Chapter 107
Chapter 107
Tremendous crashes!
The fierce battle raged on.
Swords and claws clashed, bodies collided, emitting thick killing intent and spreading an aura of death.
“Stardust!”
And at the heart of that chaos, the Stardust Attack Unit stood.
They had pushed through the colossal wave of monsters and were now on the verge of reaching the Blue House.
To get this far, the Hunters had sustained countless injuries, and their stamina was rapidly depleting, yet their eyes remained sharp and alive.
Kang Yuseong once again focused their attention in front of them.
Now, only one final barrier remained before the Blue House.
There was already a significant distance between them and the Immortal Guild’s Eternity Attack Unit, and they were quite a distance ahead of other guild attack units as well.
But a final wall stood in their way.
It was a colossal AA-class monster, known as the Great Black Mamba.
A serpent-like monster with three massive heads, its entire body was covered in extremely tough scales. Furthermore, it was a terrifying monster that could petrify anyone who met the gaze of the two eyes on its central head.
From one of its other two heads, long, numerous snakes rooted and parasitized, which the Great Black Mamba would freely hurl during combat.
And the last head was encased in a tough, rock-like carapace, boasting extreme defense and powerful strikes.
The problem was that it wouldn’t die unless all three of its heads were severed.
Meaning, they had to fight a terrifying beast with three lives.
It was firmly blocking the only path to the Blue House, leaving no way to bypass it.
Before that colossal barrier, Stardust stood tall.
Kang Yuseong once again raised the surrounding corpses.
The corpses he had initially raised had taken significant damage, necessitating a replacement.
He manipulated them, forming a defensive barrier to prevent other monsters from approaching.
“Everyone, focus.”
His voice spread through the comms.
“The Great Black Mamba. It’s the final obstacle on our path to the Blue House. We’ll defeat it as quickly as possible and then rescue the VIP. Everyone, prepare yourselves!”
The attack unit members were already looking tense, seeing the Great Black Mamba’s overwhelming presence.
Kang Yuseong took out a Stamina Potion-S from the small leather pouch at his waist and drank it.
New vitality surged through his exhausted body, and he felt strength returning to every muscle.
The attack unit members followed suit, drinking Stamina Potion-S and Healing Potions as they prepared for battle.
This was a special privilege they enjoyed because Kang Yuseong was their attack unit leader.
A mighty surge!
A colossal wave of vitality enveloped them, and the expressions of the attack unit members, worn out from continuous combat, brightened with renewed vigor.
“It has three heads in total. It won’t die unless all of them are severed. Keep that in mind as you fight!”
If even one head remained, it meant immortality.
The Hunters stared at the Great Black Mamba with tense expressions.
“Kim Do-jin, aim for the two eyes on the central head. Do not let its eyes turn this way. I’m counting on you!”
“Understood.”
Kang Yuseong, who had discreetly relayed the message to Kim Do-jin, nodded.
Among the three heads, the central one possessed the most terrifying power.
The two eyes on that head had a grotesque ability, much like a Medusa, to instantly turn anyone it gazed upon into stone.
“Begin!”
At Kang Yuseong’s command, a scorching aura erupted from behind the group.
Swoosh!
And a massive fireball sliced through the air, soaring straight towards the Great Black Mamba’s central head.
Crash!
A huge explosion occurred, and the Great Black Mamba’s head, caught off guard, recoiled sharply.
Boom!
In that instant, Kang Yuseong stomped hard on the ground and shot forward as if propelled.
This moment, with its head recoiling, was the only opportunity to approach it.
Swoosh!
But at that moment, the sky suddenly turned pitch black, and countless snake heads, jaws agape, lunged at Kang Yuseong.
From their mouths protruded massive fangs, almost the size of an adult’s forearm; a single bite from which seemed capable of instant death.
Thump!
Kang Yuseong lightly pushed off the ground, soaring into the air.
Flash!
And his sword emitted a dazzling silver light, conjuring dozens of shooting stars.
Whizz! Whizz! Whizz!
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The dozens of shooting stars struck the lunging snake heads with open jaws, tearing them apart.
And that wasn’t the end of it.
Whoosh!
Crash!
A powerful fireball shot from Kang Yuseong’s left hand!
“Graaah!”
The snakes, mortal enemies of fire, writhed desperately as they were engulfed in the scorching flames.
Whoosh!
At that moment, another massive fireball suddenly flew in from behind.
Crash!
“Graaah!”
It was a fireball launched by Kim Do-jin.
Just as the central head was trying to regain its posture, the fireball he launched once again struck its head, sending it flying back.
The central head thrashed wildly, clearly in immense pain.
And for good reason: Kim Do-jin’s destructive power was truly exceptional.
With that power fully concentrated on a single spot, there was no way the head could withstand it.
“Forward! Take this spot!”
Kang Yuseong quickly called out to the vanguard leader.
The implication was to take over the head Kang Yuseong had just been fighting.
Vanguard leader Gil Hyeok-jun immediately understood the intention and swiftly swapped places with him.
“Haaah!”
Crash!
And he delivered a resounding greeting to the rightmost head.
“Graaah!”
The massive attack power of the greatsword slammed the head into the ground for a moment, then sent it bouncing back, sharply twisting its neck.
Kang Yuseong seized the opening and immediately rushed towards the central head.
For the attack unit members to attack effectively, neutralizing the central head was the most urgent priority.
But the central head, clearly infuriated, let out a monstrous roar at Kang Yuseong, who was rushing towards it.
“Kieeeek!”
Whoosh!
Crash!
At that moment, another fireball launched by Kim Do-jin flew in from afar, but this time the leftmost head blocked it.
That head, encased in tough carapace, merely flinched slightly at the fireball’s explosion, but wasn’t greatly shaken. Its defense was indeed formidable.
With Kim Do-jin’s attack rendered ineffective, the central head gained an opening.
The two eyes of the Great Black Mamba’s central head opened wide, and a strange luminescence began to emanate.
This was the petrification ray, which could instantly turn anyone who met its gaze into stone.
Shimmer! Shimmer! Shimmer!
Kang Yuseong quickly ducked, extending a steel gauntlet on his left forearm.
The steel gauntlet, made of tough scales and alloy steel, had a very smooth surface, reflecting objects like a mirror.
Just as Perseus did in Greek mythology, Kang Yuseong looked at the central head reflected in his steel gauntlet and surged towards it.
“Graaah!”
The central head opened its jaws and lunged at Kang Yuseong.
When its most powerful attack, petrification, failed, it tried to swallow him whole.
But in that brief moment, Kang Yuseong swung his sword upwards.
Crack!
Splitting scales, the flame sword embedded itself directly into its jaw.
“Graaah!”
As the central head lifted its massive head in pain, Kang Yuseong found himself suspended at its tip, rocketing upwards. The tremendous acceleration momentarily blacked out his vision, but Kang Yuseong endured, steadying himself.
Thump!
Giving a slight rebound, he spun around once, then hurled a fireball straight into its gaping maw.
Crash!
With a violent tremor, the creature twisted its neck furiously.
No matter how massive the monster, there was no way it could endure having a fireball directly detonated inside its mouth as if it were nothing.
“Kim Do-jin! Aim for its eye!”
At the sudden command, Kim Do-jin reacted instantly.
Swoosh!
The massive fireball he launched swept through the surroundings, soaring from below upwards.
Whoosh!
Boom! Crash!
The moment Kang Yuseong felt a scorching heat on his back, a massive explosion engulfed the surroundings.
The fireball had accurately struck its right eye.
Kang Yuseong spun around, leaping onto the creature’s snout.
Then, piercing between its scales with his sword, he began to rush forward.
The creature was in agony, unable to properly open its eyes due to the intense heat.
Reaching its front in an instant, Kang Yuseong drew his sword and plunged it straight into one of its eyes.
Crunch!
“Kwaaah!”
Blood erupted from its eye.
The next moment, Kang Yuseong raised his foot high and stomped it down into the gushing eye.
Boom!
Its head twisted violently, and it thrashed wildly as if in a frenzy.
Chakra, Beast’s Strike!
The powerful kick, seized from Kim Jong-un, exploded.
The kick tore through its thick eyelid, crushing the eyeball beneath and utterly destroying its optic nerves.
But it wasn’t over yet.
Kang Yuseong moved swiftly, leaping from his spot and embedding a fireball directly into the creature’s eyeball.
Crash!
And Kang Yuseong didn’t stop there; he continued to sear it.
Hiss!
A foul smell of burning flesh permeated the air, and the creature’s eyelids melted and fused together.
At that moment, Kang Yuseong’s sword once again conjured countless shooting stars, dancing wildly over that eye.
Snap! Snap! Snap! Snap!
Blood splattered mercilessly, and one of its eyes was completely torn out.
The eyeball and everything else was utterly shredded, rendering its right eye incapable of turning opponents to stone.
Just as Kang Yuseong was about to move towards the remaining left eye, from behind, with a tremendous roar, something hot came flying again.
Swoosh!
Crash!
The fireball, narrowly missing Kang Yuseong, slammed into the central head’s left eye and exploded.
Kang Yuseong frowned, glaring at Kim Do-jin standing far away.
But, as expected, he was a practitioner of incredible skill.
From that distance, he had perfectly avoided Kang Yuseong while accurately striking the target. It was a terrifying display of control and daring.
Kang Yuseong moved quickly, tearing apart the creature’s left eye as well.
The central head, thrashing wildly with blood gushing, was now completely incapacitated.
Thump!
Kang Yuseong leaped from its head, landing lightly on the ground.
A faint smile played on his lips.
Now, the difficulty of conquering the Great Black Mamba had plummeted.
That central head had been the most troublesome part, and now that problem was resolved.
“Charge!”
The remaining two heads could now be handled sufficiently by the attack unit members.
“Graaah!”
As the awaited charge order was given, the attack unit members let out roars and charged forward.
Thus, they were breaking down the final wall on their way to the Blue House.
