Chapter 241 – Fenrir Raid (Two)
Chapter 241 – Fenrir Raid (2)
The tattoo on his arm resonated with a crimson glow, emitting light.
The human souls bound within it, the talisman forged from the blood and fat of the strong, channeled infinite power into him.
A swing of his sword could slay a dragon; a punch to the ground could split it asunder.
This was why Ian had chosen the greatsword as his main weapon.
His strength was so immense that ordinary weapons would break in less than a day.
Thus, he preferred weapons that were as unbreakable as possible, with high durability.
*Shhhwiit!*
The massive greatsword cut through the air as swiftly as a rapier.
Hyunbin deflected Ian’s sword. Taking it head-on would shatter even his two-handed sword.
Ian resonated with the talisman etched on his body.
Hyunbin’s counterattacking two-handed sword struck his body.
But a crimson force field blocked the attack.
Ian resonated with the talisman etched on his legs.
He appeared behind Hyunbin before he could even register it, launching a surprise attack.
*Kwaang!*
A noise too loud to be the mere clash of swords erupted.
Hyunbin, who had barely blocked the attack, was pushed back.
It was a shame he couldn’t inflict a wound. But he could see the HP Shield taking damage.
It didn’t matter. He hadn’t planned on killing him easily anyway.
Ian stretched out his hand.
A crimson orb formed in his palm, generating a magnetic field.
He activated the skill.
*Kwaaa!*
Crimson lightning shot out in a straight line like a railgun, crushing the ground like tofu as it passed.
Thunderbolt.
A transcendent skill only usable by Hero.
Hyunbin looked at his two-handed sword.
*Pajit!*
The two-handed sword cracked and then shattered completely.
It was the impact from blocking the Thunderbolt just now.
Ian bared his teeth and smiled.
As the seals on his talismans were released one by one, power surged through him. An overwhelming strength that would lose to no one.
His eyes, too, now shone with a crimson light. And from his back, a black mist began to creep and rise.
His magical energy could no longer be contained within his body and started to leak out.
It soon transformed into the shape of wings.
“That form…!”
Seeing Ian’s changed appearance, the allied hunters murmured amongst themselves.
Because he looked just like a demon.
“Now, let’s have some fun. First Hero.”
“You’ve been getting your ass kicked this whole time. Why are you so excited now?”
Hyunbin retorted sarcastically, pulling a longsword from his inventory.
“You have the holy sword, don’t you? Bring it out.”
“It’d be a waste.”
“You’ll regret that.”
Ian said, charging at Hyunbin.
His movements were too fast to be seen. Ian had now become a being far beyond human.
In terms of monster rank, his power was equivalent to a 6-star.
Ian’s greatsword slashed diagonally at Hyunbin. Hyunbin deflected the attack and cut Ian’s shoulder.
“It’s useless!”
The sturdy HP Shield neutralized the damage from Hyunbin’s cut.
Ian didn’t think about defense, unleashing a relentless barrage of attacks.
Every time his sword swung, the air screamed, and the ground shattered, sending debris flying into the air.
Amidst that terrifying assault, Hyunbin thrust his longsword forward.
Ian ignored the incoming attack and swung his own sword in a wide horizontal arc.
Just then, Hyunbin withdrew his sword and dodged to the side.
*Kwaang!*
Fenrir’s massive forepaw slammed down where Hyunbin had been standing.
Seeing this, Ian frowned.
He had been enjoying himself, and he was displeased by the interruption.
“What do you think you’re doing, Quasar?”
-There is no time for games.
“I have a right to enjoy myself too, Quasar.”
-Enjoy yourself?
A low chuckle escaped from Fenrir.
-I can see it. You cannot handle him alone.
With those words, Quasar let out a furious roar.
At his shout, the hunters covered their ears in pain, while the monsters’ eyes lit up as they began to howl in response.
He had commanded his slaves to slaughter the humans at once.
The battle, which had paused for a moment, regained its vigor.
Danny, having rested briefly, had recovered his mana and summoned his Legion.
To allow him to command his soldiers freely, Henri and Audrey acted as escorts, striking down the traitors who swarmed around them.
Ian was displeased.
He had wanted to toy with and kill the first Hero in front of everyone.
-First, we kill that thing.
“Don’t give me orders. I am the master.”
Ian openly showed his displeasure.
This creature, once nothing more than a pet received from the Demon King, had grown and was now acting as if it were the master.
‘Should I dispose of it after this battle?’
He had enjoyed using Quasar until now. It was still useful. But since it kept trying to defy his control, he needed to put it back in its place.
“Infighting?”
Hyunbin emerged from the dust cloud, patting the dirt off himself.
He was still without a single scratch.
Seeing this, Ian’s brow furrowed.
“Who’s the boss between you two?”
“I am the one chosen to be the ruler of this dimension.”
“Nah, he looks like he’s higher up the food chain. Haven’t you sorted out your pecking order yet? Want to fight it out first?”
“Why don’t you try surviving me first?”
Ian said, raising his magical energy even further. Seeing this, Fenrir spoke.
-Don’t be foolishly drawn in by his provocations.
“Shut up.”
Ian commanded Fenrir.
Seeing this, Hyunbin laughed and whistled.
“What’s this? You haven’t obedience trained it yet? When you raise a pet, you’re supposed to start with obedience training.”
“Are you running your mouth because you keep getting beaten? Is that how you achieved your so-called salvation?”
“Not quite.”
Hyunbin let out a short laugh.
Then he stomped his foot on the ground.
*Thump!*
A net made of hexa blocks began to glow, spreading out in all directions with him at the center.
-Entering Phase 1.
Inside the barrier Hyunbin created, the monsters staggered in agony. The same went for Ian’s Royal Guard and the traitors.
Hyunbin began to suppress all beings hostile to him.
-Entering Phase 2.
A faint afterimage of light, glowing with magical energy, appeared in Hyunbin’s eyes.
Ian, oblivious to the situation, leisurely twirled his greatsword like a dagger and charged at Hyunbin as if taking flight.
*Vwoom!*
The greatsword he swung horizontally tore through the air.
But once again, Hyunbin was not cut.
“…!”
Ian saw the longsword piercing his right thigh.
Nothing seemed to have changed, yet Hyunbin’s attack power was different.
Rather than pulling out the longsword embedded in his leg, Ian swung his sword to strike Hyunbin’s neck.
*Vwoom!*
He swung his sword with all his might, like a home run batter, but once again, he only cut through empty air.
*Puk!*
This time, a black-lacquered Four Tiger Sword pierced his left leg.
With both legs pierced and pinned to the ground, he looked like a mounted insect specimen.
“You bastard!”
With both legs incapacitated, Ian brought his sword down again to cleave Hyunbin’s body.
But Hyunbin dodged the blade and snatched his wrist.
*Thwack!*
While snatching the greatsword, Hyunbin simultaneously struck Ian’s face with an elbow blow.
Then, he quickly dodged backward.
*Kwaang!*
In that instant, Fenrir’s massive forepaw slammed down where Hyunbin had been.
Caught in the shockwave, Ian was pelted by stone fragments.
“You idiotic furbag!”
Ian cursed at Quasar, wiping the dust from his eyes with the back of his hand.
At that moment, he saw something unbelievable.
Hyunbin, holding a monomolecular sword as thin as paper, was running up Fenrir’s foreleg, slashing relentlessly.
Every time he swung his sword, flesh scattered and blood spurted.
-This… fool…!
Fenrir watched Hyunbin climb its body, butchering it.
Ian had released his talismans and, intoxicated by his own power, had failed to even gauge his opponent.
Hyunbin was an unbelievable monster. He was still hiding a great deal of his power.
Just a short while ago, it had been stronger than Hyunbin. But now, the difference in their power was clear.
In other words, even teaming up with Ian wouldn’t be enough.
Quasar aimed all the tentacles sprouting from its body at Hyunbin.
*Shk, shk!*
The monomolecular sword mercilessly butchered Quasar’s tentacles and body.
As twitching tentacles tumbled to the ground in all directions, Hyunbin had already climbed onto Quasar’s body.
*Tahat!*
Before anyone realized, Hyunbin had leaped onto Fenrir’s head.
He discarded the monomolecular sword, which had shattered from lost durability, and gripped a new weapon from his inventory: Ian’s greatsword.
-Hero…!
Fenrir roared as if cursing, unleashing a barrage of absorbed modern weaponry to shake Hyunbin off.
But it couldn’t harm Hyunbin, who had already transitioned to Phase 2.
*Kwaang!*
The sound of Fenrir’s head shattering under Hyunbin’s Sword Breaker skill echoed out.
The Royal Guard and the traitors watched the scene, speechless.
Hyunbin aimed at Fenrir’s head and used Thunderbolt.
His Phase 2 Thunderbolt exploded, reminiscent of a railgun blast.
*Kwaaaang!*
Fragments of Fenrir’s flesh flew in all directions.
Watching Hyunbin walk calmly out from the rain of debris falling like autumn leaves, Danny clenched his fists without realizing it.
“Yes!”
“Hey, hey. I knew you had it in you, Binnie!”
Henri’s face finally brightened.
As expected, Hyunbin was the strongest.
“That man… what in the world…”
Jan Michael muttered weakly.
A single person had changed everything.
“What else? He’s a savior.”
Emily said with a smile, placing a hand on Jan’s shoulder.
The tide of the battle had completely turned.
Amidst it all, Hyunbin calmly walked toward Ian and spoke.
“I got revenge for you with your own sword. Aren’t you grateful?”
Seeing this, Ian’s body trembled slightly.
It was a reality he didn’t want to accept.
The rumors that had circulated about the first Hero. The moment when all the talk about how the second Hero couldn’t even compare to the first became reality.
“Thunderbolt…!”
Ian gathered all his energy and fired it directly at Hyunbin.
*Pajijik-!*
A vast crimson lightning bolt engulfed Hyunbin.
Seeing this, Ian smiled faintly.
Unlike the previous Thunderbolt, this one was a release of layered and concentrated power.
He thought that no matter how monstrously strong Hyunbin was, he couldn’t possibly survive this.
“Why are you smiling? Did something good happen?”
“…!”
Ian launched a skill at Hyunbin, who had appeared behind him.
The corrupted demonic energy writhed like a living snake, but it couldn’t hit Hyunbin.
“I’ll give it right back.”
Hyunbin thrust the greatsword forward.
Ian tried to dodge in resistance, but his legs wouldn’t move.
He looked down and saw the two swords pinning his legs.
*Pergeok!*
The sword Hyunbin brought down cleaved Ian’s body in two.
-If the first Sir Hero were here, a bastard like you would be nothing…!
After making a pact with the Demon King Gamigin, he had wiped out all the castle nobles who displeased him.
The last words of someone he’d heard back then suddenly came to mind at this very moment.
Even his body, hard as steel, was meaningless against Hyunbin’s attack.
Ian began to crumble like sand.
Seeing the sight, Henri smiled. As expected of Hyunbin.
Just as he had vowed to wipe out all the trash from the Union, he had taken the head of their leader, Ian.
“Waaaaaah!”
The hunter branded as a Villain in Korea was being cheered on enthusiastically by the hunters of the European Union.
Hyunbin looked at Ian’s cold, lifeless corpse.
His work here was now finished.
He no longer had a role to play in this other world.
And so, Hyunbin planted the greatsword in Ian’s corpse like a gravestone and vanished amidst the roaring crowd.
***
Ian’s Royal Guard and the traitors were all captured.
Furthermore, all of the Union’s deeds were brought to light, and the organization completely fell apart.
The founding of a new Union.
The head of the alliance became Danny McGuire, who promised to create a union for true world peace.
The hunters who witnessed the unprecedented great battle in France searched for the whereabouts of the Korean Monster.
For he was Europe’s hero.
But after that, no one could find him.
