Chapter 131 – Recruitment – Part 2
“Your way of speaking is getting more vulgar.”
Despite her older brother Lee Shincheol’s words, Lee Hyerim’s smile did not fade.
As she sat down, the Eldest Sister crossed her arms and spoke.
“Don’t you think your recent behavior has gone too far?”
Lee Hyerim shrugged her shoulders and picked up her fork and knife.
“I’m not sure what you mean.”
“When will you ever grow up? And what are you wearing? No taste. Are you at a funeral?”
Lee Hyerim clearly heard her sisters’ venomous words as she cut her steak.
She didn’t feel bad.
On the contrary, as Woojin had said, realizing and observing it felt like a surprisingly new righteous path.
Their reaction to me.
When I create a situation, my siblings react exactly as predicted.
It felt like looking down from above.
Lee Hyerim, who was cutting her steak, put down her fork and knife and said,
“It’s cold and tough. Excuse me.”
At Lee Hyerim’s words, a staff member quickly approached.
“Please bring me a new one.”
“Understood.”
***
Woojin, who had been standing still like an executive assistant in front of the private room Lee Hyerim entered, slowly nodded his head.
It was Woojin who had heard all their conversations.
People’s personalities and types vary.
They change and become fixed according to environmental factors, and people can be distinguished and classified by recalling the five senses.
The way individuals react to the five senses is also like that.
Sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch.
Even at this very moment, people are subject to the five senses due to the external environment.
At this very moment.
Various objects constantly flash before one’s eyes. (Sight)
The sound of people’s voices, the ticking of a clock, and even the sound of typing on a keyboard. (Hearing)
The smell felt while breathing the air of the space one is in. (Smell)
Any taste felt even without eating anything. (Taste)
The difference in temperature felt on the hands, or the material of clothes, or the texture of objects. (Touch)
All of these are felt and pass unconsciously, but among the five senses, each individual consciously reacts differently to them.
Some consciously react to sight, while others react to hearing, smell, taste, or touch.
Their main interests are different.
People who react strongly to one of these five senses also have different professions.
Those who react strongly to sight might become designers, and those who react strongly to hearing might become singers, composers, or instrument players.
The same goes for smell, taste, and touch.
Considering these things, it becomes understandable that individuals’ reputations or feelings about artworks, films, and so on can all differ.
If one understands an individual’s representational system, one can perceive that person’s world and thus gain empathy.
Average people tend to perceive the world using sight, hearing, and touch.
If you know which of these three representational systems someone uses to perceive, you can also figure out where they place importance in their life.
This is because internal things are bound to be reflected unconsciously in some way.
It’s like a personality.
Visual types like to visualize things, and their face and attire are neat.
They not only have an excellent ability to distinguish colors but also pay attention to other people’s clothes, not just their own.
They also frequently use visual expressions when speaking.
Things like, ‘It’s far, I can’t see it well, I’ll check, Let’s go see it.’
Auditory types,
When they hear a sound, they are the first to turn their gaze towards it and show a movement of awareness. They like people with attractive voices and occasionally hear from acquaintances that they are good listeners (attentive).
And,
They often use expressions like, ‘I said it. Didn’t you hear? Did you hear? I misheard.’
Also, haptic types,
They value feelings.
They think of the comfort of a chair, whether a blanket feels soft, if clothes have a pleasant texture, and if the brightness of light is appropriate.
They focus on comfort and like physical touch.
Their internal expressions speak in terms of tactile feelings.
They often use phrases like, ‘Your words are cold. He seems like a warm person. For some reason, I have a good feeling today.’
“Visual.”
A quiet murmur escaped Woojin’s lips.
Inside the Private Room, there was someone who predominantly used sight as their preferred representational system among sight, hearing, and touch.
‘When are you going to grow up? What’s that outfit? You have no sense. Is this a funeral?’
It was the third son, 25-year-old Lee Siyoung.
Woojin asked Lee Hyerim a variety of questions about his brothers’ hobbies and what they liked.
He heard that Lee Siyoung liked paintings and fashion shows.
Woojin took off his jacket and rolled up his sleeves appropriately.
His thick, sexy veins, which nurses would surely appreciate, were fully visible.
Just then, the staff member who prepared the steak approached.
But a strange scene unfolded.
The staff member, who had received Woojin’s jacket, handed over the steak.
And as Woojin entered the private room, Lee Hyerim maintained the calmest expression possible.
And when Woojin placed the steak in front of her,
“Here’s your steak.”
Lee Hyerim looked up slightly at Woojin and smiled.
“Thank you.”
“Have a good time.”
Woojin turned his body and briefly fixed his gaze on Lee Siyoung.
Lee Siyoung, who met Woojin’s gaze for a moment, did not avoid it and wore a curious expression.
Conversely, Woojin averted his gaze.
As Woojin disappeared, Lee Siyoung grabbed Woojin’s ankle.
“Give me some warm water.”
Woojin, who turned to look at Lee Siyoung, responded politely.
However, his gaze was fixed directly on her, so while his tone was polite, the gaze, like that of a predator looking at its prey, intertwined, creating a peculiar atmosphere.
“I will prepare it for you soon.”
As Woojin left, Lee Hyerim glanced at Lee Siyoung.
Because Lee Siyoung was nodding her head, watching Woojin until he was out of sight.
Lee Hyerim chuckled and cut into her steak.
Wherever Woojin went, women’s eyes were drawn to him, and this place was no exception.
Eldest Sister hadn’t even looked at Woojin from the start.
If she had, she probably would have felt a sense of familiarity.
After all, she had seen Woojin at the Shinhwa General Trading interview.
Of course, if she had recognized Woojin, she would have blamed Lee Hyerim even more.
Either way was fine.
Just then, Lee Shincheol stood up from his seat.
“Enjoy your meal.”
Lee Shincheol left with those dry words.
That left only the three women.
Eldest Sister put her hand on the door and said,
“I’ll also be leaving first…”
Lee Siyoung cut her sister off and asked,
“Sister, that son of the National Assembly Member, you met him, do you think he’s good? He seemed handsome too.”
The intention behind Lee Siyoung’s question wasn’t important.
It was just to hold her back for a moment.
Her sister chuckled.
“He seems to have some background, but…”
Lee Siyoung could no longer hear her sister’s words.
Because Woojin was bringing warm water.
“Please tell me if it’s too hot.”
Lee Siyoung nodded and scanned Woojin up and down.
The curiosity filling her face soon came out of her mouth.
“You must earn a lot of money? Your watch, and your clothes are decent too?”
Everything Woojin was wearing was a luxury brand.
Of course, it was a gift from Lee Hyerim.
Woojin stared at her and said,
“Not at all. I’m just trying to dress appropriately for the occasion. More importantly, your taste is truly exceptional.”
Woojin continued, looking at her ears and neckline so she would notice his gaze.
“The earrings you’re wearing are a luxury item called ‘Lake Holding Starlight.'”
And this time, he subtly shifted his gaze up her neckline to her upper body.
“Your top was exquisitely hand-stitched by a French artisan, and the black-navy color is truly impressive. It seems the earrings and clothes have found their owner and are shining brightly. A quiet elegance emanates from you.”
Lee Siyoung swept her hair to one side and looked up at Woojin.
And she smiled.
“Look at his way with words?”
“Good words always follow good people…”
Lee Hyerim blinked and looked at Woojin.
It was because she had never heard Woojin speak like that before. No, she was hearing it now, and it didn’t feel awkward at all.
He exuded sexiness and sophistication.
Just then, the eldest sister looked at Woojin.
‘He looks familiar.’
But that thought quickly disappeared.
To her self-centered nature, others were insignificant unless there was some benefit to her.
“I’m leaving first.”
After the eldest sister left, Woojin also bowed slightly to Lee Siyoung, bidding her farewell.
“Excuse me.”
“Is there anything else you need?”
“I’d like to make a reservation for tomorrow evening. For four people.”
“What time should I make it for?”
“Six o’clock.”
“Alright. Should I put you down as Lee Siyoung?”
“Oh my? How do you know my name?”
“Wouldn’t it be stranger if I didn’t know it, seeing as you’re from the Republic of Korea?”
As her lips curved symmetrically, Woojin bowed his head as if he was done and said,
“Then I’ll make a reservation for six tomorrow.”
As Woojin left, Lee Siyoung got up from her seat and said to Lee Hyerim,
“Eat well.”
Lee Siyoung made a clicking sound with her high heels as she headed for the exit.
Lee Hyerim, left alone, sat still, just blinking her eyes.
She was thinking about Woojin,
“Hyerim.”
When Woojin’s voice was heard, her head snapped around.
“Huh?”
“Doesn’t it taste good? You haven’t eaten a single bite.”
Lee Hyerim had cut the steak, but hadn’t touched a single piece.
That was because she was freshly shocked by Woojin’s new appearance.
“If you’re not going to eat it, can I have it?”
Lee Hyerim, who had been staring blankly at Woojin, eventually let out a chuckle.
He had returned to the Woojin she knew.
“Still, I touched it, so if we ordered another one…”
“It’s fine.”
Woojin plopped down next to Lee Hyerim.
Then he brought the steak Lee Hyerim had cut to his mouth with a fork.
Hyerim asked Woojin, who was closing his eyes and munching.
“Is it good?”
“What’s there to say? Oh my…”
Lee Hyerim shook her head and pushed a glass of water towards Woojin, saying,
“Did you know that the room felt 180 degrees different to you?”
Woojin slowly nodded his head.
“You have to use everything you can use.”
“Use?”
“Messiah Syndrome, Princess Pyeonggang Syndrome.”
Simply put, Messiah Syndrome implies that one is superior and has the power to save others.
Princess Pyeonggang Syndrome is similar to Messiah Syndrome.
Princess Pyeonggang Syndrome is when one helps a man who is less capable than oneself to develop and feels a sense of accomplishment watching his success.
Woojin continued speaking.
“Hyerim, how much time is left on the professional manager contract for SH Construction, which Young Master Lee Yohwan was involved in managing?”
“A year? Why him?”
“I think the bigger the web I cast, the better.”
Woojin brought the steak to his mouth again and began to chew quietly.
Unlike before, he couldn’t taste it.
Woojin was chewing on something else, thinking of something other than meat.
