” Though furious, as one of the same kind, mutual slaughter among Purifiers was forbidden by the Emissary. Of course, that so-called Emissary they spoke of probably never expected an outlier like Xun Lili to emerge within the Purifier group.

Xun Lili’s response to Fang Yi was still the same phrase: “Bullshit we’re the same kind, you damn bitch!”

“Stubborn fool! Then, traitor, go die! Spear of Judgment!”

Fang Yi’s body instantly underwent Energy Transformation, and at the same time, she condensed the move that had severely injured An Sheng—the Spear of Judgment. Since Purifiers all possess the Deification Factor within them, ordinary Purifier abilities are not very effective against their own kind. But when a Purifier reaches the Advanced Purifier Rank and transforms into an energy Incarnation, the offensive effects are in a completely different league compared to ordinary superpower attacks.

Fang Yi aimed the tip of the Spear of Judgment at Xun Lili’s head. If this strike hit its mark, given Xun Lili’s half-baked Purifier Physique, she would be utterly unable to withstand it. But with her current speed, dodging lightning was pure nonsense. Xun Lili thought to herself that she was doomed this time. However, she also knew it was inevitable, as these monsters would never spare anyone in Yushan Fortress.

With such thoughts in mind, and influenced by An Sheng, Nie Chong, and Pighead Three, Xun Lili had already prepared herself to die on the battlefield. As the Spear of Judgment left Fang Yi’s palm and flew toward her, she closed her eyes in resignation, awaiting death.

“Boom!” A massive explosion occurred when the Spear of Judgment struck its target. The shockwave from the blast, carrying rubble and dirt, sent Xun Lili flying far away. But to her astonishment, she wasn’t dead. Although she had sustained minor injuries, it was completely different from what she had imagined! What happened?Xun Lili focused her gaze and saw a pitiful Demon lying not far from her, its Demon Wings completely shattered with only broken remnants remaining. The mysterious black flame above the Demon’s head had weakened to near extinction.

“An Sheng! Are you an idiot?!” Xun Lili cried out in anguish, scrambling on hands and knees to reach An Sheng as tears streamed down her face and fell into the mud. She finally understood why she had only sustained minor injuries – An Sheng had borne nearly all of the attack for her.

An Sheng’s wounds had never fully healed, and after deploying all his defensive skills to withstand the Spear of Judgment, he was now hovering at death’s door. Even his innate Talent Ability of Cellular Activation had plummeted to freezing levels due to severe injuries, preventing him from recovering at the visible rate he once could.

Clutching An Sheng’s head, Xun Lili wept uncontrollably: “Are you stupid? Why save me? Why?!”

“Aren’t… we… family…? I…” An Sheng’s voice had faded to near inaudibility, yet Xun Lili heard every word clearly.

Indeed, though Xun Lili usually disliked the aloof An Sheng who kept to himself, he was right – they had long become family.

“Don’t speak, save your strength to recover! Aren’t you the immortal An Sheng? Don’t you have abilities like Wolverine? Use your power, you fool! Don’t die! Wuwuwu” By the end, Xun Lili’s words were completely drowned by sobs.

Not far away, Fang Yi stood atop a massive boulder, watching Xun Lili with utter disgust.

She coldly declared: “See now! This is the difference between deities and ants. As a noble Purifier, you actually shed tears for filthy insects? You’ve disgraced our name and tarnished the Emissary’s glory! You can die along with these vermin!”

Another Spear of Judgment materialized in Fang Yi’s hand! This time, Xun Lili couldn’t possibly evade it, with no one left to resist this powerful Purifier. The Blood-Colored Pheromone emanating from Pighead Three had vanished – he must be dead; Nie Chong was vomiting blood foam, his internal organs damaged and ribs broken from the blast shockwave, barely clinging to life; An Sheng was in critical condition.

Among Yushan Fortress’s four main combatants, only Xun Lili remained mobile. But facing an Advanced Purifier capable of Energy Transformation, even as a half-baked Purifier possessing the Deification Factor, she stood no chance. Perhaps Yushan Fortress’s fate had truly reached its end, destined to fall today to this Purifier named Fang Yi.

Fang Yi hurled the Spear of Judgment once more, determined to eradicate both this traitorous Purifier and the wretched insect together!Xun Lili held An Sheng’s head and did not respond to Fang Yi’s words. Besides sorrow and despair, she felt a faint trace of relief in her heart. At the very least, dying together with family could be considered a comforting thought—having company on the road to the Yellow Springs would spare her from loneliness.

Just as the Spear of Judgment struck, a blood-colored translucent sphere suddenly enveloped An Sheng and Xun Lili. Though the spear collided with the sphere, causing a violent explosion, it left the two inside completely unharmed.

As the explosion subsided, a clear yet chillingly beautiful voice rang out: “How dare you lay hands on my man? You’re seeking death!”

Medusa, dressed in an elegant deep blue evening gown, hovered midair like a queen. In her hand, she held the upper half of Baldy—the gravity-manipulating Purifier whom An Sheng had severed in two but who still clung to life, gravely wounded.

Medusa descended slowly before An Sheng and Xun Lili, tossing Baldy’s upper torso beside An Sheng. She coldly instructed Xun Lili, “Make the little one devour this scoundrel.”

Xun Lili was stunned. She had never seen Medusa in person and had only heard An Sheng and the others speak of this fearsome Lord Level woman—no, this female Mutant.

“What are you waiting for? Do you want him to die!? Make the little one eat him!” Medusa grew frantic, for An Sheng’s condition was critical; he could stop breathing at any moment.

Only then did Xun Lili snap out of her daze, but figuring out how to make An Sheng eat posed another headache.

“H-how… how should he eat?” Xun Lili stammered as she asked Medusa.

“Any way—raw, sliced, or drained of blood. Just stop dithering, or the little one is done for!” Medusa kicked Baldy’s half-body toward Xun Lili and shouted the words above.

She was genuinely desperate. The Blood-Colored Pheromone unique to Mutants within An Sheng was gradually dissipating, likely to vanish entirely in under a minute. By then, even if an Immortal Master descended, it would be beyond salvation.
