Chapter 102 – LV.Seven Priest Seo Rayeon – [Four]
Chapter 102 – LV.Seven Priest Seo Rayeon – [Four]
“I am not a goddess—”
Seo Yun spoke, but the vampire showed no sign of listening.
“You descended to the Mortal Realm just to kill me?”
The vampire seemed to be muttering as if seeing a ghost superimposed over Seo Yun’s face.
“I won’t die. How I survived…”
As crimson Eye Light erupted from the vampire’s eyes, everyone panicked and raised their weapons. Anyone from Happy Village would be terrified just seeing that Eye Light. It was a precursor to a vampire with low Spirit unleashing a fit of rage.
Just as Han Siwoo prepared to fight, the goddess’s voice echoed in his mind.
Did you think you could get paid and not do the work? I never expected this.
Her laughter reverberated in his head.
Then work hard cleaning, slave. For your beautiful mistress.
Then, when Seo Yun’s voice, identical to hers, followed, Han Siwoo felt a chill run down his spine.
“Cover me for a moment. I’ll try a Calm Spell.”
Along with that, the vampire’s roar echoed.
“I won’t die!”
The vampire’s thighs twitched, and then its form vanished from sight. It seemed as if it had used an Invisibility Spell, but that wasn’t the case. Its speed was simply too fast for the naked eye to track.
Park Taeyang screamed.
“Lee Jongho!”
Han Siwoo saw the vampire appear right beside him, swinging an iron club, and Lee Jongho flying backward. Behind them, Seo Yun and Gaeulbi, who had been chanting a spell, were knocked down under Lee Jongho’s body.
Han Siwoo rushed forward, raising his shield to push the vampire back.
“Get away!”
The shield he thrust forward was caught in the vampire’s hand. He couldn’t move it an inch. Despite its unimpressive appearance, its Strength seemed immense.
Han Siwoo bit his lip and swung his sword, but the vampire leaped backward and retreated into the darkness in an instant. It was a movement akin to that of a flea or a cricket, an insect-like motion. It seemed possible only if it were less affected by gravity relative to its Strength.
Then, from the darkness, the vampire shot toward them like an Artillery Shell. Han Siwoo reflexively swung his sword but missed.
And then, ugh…
He was struck in the side by the vampire’s fist. Han Siwoo was pushed aside, rolled on the ground, and barely managed to lift his upper body.
Just as he had done moments ago, he saw Seong Juri standing guard over their fallen comrades.
Seong Juri took steps backward, shield raised, as if to lure the vampire.
The vampire was drawn to the bait. Swinging its iron club and disgustingly long nails wildly as it advanced, Seong Juri, true to her Dwarf Race and now weighing over 100kg, didn’t fall easily.
But even she seemed overwhelmed by the monster. With each thudding sound, her plump body staggered, looking as though she might collapse at any moment.
Amidst this, where was Kim Rayeon? What was Kim Rayeon doing instead of fighting alongside them…?
He spotted the girl in the corner.
Seeing her face and entire body wavering, Han Siwoo’s eyes widened. He knew what that meant from what he had just witnessed.
A Doppelganger’s transformation here? No.
“Hey, Kim Rayeon! Stop!”
But Kim Rayeon was already transforming into something that was no longer Kim Rayeon.
Kim Rayeon wishes her true identity were really a Doppelganger. In that case, the things she had done would be the deeds of another girl who only resembled her.
Her mother’s shattered head, the 1kg dumbbell stained red beside it. She remembers the taste of the raw ramen she ate while alternating her gaze between the two. It was delicious. Even as her whole body trembled, the raw ramen with her mother’s saliva on it slid down her throat effortlessly.
That night, she couldn’t sleep because she hadn’t eaten anything. As she lay there with her eyes closed, she heard a rustling sound. When she left her room, she saw her mother chewing raw ramen in the moonlight. She had said there was no food left, damn bitch.
At the time, she didn’t feel much guilt. It was an era too busy filling her throat to harbor such extravagant emotions.
That a girl who was merely agile from some exercise survived that time still feels like a Miracle. The things she did to achieve that trivial miracle now haunt her mind from time to time, tormenting her now that life has become somewhat livable.
It’s time to be reborn as a new being.
The Doppelganger completed its transformation.
Han Siwoo looked at Kim Rayeon… no, at the girl he didn’t know what to call anymore.
That girl, now identical to Seo Yun—the replicated Seo Yun—drew a sword.
The Flaming Sword that Gaeulbi had gifted her before. However, a Doppelganger’s transformation only copies the outward appearance of Equipment, not its magical properties.
When flames didn’t erupt from the drawn sword, the replicated Seo Yun scratched her head and moved her lips. A Priest’s Spell caused flames to surge from the blade.
Only then, seemingly satisfied, she smiled. An arrogant smile, the kind the real Seo Yun would never make. Thanks to that alien expression, it would likely be easy to distinguish her from the original.
Now, Han Siwoo focused his attention not on the vampire but on her. The situation the Troll had warned about had occurred. He shouted frantically into his Bracelet.
“Troll, Troll? Come quickly!”
But the Bracelet didn’t respond. Come to think of it, hadn’t Kim Jihyeok said he had already used it once to summon the Troll when he went missing? It seemed the cooldown period hadn’t passed yet.
Then, a scream echoed. Turning his head, he saw Seong Juri finally collapse.
“Damn…”
And true to her 11 Health points, the “real” Seo Yun got up. Seo Yun locked eyes with her replicated self.
The two girls, identical in appearance, stared at each other for a moment. Han Siwoo knew what was about to happen.
That crazy bitch would charge at them. Or the other way around.
Han Siwoo staggered forward, standing guard over the real Seo Yun with his sword and shield. As he glared at the replicated Seo Yun, she glanced between him and the real Seo Yun, smirked, and opened her mouth.
“I’ll tank for a bit. You…”
She seemed to be speaking to the real Seo Yun. And in a voice identical to hers, this Seo Yun replied.
“Take care of the kids? Got it.”
Even in the urgency, Han Siwoo was bewildered. What was this?
The replicated Seo Yun approached the vampire and swung the Burning Sword in a full circle. A red circle was drawn in the darkness, like playing with fire.
He wondered what she had just done, but it seemed to be a taunt. The replicated Seo Yun shouted.
“Come here, you bug!”Was it the dazzling crimson light that stimulated his pupils? The vampire turned his eye light in that direction and opened his mouth wide.
“Why is the Goddess there again—!”
The way he shouted and charged looked, from the side, as if he were fleeing from something terrifying. Even though the direction he ran was the opposite.
And the cloned Seo Yun, like a matador, sidestepped to evade the vampire lunging at her. She moved with an agility that seemed as if that body had been hers from the start.
Meanwhile, glancing to the side, the real Seo Yun had her hands under the armpits of the fallen Lee Jongho and was moving him.
Park Taeyang created and floated a small sun in that spot. As sunlight spread around it, a safe zone was created to protect them from the vampire.
Seo Yun laid Lee Jongho down there, then shouted to Gaeulbi, who had just staggered to her feet.
“Gaeulbi? Move Seong Juri over here!”
“Got it… Ugh!”
While Gaeulbi moved Seong Juri, Seo Yun was murmuring a prayer.
“…Arise.”
As Seo Yun’s prayer ended, a red energy spread around and seeped into everyone’s bodies here.
It seemed to be a large-scale Healing Spell. Looks like she gained a new spell after her Level increased.
And Han Siwoo was more surprised by the fact that the girl and the cloned Seo Yun didn’t seem intent on killing each other right now than by the fact that Seo Yun had also risen by 2 Levels.
Considering how he had been earlier, it was incomprehensible.
How could they possibly ignore that impulse? Because of Spirit 9?
But Spirit 9 isn’t some Buddha-like state of enlightenment. Even normally, she fully felt negative emotions like displeasure. So, is she enduring it?
However, no matter how he looked, neither of them seemed to be suppressing some kind of impulse. Both were naturally doing their own tasks.
“Han Siwoo? You rest a bit too.”
Saying that, Seo Yun dashed outside the range of the small sun.
Seo Yun stopped, and a halo appeared behind her head. Following that, something even more eye-catching than that ring of fire appeared; something glowing pierced through her poncho from her small back.
That glowing crimson thing was wings. Wings made of fire. The wings dragged along the ground like the hem of a garment, scattering sparks. He had heard she gained this new ability last time, but this was the first time seeing it directly.
As Han Siwoo stared blankly, Seo Yun shouted.
“Look at me—!”
Her words carried a magical power that was hard to ignore. Like Han Siwoo, the vampire also turned its gaze toward Seo Yun and blinked.
“Uh, huh?”
And the cloned Seo Yun on the opposite side did the same thing. Creating a halo and wings, she commanded in a voice audible to all.
“Where are you looking? Look at me, you insignificant thing.”
The vampire’s body, having turned its gaze that way, stiffened. With a ‘Goddess of Beauty’ standing on both sides, the vampire seemed confused.
The vampire frantically looked back and forth, seemingly unable to decide whether to attack someone or flee from someone, standing there trembling anxiously.
It was while the vampire was doing nothing. Park Taeyang’s voice rang out.
“Light!”
The Flash Spell Park Taeyang detonated—this time, there wasn’t even a warning to close their eyes.
The flash exploded where the vampire was, swallowing up its surroundings.
Just as Han Siwoo couldn’t bear the glare and closed his eyes, the sound of footsteps echoed from ahead.
Who could be moving now when everyone’s vision was paralyzed? It must be Seo Yun. He knew that thanks to Soul Sight, Seo Yun could move even while blinded. Probably the cloned Seo Yun could too.
And when his vision recovered and he opened his eyes, he saw the vampire with a burning sword pierced through its chest and the Seo Yun who had stabbed it. Wondering which Seo Yun it was, it was clearly the cloned one. Seeing her smiling as if satisfied with this outcome made it certain.
Experience Points seeped in, announcing the vampire’s death.
Seo Yun said.
“I was chanting a Calm Spell.”
The cloned Seo Yun grinned.
“This guy would give Experience Points too, so why bother?”
The real Seo Yun frowned, but soon sighed and said.
“Right, saving the kids is the priority.”
“Kim Jihyeok hasn’t been treated yet either, I’ll take care of him?”
Then the two began the healer’s work. They each went in different directions and continued healing the fallen comrades.
During this, Han Siwoo worried that the girl who was Kim Rayeon might suddenly ambush the original.
So Han Siwoo stood next to the real Seo Yun and monitored the cloned Seo Yun, but the two Priests paid no attention to each other, focusing solely on healing their comrades. As he thought many times, he couldn’t understand at all how they could be like that.
It was a short while later that Lee Jongho and Seong Juri regained consciousness. They were startled—why were there two Seo Yuns here, where did Kim Rayeon go—and then were shocked by the identity Kim Rayeon revealed.
“So then Kim Rayeon… you…”
As Lee Jongho uttered her old name, the cloned Seo Yun shook her head.
“I’m not Kim Rayeon anymore.”
Gaeulbi asked.
“Then what, should we call you Kim Yun now?”
“No? Since I’m like Seo Yun’s younger sister… in the sense of sharing blood… call me Seo Rayeon.”
Saying that, Seo Rayeon smiled. An angel’s smile, but that of a wicked angel. An angel’s name that came to mind just then.
‘Totally Lucifer…’
Being the original, that smile was also one of Charm 10. Feeling it was unnecessarily charming, Han Siwoo deliberately averted his gaze from that face.
A little time passed, and Kim Jihyeok, who was receiving treatment from Seo Rayeon, also regained consciousness.
“Seo… Yun?”
Looking down at the boy, Seo Rayeon smiled.
“I’m not Seo Yun? I’m…”
