Chapter 91 – LV.Fourteen Orc Vampire Oh Haengbok – [Four]

A moment of silence flowed before Oh Haengbok spoke.

“Bloodsucking… I can’t.”

“Why not?”

“I have to die here. The prophecy said so too.”

“That thing about dying under the sun?”

Oh Haengbok nodded. Even that simple gesture looked painful.

“It seems the ‘sun’ mentioned there is that sun. And I… maybe because blood is draining from my head, my mind is clearer than ever. I can accept that now is the time to die. So go to the Paladins and…”

Seo Yun cut him off.

“That thing isn’t the real sun. You said the sun will rise again in the world and you’ll die then, right?”

“That, well, was just something I said to keep the mood from getting awkward.”

“Anyway, stop going on about fate and just suck my blood.”

“I said I can’t…”

“Why on earth not? Until now, you even insisted and forced me to let you drink.”

Another silence flowed, but this time, Oh Haengbok seemed to have closed his mouth not because it was difficult to speak, but because it was awkward to say anything. Seeing his troubled expression made it clear.

After a long while, Oh Haengbok spat out his words as if chewing them.

“Bloodsucking directed at the opposite gender is an act stemming from sexual desire. It’s written that way in the Rulebook.”

As Seo Yun’s eyes widened, Oh Haengbok grinned.

“Now do you understand what I did? I did something terrible to you. I apologize. And you, you’re practically entitled to feel disgusted with me or even exact punishment, and it would be justified. So don’t feel any guilt. Hurry…”

While Oh Haengbok was speaking, Seo Yun wrapped the poncho around herself again. After putting it on completely, she reached out her hand and placed it against Oh Haengbok’s face.

Even if Oh Haengbok couldn’t see the hand in front of his face, he must have felt its touch. He asked.

“What is it?”

“The back of my hand. Suck the blood. Surely you don’t have a hand fetish.”

“Didn’t you hear what I just said?”

“Whether it’s pseudo-sexual intercourse or whatever, it’s not like we actually did it, so it’s fine. Hurry.”

When Oh Haengbok still didn’t comply, Seo Yun forced his mouth open. With no strength left in his entire body, Oh Haengbok couldn’t resist.

Seo Yun placed the back of her hand into his mouth and made him close it.

Ugh… As the sharp fangs pierced the back of her hand, pain surged. Along with it, she felt blood flowing from the punctured holes.

And driven by vampire instinct, Oh Haengbok gulped down the blood that entered his mouth. After letting him drink a certain amount, she saw his burnt-out eyes begin to regenerate.

The aftereffect of blood draining all at once brought on dizziness, but she didn’t show it. Seo Yun retrieved her hand and asked.

“Your HP should have recovered a bit now, but can you still not walk?”

Oh Haengbok twitched his body and gritted his teeth.

“Not yet…”

Seo Yun examined the spot where Oh Haengbok had collapsed. Sunlight was seeping in thinly here too.

“Is it because sunlight reaches here too? We need to go somewhere darker to heal properly.”

Seo Yun cast the Heroism Spell on herself. With her enhanced strength, she lifted Oh Haengbok’s arm, draped it over her shoulder, and stood up.

“What are you doing? I’ll support you, so let’s walk together.”

Oh Haengbok hesitated but followed her words. Seo Yun, with difficulty yet a composed expression, supported Oh Haengbok and sat him down in a place completely shrouded in darkness.

“Is this a bit better?”

Oh Haengbok groaned and clicked his tongue.

“Yeah. So once my body recovers, I just go surrender to the Paladins, right?”

“Are you crazy? Get ready to fight. I gave you my precious blood for that.”

“If I just hand myself over to the Paladins, there’s no need to fight…”

Seo Yun shook her head at Oh Haengbok’s words.

“From what I see, we have to fight. Looking at what they’re doing, they don’t seem like the type to just leave peacefully if we hand over a vampire.”

“Is that so?”

“Yes. And this is about earlier—no one suggested selling out the Chief to the Paladins. Maybe they couldn’t speak up due to the atmosphere, but I can’t ignore everyone’s opinions and report you on my own.”

“They owe me a lot, that’s why. But you don’t.”

“Right. I’m not as much of a Chief fanatic as those people.”

Seo Yun found a black umbrella inside a Benz. She melted the Benz’s door with her Flaming Sword and took out the umbrella. Opening it to shield Oh Haengbok’s body, she said.

“The village needs the Chief.”

Oh Haengbok fell silent again, then muttered.

“You weren’t even originally from our village, yet you say such things…”

“What nonsense is that? I’m the top contributor in Points. Who else cares about this village more than me?”

Though it wasn’t a particularly funny joke, Oh Haengbok chuckled. Seo Yun said.

“Then pull yourself together. Be ready to fight anytime. Understood?”

Oh Haengbok nodded.

“Alright, but… I don’t want to sound weak, but with the bright sunlight outside, can I even fight? Wearing sunglasses doesn’t seem like it’ll help much.”

“You’ll have a chance to fight, Chief.”

“When?”

Seo Yun explained the matters discussed among the village Players and various speculations.

After listening to the explanation, Oh Haengbok nodded, and Seo Yun said.

“Ah, and as Chief, please give the order to fight.”

And as if his energy had finally returned, Oh Haengbok bit his lip and shouted.

“Right. Go. Tell everyone to fight like their lives depend on it to protect the village!”

With that conversation concluded, Seo Yun left the underground parking lot.

As soon as she reached the surface, she quickly assessed the situation.

The village Players were once again confronting the Paladins.

Among them, a Golem was visible. It wasn’t the makeshift thing Oh Haengun used during outdoor activities, created with Meteor Magic, but a true Battle Golem made with the help of the village stonemason.

Oh Haengun and the Players were gathered behind it.

As Seo Yun approached Oh Haengun, the Mage looked her way.

“Where have you been?”

“I went to see the Chief.”

“What did the Chief say?”

“He said to fight.”

At Seo Yun’s words, Oh Haengun fell silent for a moment, then nodded.

“Alright, understood.”

“I heard the kids who ran away got caught. Who exactly was captured? I thought Players, even if they’re teenagers, weren’t evacuated.”

“Right. I only let the ones who hadn’t undergone Class Change run, but Park Taeyang, Gaeulbi, and Kim Rayeon also tried to escape together and got caught…”

Seo Yun closed and opened her eyes, then asked.

“Gaeulbi is a Martial Artist, so I get sending her, but Kim Rayeon is a Warrior—why her?””He’s from another village, right? I thought it’d be awkward to start a fight. So…”

It was right after the quick conversation ended. A messy voice reached Seo Yun’s ears.

“Kim Rayeon, kidnapped?”

The troll’s voice. Seo Yun looked around and asked.

“She didn’t go?”

“I was watching from behind.”

Probably worried about the life of this goddess candidate. Anyway, that bastard.

“I can’t see her with Soul Sight either.”

“I hid her from sight.”

“So, you’re just going to stand by even though she’s been kidnapped?”

“No.”

“Then?”

“I will help. First, I’ll return to my village and gather items that will aid in the battle.”

After saying that, the troll’s voice was heard no more. Seo Yun frowned and saw Sir Marshall approaching.

Once again, she summoned her ‘solemn’ voice and confronted him.

“You took our boys?”

“Yes.”

“I told you to do the interrogation through me.”

Was it because she currently had no halo? Sir Marshall snorted.

“We follow the command of the Sun God. Not the command of an angel favored by a vampire. Besides, you’re not even the leader here.”

“You’ve already done that interrogation?”

“Yes. The name of the vampire boss here is Oh Haengbok… right?”

It seemed they had used a Mind Control Spell on the captured boys.

As Seo Yun bit her lip, Sir Marshall spoke.

“The Commander-in-Chief said this: ‘Hunt the vampire’… and also to rescue the poor angel captured by the vampire.”

Sir Marshall gestured, and the paladins approached. Seo Yun was stepping back.

“Seo Yun, move aside!”

Someone shouted, followed by a thud. Seo Yun turned around and hastily threw herself to the side.

Oh Haengun’s Combat Golem was charging forward on its four rocky legs.

“Burn that rock!”

The paladins simultaneously extended their palms and chanted a spell. Their gauntleted palms shone brilliantly, and the light soon extended forth as golden rays.

The Divine Spell of Sun Priests and Paladins, Solar Ray. As the rays struck the limbs of the combat golem, the rocks forming the golem did not melt, but the ethereal joints holding them together melted away.

The golem stopped, but only for a moment. Behind it, Oh Haengun was already chanting another spell. Not long after the golem collapsed, his spell was completed.

“Uh…”

The once-collapsed golem reassembled on the spot, rose again, and charged toward the paladins. This time, they couldn’t burn or stop the massive rocky giant.

Like siege rams, both of the golem’s heavy fists struck out simultaneously, slamming into two paladins. A clang rang out loud enough for everyone to hear. Despite wearing heavy armor, the bodies of the two paladins flew through the air.

Meanwhile, Sir Marshall and the paladins standing on either side of him tried to move but screamed instead. As the ground around them caved in, they fell into the earth as if plummeting into a trap that had appeared beneath them.

Pit Spell, another spell of a Rock Specialization Mage. Oh Haengun, who had instantly incapacitated the Vice Commander and six paladins, shouted.

“Get them!”

His booming shout reminded her of seeing her sworn brother. Well, Oh Haengun was just a coward, not exactly a pacifist. With the command from his respected Chief, he wouldn’t hold back.

The fight had begun at an unexpected moment. As paladins rushed in from various positions, the warriors on this side stepped forward.

They gathered and charged forward. Their battle cries ringing in her ears.

“Long live Happy Village—!”

At the forefront were the village’s elite warriors. They were the first to clash with the paladins.

The grating sounds of metal clashing pierced her ears from all around. Seo Yun stepped back and watched their close combat.

True to their status as high-level warriors above Level 7, the village’s elite warriors didn’t falter in the clash. After exchanging a few blows of spears and shields with the paladins, they were locked in a tense standoff.

Meanwhile, Seo Yun looked around, wondering what to do. Flame Spells were tricky to use recklessly in this kind of group battle. But charging in with a sword was also awkward; she had given blood to Oh Haengbok and was suffering from a Health deterioration debuff. Fighting as usual, getting hurt and struggling fiercely, was impossible…

“The fight’s already started?”

The troll’s voice was heard, and Seo Yun quickly spoke.

“That’s how it turned out. By any chance, do you have a Great Power spell scroll among the items you brought?”

“I don’t have that, but I can cast the spell on you directly.”

“Then cast it on me. And while you’re at it, the Hardening spell too.”

“Alright.”

The invisible troll beside her completed a spell in an instant. Feeling her skin harden, Seo Yun spoke up.

“Can’t you fight more actively instead of just casting buffs? You’re a troll, you’re tough, you probably won’t die from a blind sword strike.”

The troll, about to chant another spell, stopped and said.

“I’m a troll.”

“I know.”

“So my intelligence is low. I can’t use many spells. To fight important enemies, I must conserve spells as much as possible. To do my job without interference, it’s better to stay hidden.”

Was it an excuse not to fight actively? The troll continued chanting, and the Great Power spell she had requested earlier spread through Seo Yun’s body.

Feeling the power coursing through her small frame, Seo Yun forgot she needed to press the troll further. The superhuman strength she had never felt before sent a shiver through her very spirit.

‘Greatest Sword Under Heaven, descend.’

Clutching her Flaming Sword, she heard the cacophony of noises erupting all around.

The paladins’ spells, the clanging of metal. The warriors’ battle cries…

Among them, a tearing scream pierced her ears. Fuck, judging by the curse, it was a scream from a village Player.

Seo Yun turned her gaze in that direction and her eyes widened.

“Ah…”

A paladin had climbed on top of a fallen village warrior. He drew a dagger and began stabbing the warrior’s armpit; screams continued to erupt. The surrounding warriors were each too busy fighting to even think of helping.

Seo Yun charged forward.
