Chapter 83

Chapter 83

Whoosh!

But the monster was no pushover either.

Two of its six arms moved simultaneously, swinging clubs at Kang Yuseong as he approached.

Swoosh!

Kang Yuseong swayed slightly, riding the flow of air.

He had activated Chakra, Wind Flow. But the monster seemed to have anticipated even that, extending two more arms.

Whoosh!

It was a precise attack that instantly nullified the openings left by the previous two.

An ordinary person would have been flustered and taken a direct hit.

But Kang Yuseong was a prodigy of combat.

He didn’t fall for the monster’s intentions. Instead of dodging, he delved even deeper into its embrace.

Swish!

The last two remaining arms savagely slashed through the air.

All of this happened in the blink of an eye, yet Kang Yuseong evaded even that attack.

With his vision restored by Chakra, Abyssal Eye, he was able to dodge the monster’s attacks.

Shing!

He thrust his sword forward.

Aiming precisely for the monster’s chest.

Clang!

But in that instant, two iron clubs shot up from below, blocking Kang Yuseong’s extended sword. The monster, too, possessed exceptional skill.

However, Kang Yuseong immediately regained control of his deflected sword and slashed it sideways.

From the side, it would have looked like the sword, as soon as it was parried, instantly slashed through the air — that’s how swift his reaction was.

Clack!

But that attack, too, was batted away by an iron club that flew in from somewhere.

Yet, Kang Yuseong had already burrowed even deeper into the monster’s space.

Koooh—

And a strange power began to gather in his fist.

Boom!

A lightning-fast punch accurately struck the monster’s torso.

Noticing its massive body shake violently, Kang Yuseong caught up to it and kicked his leg upwards.

Chakra, Tiger’s Strike!

It was an ability he had acquired long ago, upon encountering Kim Jong-un in the Pyongyang Palace.

Whoosh!

In that instant, Kang Yuseong’s leg defied all laws of physics, soaring upwards with insane speed.

Boom!

The monster’s torso was violently shaken once more.

But Kang Yuseong frowned.

The monster was enduring this immense damage.

Whoosh—

Kang Yuseong immediately retreated.

Then, he stared intently at the monster.

As time passed, Abyssal Eye revealed the monster’s true form with increasing clarity.

At first, he hadn’t known due to the dense darkness, but the monster’s appearance, as perceived by Abyssal Eye now, was utterly horrific.

Of its six arms attached to its bulky torso, some were heavily muscled, while others were slender and delicate, appearing to belong to a woman.

In other words, each arm was distinct.

‘Well, well…’

And where the arms connected to the torso, there were large stitch marks. Those stitch marks weren’t confined to just that area.

Countless such scars covered the monster’s entire body.

As if the skin of various people had been forcibly sewn together.

Its face was an even greater spectacle.

The monster had a total of three heads, forcibly stitched together.

Six bloodshot eyeballs, looking ready to pop out at any moment, were visible, and some appeared to be decaying.

But Kang Yuseong realized that those three heads were the key to understanding its true nature, as revealed by Abyssal Eye.

‘Typical Necromancer… quite a morbid hobby.’

He subtly glanced around, and it was just as he’d expected.

The area was littered with countless corpses.

Some with severed arms, some legless, some with crushed heads…

Corpses, each with their own distinct cause of death, lay strewn everywhere.

The powerful grim energy and eeriness that made one’s skin crawl emanated directly from this place.

Kang Yuseong, who had been observing his surroundings, fixed his gaze back on the monster before him.

He had noticed something while landing punches and kicks on the monster.

‘Blunt force won’t work.’

Kang Yuseong had experienced countless battles.

Blunt force attacks would absolutely not work on this monster.

At least, with the blunt force techniques Kang Yuseong currently possessed, he couldn’t inflict damage upon it.

That was the conclusion Kang Yuseong had reached after carefully observing the monster.

The monster’s bulky body was composed of extremely thick layers of fat.

Thus, although it was pushed back by the impact, the thick layer of fat absorbed all the damage.

Ultimately, it meant he had to find a solution through means other than blunt force.

Even with a sword, inflicting a fatal wound on the monster seemed incredibly difficult.

Not only was the fat layer too thick, but if categorized by monster rank, it was AA-grade or higher.

This meant its attack power, as well as its defense, rivaled that of the AA-grade monster, Earth Dragon Gainok.

While its skin might be weaker than Gainok’s steel scales, it still seemed to require considerable effort.

Whoosh!

Kang Yuseong conjured flames.

Then there was only one way.

Truthfully, he hadn’t wanted to provoke whatever was here, not knowing its nature, but he had no choice.

‘Since it’s come to this…’

Kang Yuseong’s eyes, illuminated by the fire, were heavily tinged with murderous intent.

‘I’ll wipe them all out.’

Whoosh!

Fierce flames enveloped the sword crafted from Crydesicle.

Thump-thump!

And Kang Yuseong pushed off the ground again, charging at the monster.

Whoosh—

Seeing Kang Yuseong fly towards it, the monster responded by swinging its iron clubs.

The relentless attacks from its six arms were truly terrifying, but Kang Yuseong’s concentration was stronger than ever.

Swish!

With his vision secured, there was no reason to foolishly suffer the monster’s attacks.

Kang Yuseong brushed past its side, slashing his sword straight across.

Thick layers of fat were sliced by the sword’s keen edge, spewing disgusting bodily fluids.

However, what caused the monster extreme pain wasn’t the sword’s sharpness, but the flames emanating from it.

As the wound was cut and the flames surged and burrowed into it, the monster writhed wildly.

Thump!

At that moment, Kang Yuseong’s sword slashed through the air once more.

This time, one of the monster’s six arms!

The monster hastily raised an iron club to block the attack, but it was futile.

Kang Yuseong, riding the Wind Flow, sliced right through the arm holding the iron club as he passed.

Rip—

Sizzle!

“Kweeegh!”

As the arm, tightly sewn with stitches, tore away from its shoulder, the monster shrieked and thrashed. Its skin charred from the flames, emitting a repulsive stench.

Kang Yuseong smirked as his gambit paid off.

Even with a flame sword, piercing its hide to sever an arm didn’t seem easy.

But those stitches!

Though very tightly sewn, if he aimed precisely for those spots and cut them!

Having made up his mind, Kang Yuseong immediately put it into action, and the result was a resounding success, just as it was now.

Kang Yuseong adjusted his grip on the sword.

He had pinpointed the monster’s weakness.

Then, all that remained was to press the attack relentlessly.

Kang Yuseong stared intently at the monster.

The monster was probably in a state of extreme panic right now.

Because here, it was supreme, and likely would have remained so.

But encountering Kang Yuseong as an enemy was its greatest misfortune.

Because Kang Yuseong was here to obtain something crucial, and he had no intention of stopping.

Whoosh—

Having instantly severed the monster’s arm, Kang Yuseong dashed forward rapidly once more.

His target was none other than the stitch marks carved all over its body!

Directly piercing the monster’s fat was difficult, but cutting the threads that bound it together was not.

Slash!

Filthy bodily fluids splattered, and one side of the monster’s belly ripped wide open.

Truly, a perfectly accurate strike without an inch of error!

Moreover, the intense heat caused the monster’s skin to shrivel, revealing the sight within in stark detail.

The sight of thick layers of fat, as thick as an adult’s thumb, exposing its inner flesh was utterly gruesome.

Slash!

But Kang Yuseong, without hesitation, dashed again, mercilessly tearing through another stitched section.

Whoosh!

Then, he spun around and plunged his sword forcefully into the exposed flesh.

“Kwaaaaagh!”

The monster’s three heads shrieked in agony, struggling violently.

Being stabbed by the sword was painful, but the searing flames crackling and burning within it must have been even more agonizing.

“Haaagh!”

At that moment, an intense agony, making all previous pain seem like nothing, engulfed the monster.

CRA-CRACK-CRACK-CRACK!

The sword blade embedded in the monster’s body began to rotate furiously.

Chakra, Blade Twist!

It was a fearsome swordsmanship that widened and tore the wound, instantly turning it into a fatal injury.

“Gweeegh!”

The monster let out a bizarre sound, gurgling and spewing blood.

The sight of utterly putrid black blood simultaneously flowing from its three heads was nauseating to behold.

Crunch!

By the time the monster’s internal organs were all shredded and mangled, Kang Yuseong pulled out his sword.

The sword’s surface, thickly caked with blood and filth, quickly became pristine again. The flames had incinerated it.

“Gweeegh!”

The monster stood hunched over, trembling, seemingly without the strength to even wield its iron clubs.

Kang Yuseong grinned, watching its bulging eyeballs glare at him.

“Go back to where you belong.”

Koooh—!

In that instant, a massive fireball began to form in his hand.

A simple, yet by no means simple, fireball.

A colossal power said to annihilate all evil!

“This is the end!”

Whoosh!

Kang Yuseong hurled it with all his might.

CRA-CRACK-BOOM!

And a massive explosion erupted.

“Kweeeeeegh!”

Engulfed by scorching flames in an instant, the monster thrashed wildly.

Watching the monster flail its limbs, its entire body consumed by the agony of being burned alive, Kang Yuseong uttered coldly,

“So, are you going to show yourself now?”

No sooner had he finished speaking than black shadows began to stretch out from all directions.

A sight that made one’s entire body shiver…

But Kang Yuseong smiled coldly.

“As expected, you don’t disappoint.”

Kang Yuseong knew the true nature of those shadows.

The countless corpses lying on the ground.

They were rising.

Vwoom—

Kang Yuseong readjusted his grip on his sword.

Because he knew it was time for a frenzied sword dance.

“You know this much isn’t enough, don’t you?”

He turned around.

The immense evil he had sensed earlier.

The true form of that evil faintly appeared in his Abyssal Eye.

A tall, pale-faced man.

A figure clad in dark, leathery clothes, holding a skull in one hand.

A vast and malevolent black aura emanated from his entire body, controlling all the corpses in the area.

And then…

Koooh—!

Sizzle-sizzle-sizzle!

Kang Yuseong’s eyes also turned blood-red, and a torrent of dark energy burst forth from his entire body.

Necromancy.

A summoning art that strips corpses of their will and controls them.

Crack! Snap!

Some of the corpses that had been facing him until now turned around with difficulty, their bones creaking and groaning.

But as expected, it seemed he couldn’t match the original’s skill; countless corpses still stood facing Kang Yuseong, their eyes filled with resentment.

Kang Yuseong smirked at him.

“So… I guess I came to the right place. Good.”

Clench—

He gripped the sword hilt tightly.

“Come.”

His eyes gleamed with a fierce light.

“From now on, your power is mine.”
