Chapter 33
Chapter 33
The fighting continued without cease.
Many tried to stop him, but they quickly fell, becoming corpses.
Once the battle began, Kang Yuseong showed no mercy.
Moreover, his Chakra Cultivation, specialized for one-on-one combat, was now displaying considerable power.
The Chinese Hunters in Chinatown had developed Chakra Cultivation techniques primarily for hunting, which was why they couldn’t properly stand against Kang Yuseong.
Thud, thud.
Kang Yuseong’s blood-stained footsteps led deeper into Chinatown.
Then, he suddenly stopped.
A very old building stood in the distance.
He gazed at the building, which once would have been bustling with tourists eager for Chinese cuisine.
That building was a place Kang Yuseong knew very well.
‘The Slaughterhouse.’
The Slaughterhouse.
Indeed.
That was what it had been called.
In the past, how furious had Kang Yuseong been when the ugly truth hidden within was revealed?
Recalling the horrific acts that were likely still occurring inside, he clenched his fists tightly.
But the next moment, Kang Yuseong’s expression grew colder, and he began to walk.
A place where he absolutely had to see things through to the end.
A chilling blue light emanated from Kang Yuseong’s eyes.
* * * * *
The building, like a massive, arrogant predator, cast a faint glow as it loomed over Kang Yuseong. Yet, it was profoundly eerie, sending shivers down his spine with its desolate aura.
Even with the enforcers arrayed before it, what was this chill that felt like gazing upon a tomb?
Kang Yuseong did not stop.
The real fight was about to begin.
He knew all the ugly truths of the past, and he had come to take responsibility for those memories. There was no reason for him to stop, nor any desire to.
“You bastard, you actually dared to come this far!”
One of the enforcers stepped forward, blocking Kang Yuseong’s path.
Even though he must have heard that a single man had swept through Chinatown, his face showed a condescending expression as he looked at Kang Yuseong.
It was understandable that they would think that way.
This was the Red Dragon Pond.
The place where the Red Dragon resided.
This implied that all who came before were mere gatekeepers or stragglers.
“Did you come seeking your grave because you wish to die?”
The man sneered.
Kang Yuseong grinned, looking at him.
But the men who saw that smile shivered.
Kang Yuseong’s lips were twisted into a chilling, demonic grin.
“No… I… came here because I truly… truly want to kill someone.”
Thud.
Kang Yuseong took a step forward.
The smile on his lips deepened.
“So, you must die.”
Slash!
The moment his words ended, a streak of silver light cut through the air.
Tremble!
The man who had blocked his path clutched his throat with both hands, his whole body trembling violently.
Gush! Gush!
No matter how hard he tried to stop it with his large hands, thick streams of blood continuously spurted between his fingers.
“I-Insane!”
It wasn’t even visible.
All they saw was him smiling, yet their strongest man had been struck down.
The men scattered, picking up their weapons and rising.
Kang Yuseong chuckled, shaking his head.
“Don’t think those things will protect you.”
Then he moved.
A gust of wind suddenly swept through.
A gentle breeze, as if someone had merely passed by.
But the next moment, the men realized that what they had felt was anything but a gentle breeze.
“Kuaaaak!”
“Ugh, aack!”
It was a fierce storm that tore them all apart, a blade-wind that shredded them.
As if a violent tempest raged, the air split wildly, and countless streaks of silver light flashed.
Under the sharp, frenzied movements, the men’s bodies were shredded, blood erupted, and their internal organs were sliced into pieces.
Thud! Thud!
In an instant, more than a dozen men collapsed on the spot.
They had met their end, unable to withstand a single opponent.
Yet, Kang Yuseong stood still, his sword dripping with blood.
His face was etched with dissatisfaction.
And he uttered curtly,
“I… did not permit you to die peacefully.”
Grrrrk!
Instantly, a massive aura erupted from his entire body.
Kang Yuseong bared his white teeth and smiled.
“Rise! Until your bodies are torn apart and vanish, until your souls are crushed and scattered, I will grant you no rest!”
A startling event unfolded.
“Kuh-uh…”
The men who had just fallen were now staggering back to their feet.
Even those corpses with brutally severed limbs were somehow crawling and limping, moving.
This was Kang Yuseong’s Necromancy ability! Specifically, the Corpse Summoning Skill.
“Your master commands you. Go forth and destroy everything, tear it apart. Chew the flesh, strip the bones clean.”
A dark aura enveloped five or six of the men, and they followed him, still dripping vivid red blood.
Red Dragon Pond.
Into this enormous den of evil, Kang Yuseong, armed with another kind of evil, stepped inside.
* * * * *
Crash!
Kang Yuseong kicked the massive entrance door blocking his path, sending it flying, and entered the Red Dragon Pond without hesitation.
Men inside could be seen scrambling to their feet, grabbing their weapons, and rushing out.
Crack!
But Kang Yuseong instantly lunged at one of them, his sword flashing.
Starting with the man whose neck was severed in a single strike, Kang Yuseong began his frenzied slaughter.
Swish!
With a spin of his sword, his upward slash ripped a long gash across one man’s chest, spilling a torrent of blood, and the blade, immediately reversed, grazed the neck of another man beside him, severing his windpipe.
“What are you all doing?! Kill him!”
A man who seemed to be the leader came out, shouting at the top of his lungs.
The Hunters roared their battle cries and charged at Kang Yuseong.
But at that moment, screams erupted.
“Kuh-uh-uh!”
Suddenly, five or six men appeared behind Kang Yuseong, staggered forward, and attacked the men who were charging at Kang Yuseong.
What was astonishing was their method of attack.
They weren’t holding swords or axes.
They simply stretched out their blood-dripping arms, grabbed the men, pulled them close, opened their mouths, and bit them.
Chomp, chomp!
The men, dragged away in an instant, only then realized they were being devoured and shrieked hysterically.
“Kuaaaak!”
When the men looked closer, they saw that the creatures’ eyes were unfocused. And that wasn’t all; some had burst hearts, others had dangling necks.
Grotesque sights that could not possibly be alive.
And now, the Red Dragon Pond’s security team was being devoured alive by such beings.
“K-Kill those monsters right now!”
“Yes, sir!”
The security team charged forward again.
Kang Yuseong smiled coldly.
And then he muttered lowly,
“Tear them apart.”
“Gurgle!”
At that moment, the corpses’ eyes flashed, turning towards the newly charging security team.
They abandoned the men whose faces and hearts they had been ravenously devouring and lunged at the security team.
Crash!
The strength of the corpses, enhanced by Necromancy, was tremendous.
They stretched out their arms, snatched a security guard, and slammed him onto the floor.
“Kuaaaak!”
Splat!
His head burst, and the corpses’ eyes rolled as they licked the scattered brain matter from the floor.
At this bizarre and horrifying spectacle, the grand hall descended into utter chaos.
This was Necromancy.
Even at just Level 1, its power was considerable.
Kang Yuseong strode through the heart of that hell.
Through their mental link with him, the corpses dragged away anyone who approached, tearing off limbs and gouging out organs as they rampaged.
‘The basement is almost…’
Before long, they reached the stairs leading down to the basement.
Unlike the ground floor, the stairs descending into the basement felt inexplicably ominous.
The elevator standing before the stairs, and the bluish lighting along the staircase, gave off a chilling sensation, as if leading to a place utterly devoid of life.
Kang Yuseong walked.
Knowing what lay beneath, his expression was grim.
Clatter!
Bang!
Behind him, the battle between the security team trying to stop Kang Yuseong from descending and the corpses raged on.
* * * * *
It was pitch dark.
And eerie, and gloomy.
The only light in the basement came from a few dim, bluish lamps lining both sides of the corridor.
And at the far end, there was a place with white letters written on a green background.
But from the very start of the stairs leading to that place, black shadows blocked Kang Yuseong’s path.
There were no words.
Not even a breath could be heard.
This indicated formidable opponents.
It also proved that something significant lay within that room.
“Yes, it would be wise to stop me now.”
Kang Yuseong slightly raised his sword and spoke in a low voice.
His eyes had grown incredibly cold.
“Because if I see what’s in there… I don’t know what I’ll do.”
The shadows remained unmoved by his words.
Like those stripped of emotion, they simply stood still in the darkness, as they always had.
But Kang Yuseong felt a taut tension emanating from them.
A tension so sharp it felt like a blade.
One step.
The moment he moved even a single step, that keen sensation would slice through Kang Yuseong.
Kang Yuseong nodded.
Simultaneously, his body shot forward with explosive force.
Instantly, dozens of blades assailed him.
Clang-clang-clang!
Intense sparks flew as a fierce battle erupted.
Kang Yuseong swung his sword wildly, cutting down the shadows. But the shadows were not easy opponents.
Their chain attacks were almost perfect, and Kang Yuseong couldn’t advance even an inch.
Yet, Kang Yuseong, like a ghost, found even the slightest opening, plunging his sword in and pressing forward.
Clang-clang-clang!
However, after each single attack, he had to endure several times that many in return, but the attacks he steadily landed were highly effective.
But now, time was running out.
He could feel his mental link with the corpses slowly fading.
Clang!
He suddenly swung his sword broadly, pushing one of the shadows back.
The moment the shadows lunged at him, a massive explosion erupted, centered on Kang Yuseong.
Boom-boom-boom!
Whoosh!
“Kueeagh!”
“Kuaaaak!”
The shadows, caught in the sudden explosion, were engulfed in hot flames and thrashed wildly.
“Vanish!”
Kang Yuseong hurled another blazing fireball from his hand towards them and roared.
Flash!
Crash—
The shadows were rapidly consumed by fire and fell.
Kang Yuseong strode through the gaps.
The sign, with white letters on a green background, was clearly visible.
Right here.
The root of evil in Chinatown, a disgusting, filthy nest of vile greed.
Operating Room.
That’s what the sign read.
Crash—
Kang Yuseong kicked the door.
Inside, several men in green surgical gowns and masks stopped what they were doing and stared blankly at him.
Kang Yuseong gritted his teeth.
The scene inside…
Countless people lay on beds, their limbs bound.
Some had large scars on their abdomens, while others lay dead with their stomachs cut open.
Organ trafficking.
This was the very place where those who went missing in Chinatown ultimately ended up.
No, not just Chinatown.
The Black Society organization had already secretly spread across the country, kidnapping individuals for organ trafficking, known as “logs.”
And…
These weren’t just ordinary people.
Most of them were Hunters from South Korea.
Their bodies, strengthened by acquiring Chakra Force, were being plundered in this manner.
Livers, kidneys, corneas, hearts — far superior to those of ordinary people…
There was no way they wouldn’t be profitable.
Kang Yuseong squeezed his eyes shut.
Seeing this scene, which he had only heard about in the news in the past, made his blood run cold for a moment.
“Bastards…”
A groan escaped his clenched teeth.
He had expected it, but the reality was far more horrific.
And…
He seethed with rage at these unavoidable occurrences.
Was it not because the nation was weak that no one dared to touch Chinatown?
Of course, no one could have even imagined such things were happening.
He slowly opened his eyes.
Fiery red flames ignited in his eyes.
“I’ll kill you all…”
His single declaration echoed.
