Chapter 50
Chapter 50
Yeonwoo Han created a barrier with Ganansu at its center. Namsu Kang and Suui Kim also quickly entered the barrier. Fortunately, the barrier functioned as it should. Clang! Ka-clang! Clang! Numerous blades crashed against his barrier and were thrown off. The problem, however, lay with Yeonwoo Han’s magic. Suui Kim asked,
“Are you going to be okay with your magic power?”
“It’s actually a bit ambiguous.”
He had already used up most of his magic power in the battle outside and was relying on potions to replenish it. Fortunately, the timid Ganansu had brought a lot of potions, which was a relief, but the Entity also had its limits. Suui Kim took a moment to look around as soon as a gap appeared. In the distance, a very high platform was visible, and something was stuck in it.
‘What is that? A sword?’
A sword with an ornate hilt was stuck in the platform. Suui Kim instinctively knew. It was a hidden item, and pulling it out would stop this situation. But the problem was these countless descending blades. He could bet everything that his whole body would be cut to pieces before he could get through them.
“Yeonwoo!”
“Yes, brother!”
“How much longer do you think you can last?”
“At most 30 minutes.”
“Can you pour some healing skills on me if I move over there?”
“It’s possible, but then I’d have to use a dual skill, which would drain more magic power. So the instant barrier might disappear.”
“You just need to hold out until I pull out that sword.”
“A sword?”
Only now did the party members, who had discovered the sword stuck on the high platform in the distance, widen their eyes. The sword, stuck like the hero’s holy sword, exuded a majestic atmosphere. It felt as if everything would be resolved if only that were pulled out. Yeonwoo Han nodded.
“I’ll… I’ll try.”
“Okay, please do.”
“Be careful.”
“Be… be careful.”
Namsu Kang and Ganansu cheered him on. Suui Kim nodded, took a stance to burst out of the barrier, exchanged a look with Yeonwoo Han, and then immediately darted outside. And in an instant, he was confronted by blades that swiftly cut into his body.
“Not yet!”
“Yes!”
Suui Kim was struck by blades in his shoulder, back, and arms, but he didn’t pay attention and pushed forward. His sprint was fast, but the flying blades were even faster.
“Guh!”
[Casting the healing skill!] [Recovering the target’s wounds!]
As soon as a blade grazed his neck and a gush of blood poured out, Yeonwoo Han quickly used a healing skill. The barrier shook for a moment, but fortunately, it didn’t disappear. Suui Kim almost fell forward but managed to regain his balance and started moving forward. Thump, thump, thump. His steps, far from slowing down, only became faster. This was the best way to save his party members from danger. And he thought, it was a good thing Cho-i Hyeon wasn’t here. He thought if she had been, she would have saved them by mutilating her own body again.
‘More importantly, where did she go?’
The fact that Cho-i Hyeon was not visible despite having come this far meant that she had entered the Land of Devils on the right, not the land on the left. While he was lost in thought, the blades further mutilated his body. Even healing skills could no longer keep up with the speed, and his entire body was soaked in blood, and the damage went straight through, causing the wounds to widen rather than heal. Pain overwhelmed him.
‘Don’t stop!’
He lifted his head and tried to move further forward. The path he had run was stained with blood. But just as he lifted his head to move further, a blade came rushing right in front of his eyes.
‘I can’t avoid it.’
That was the thought that came to him in that instant. It was too late to duck his head and too late to pull his body back. He could do nothing in that fleeting moment as the blade that would end his life came right before his eyes. But then. Snap! A Black Hand shot up from the ground and grabbed the blade flying towards him. It wasn’t just one or two. One, two, three, four. Hundreds of Black Hands shot up from the ground and caught the flying blades. Some of them were cut by the blades, but the number of flying blades began to decrease significantly. And from a distance, footsteps were heard.
“Hey, why did you follow me all the way here?”
Hair matted like a clump of blood. Clothes and face stained crimson. And streaks of blood like tear stains under her eyes. It was the appearance of Cho-i Hyeon.
“Hey! Are you going to mess around? Not there, the blades!”
As the party members stared blankly at Cho-i Hyeon, Cho-i roared. Ganansu’s hand, which had been subtly trying to attack, withdrew, and he could see it gripping a blade and moving it wildly.
“Hey, hey. Get in, get in! If we were any later, we would have all been screwed. Do you have any sense or not?”
“Now, is that what you should be saying?”
“You’re completely messed up, completely messed up. You can’t even block the tip of the blade. Go pull it out quickly!”
“Alright!”
Suui Kim, dragging his bloodied body, began to run. And in an instant, he leaped to climb onto the platform high in the distance. Thump. He stood on the platform and soon touched the sword’s hilt.
“Can I really…”
“Take this? Stop that nonsense and pull it out!”
Cho-i Hyeon shouted.
“Oh, that’s really something.”
“That’s right, brother! You pull it out!”
“Anyway, you’re the only one who can use a sword!”
“Damn it, I’m really pulling it out!”
“Go for it!”
Under Cho-i Hyeon’s less-than-supportive encouragement, Suui Kim grabbed the hilt of the magnificent sword and pulled it out with a whoosh. There was no resistance. The sword, thus pulled out, gleamed with a pure white light, and its tip appeared sharper than any other sword in the world. Gulp. Suui Kim unknowingly swallowed dry. He had never touched such an item in his life. While Suui Kim was zoning out, Cho-i Hyeon squinted and examined the item.
[Angel’s Last Divine Sword (SS Rank)] [Strength +77777 Agility +77777…] [This is the last famous sword left by the Angels. Your stats are permanently increased.]
‘What? The stats are better than mine?’
As soon as he drew the sword, all the blades instantly stopped and fell to the floor. Fortunately, the barrier was still faintly active, so the party members were not injured. Suui Kim was still dazed. Cho-i Hyeon cackled and shouted.
“Oh dear! He’s losing his mind just because he got something!”
“I, I never!”
“Now, you idiot!”
“What? Idiot?”
Cho-i walked purposefully, stepping on the floor where blades were scattered, and began to approach the party members. As she got closer, people were utterly astonished. She looked as if she had been forged from hardened blood.
“W-w-what on earth did you do!”
“What did I do? I got a hidden item, too.”
“Are, are you hurt anywhere?”
Cho-i blinked. It was awkward that they asked about her injuries instead of the hidden item first. So Cho-i asked something else.
“Why did you follow me all the way here? You know how dangerous hidden dungeons are. And how did you even find this place?”
Just then, Suui Kim, who had put away his sword and approached, spoke with a deep frown.
“Of course, I found it when I came to save you! The kid was dragged into the cave, should I have just watched from outside?”
“Is that so?”
I thought he would have run away. Choi grinned. But he didn’t say it out loud because he thought Suui Kim would go wild again.
“More importantly. Aren’t you upset? Only I and Suui Kim the hunter got the hidden item.”
Then Suui Kim also looked at the party members, not Choi. The party members shook their heads with a calm expression. Of course, Ganansu was excluded since he knew he hadn’t done anything here.
“You stepped up and got it, brother. I can’t jump between those blades.”
“Same here.”
Namsu Kang also cleanly admitted it. Suui Kim scratched his cheek awkwardly, and his wound opened. Yeonwoo Han went to hit his back but saw there were also wounds on his back, so she just cast a healing skill. Choi looked at his tattered state and became curious.
“You could have died, how did you step up there?”
“Then, if we stayed like this, everyone would die, so should I just stand by?”
“It could have been a pointless death, right?”
“Oh, you little brat, listen to what you’re saying. Still, you have to try something.”
“What if I die then?”
“Someone else would do something.”
Choi slowly blinked. Even her eyelids were heavy due to the blood covering her entire body. It was also sticky. She vaguely felt that there was a strong trust between them. And also that she was somehow included in it.
“…Even though it’s over once you die.”
“Why do you talk as if you’re not? You’re also done once you die, man. So take care of your body.”
“I’m not?”
Choi giggled and sharply hit Suui Kim’s shoulder, which hadn’t fully healed yet.
“Ow!”
“Hahaha.”
Choi ran away, and Suui Kim tried to chase her but was caught by Yeonwoo Han’s hand.
“Get all your healing done first!”
Suui Kim gritted his teeth and slumped down, and Yeonwoo Han continued the rest of the treatment.
“Choi the hunter, come here too. Let me see your wounds. You’re covered in so much blood I can’t even tell.”
“I’m fine. No wounds.”
“There you go again. Come here quickly.”
“But I really am…”
Choi ran away, then came back in front of Yeonwoo Han and sat down next to Suui Kim. Suui Kim, who was receiving treatment, clicked his tongue, then reached out and began to wipe away the bloodstains from Choi Hyeon’s face, which was covered in blood. Well, there was so much blood that it didn’t wipe off well.
“Tsk, hey, I’m fine, just look at her first.”
Suui Kim said, looking at Choi Hyeon’s tear stains. Actually, they weren’t tear stains but bloodstains from her eye being gouged out, but it was a bit awkward to explain that.
“No, I’m really fine…”
[Casting the healing skill!] [Recovering the target’s wounds!]
But Yeonwoo Han didn’t listen. Unable to tell where she was hurt, he poured as much magic into her as he could. Cho-i tried to stop him, but then fell into thought with the mindset of, ‘Fine, do what you want.’ She then replayed the moment she obtained the item.
