Chapter 93 – Olivier’s Romance (Two)

Chapter 93 – Olivier's Romance (2)

Olivier goes into her home.

The stalker watches Olivier go into her home from the first floor.

He isn’t following her, just watching her go?

Is it a small mercy that he doesn’t follow her right to her door?

He watched from below as Olivier got on the elevator and rode it up.

After seeing her open her door and go inside, the stalker began to move again.

Towards the officetel where Olivier lives.

I couldn’t just let it be, so I deactivated my camouflage and grabbed the stalker’s shoulder.

I could feel the stalker flinch in surprise through my fingertips as I suddenly grabbed his shoulder from behind.

“Wh-who?”

“My, my, who are you following so intently?”

“F-following who? Wh-what’s with this guy? In such a suspicious outfit!”

The stalker, who had fallen in surprise, actually started blaming me.

This is ridiculous.

Calling my Justice Armor suspicious. He’s the suspicious one.

“I saw you following that woman.”

“Wh-who? Me?”

“Yes, you. I’ve been watching the whole time. The crime has been fully recorded. Kim Min-a. Right?”

Hearing my words, the stalker’s face filled with panic.

“Whatever your intentions, to the other person, it’s a nuisance and a threat. Do you understand?”

“I-I’m so sorry!”

At the mention of evidence, the man dropped to his knees and bowed his head.

Thank goodness he’s not a complete psycho. Judging by his actions.

“First, let me see your face.”

The man didn’t resist and took off his hat and sunglasses.

“Huh.”

A square jaw with visible stubble, a barcode-like hairstyle. And uncomfortably long eyelashes.

“Sir, may I ask your age…?”

I wondered if something was wrong.

“T-twenty-seven.”

In his twenties?

“Did a time machine hit you in the face?”

“What?”

He had the kind of face that made you use honorifics instinctively. That’s the kind of man he was.

“I-I’m ugly, aren’t I…?”

“What?”

“I know. I know how hideous I look….”

Uh, I didn’t say anything, but he’s suddenly spiraling.

“But I like her so much. I fell in love at first sight…. When I close my eyes, I see her face, and her smile flickers in my mind.”

“Ah, I see.”

“I know I shouldn’t be doing this, but….”

The man sobbed, staring at the ground.

I patted the sobbing man’s shoulder.

It seemed he was just a pure-hearted man who genuinely liked Olivier.

A naive young man who couldn’t even muster the courage to confess to the person he likes.

Still, this was unacceptable.

“I’m sorry. Never again…. I’ll never even look at her again.”

The barcode hairstyle kept flickering in my vision, and it was unsettling.

What kind of hard life did he live to be like this at only twenty-seven….

Suddenly, my own hair follicles started to feel itchy. I have to be careful. I have to prevent it.

“How pathetic.”

At my cold words, the man’s shoulders slumped even further.

His self-esteem must have hit rock bottom because of that barcode hair.

A person is more than just their appearance.

So much is contained within the form of a person. Personality, speech, demeanor, and so on.

The face is just one factor.

“Was your affection really so shallow?”

“N-no, that’s not what I….”

“If a man draws his sword, he should at least try to stab a radish.”

“…!”

The man’s eyes widened in surprise at my words. But only for a moment.

He soon lowered his gaze, his expression bleak, and muttered self-deprecatingly.

“Like my hair, my will has also fallen away. Sir, how could someone like me ever talk to her?”

Honestly, he wasn’t Olivier’s type.

In that other world, the Demon King was bald. That’s why I remember Olivier never even had a spark with him.

To Olivier, who hated bald men, this man’s confession would surely fail. But he liked her this much. Was it really right for him to just hide these frustrating feelings?

Wouldn’t it be better to confess cleanly and get rejected cleanly?

“If your hair is falling out, you can get it transplanted.”

“…!”

“If a hair transplant isn’t an option, you can wear a wig.”

“!”

“If your spirit is weak, you just have to make it stronger.”

“!”

At my words, the stalker looked up at me with eyes full of emotion.

“I will reshape your mental state. Come with me.”

“Sir….”

“I will make you a true man.”

The stalker took my hand and stood up.

It’s a bit of a cringey line, but it comes out naturally when I’m wearing the Justice Armor.

I can say with certainty that this suit is the most perfect substance in existence.

* * *

Three days passed.

I decided to rehabilitate the stalker.

Conveniently, I had a training ground that I ran with the director of the Star Center.

Of course, you can’t change a person with short-term training.

He still had barcode hair and a square jaw.

But he was no longer a man without courage.

Two nights and three days of hellish training had changed him.

“Who are we talking about when we say trash?”

“Me, sir!”

“What day is today?”

“D-Day, sir!”

“That’s right. It’s finally D-Day.”

“Yes, sir!”

The stalker—no, the newly reborn lover—looked at me from a sharp position of attention.

The gloomy, unconfident man from just a few days ago was gone.

Now, his eyes were strong enough to face any raging wave, filled with a will of steel.

“Until now, you were an insect.”

“Yes, sir!”

“But now, you will emerge.”

“Yes, sir!”

“Are you ready to become a butterfly?”

“Ready, sir!”

He’s prepared.

“Go.”

It was almost time for Olivier to get off work.

* * *

Olivier felt that something was strange.

‘Could something have happened to him?’

She’d asked him to catch the stalker, and then he’d completely vanished.

She had tried calling, but he didn’t answer. She even sent a message, but there was no reply. It didn’t seem like he was unconscious or physically injured.

‘What kind of trick is this?’

She couldn’t imagine anyone being able to harm the great Hero.

‘Still, villains have been active lately. No way….’

Even if he was the Hero, he could be in danger if villains used dirty tricks.

Just as she decided she should try to track the Hero’s whereabouts…

“Huh?”

A call came from the Hero.

“Hello?”

-Are you on your way home from work?

It was the Hero’s voice.

His voice sounded perfectly fine.

Olivier realized her worrying had been for nothing.

Feeling a bit exasperated, she laughed softly and chided the Hero.

“What the hell? Where did you disappear to?”

-I was just educating the stalker a bit.

The stalker had indeed disappeared after the Hero vanished.

She had thought that might be the case.

“Seriously. You could have at least said something. I thought you’d been taken out by the stalker.”

-Me? Come on.

Well, that was true.

Thinking that, Olivier let out a dry laugh.

“So, it seems you handled it well.”

-Of course. It’s been taken care of perfectly.

For once, he seemed to have handled something well on his own.

It looked like she wouldn’t have to worry on her way home anymore.

To think the Hero could actually be useful sometimes.

Olivier decided to express her gratitude.

“Where are you? I should at least buy you a meal for helping me out.”

-A meal? No, it’s fine. It’s not over yet.

Not over yet?

Olivier wondered what the Hero meant.

-He’ll be there soon.

“What? What do you mean?”

-If you like someone, you should at least confess before backing down.

“Huh?”

Olivier sensed that the Hero’s switch had been flipped over something strange.

At that moment, she saw a silhouette in the distance.

It was the stalker.

-Don’t worry. He’s just going to confess and then back off.

“I don’t think so. It looks like a switch has been flipped in his eyes.”

-A switch? Yeah, it’s been flipped. The one called ‘manhood.’

“Wh-what are you talking about?”

The barcode-haired, square-jawed fatty started charging toward her like a tank.

A cry of “Oh my god!” escaped Olivier’s lips.

Before she knew it, she had started to run.

-Don’t run, Olivier. Accept a man’s heartfelt confession.

“Y-you crazy bastard!”

This was no time to be leisurely chatting on the phone.

The man was faster than she expected.

Olivier also ran with all her might. She could feel the man’s movements as he chased her from behind.

At this rate, she’d be caught.

Olivier called out to passersby for help.

“You there, in the white t-shirt! You in the jeans! Help me, it’s a pervert!”

At Olivier’s plea for help, the man in the white t-shirt and the man in jeans turned around.

Seeing the stalker charging fiercely toward Olivier, the two men burned with a sense of justice and duty.

“I, a 3rd-dan in judo, am here!”

“Thank goodness, for I, a 4th-dan in kendo, was here!”

It seemed the people she had called out to happened to be black belts.

Olivier felt a sense of relief.

However.

“Kgh, damn it. I can’t do a throw on this asphalt.”

“If only I had my wooden sword…!”

Having subdued the two black belts, the stalker was charging again like the Terminator.

“Oh, my god!”

Startled, Olivier ran again.

She took out caltrops from her inventory and threw them behind her.

The stalker swiftly dodged the caltrops and kept running.

Having no choice, she threw a smoke bomb. Still, the stalker charged through the smoke like a runaway train that couldn’t be stopped.

“What on earth did you do to make a person change like that?!”

Olivier burst out in anger at the Hero.

She barely made it to the entrance of her officetel. She quickly locked the reinforced glass door and ran to the elevator, mashing the button.

‘Hurry, hurry.’

The stalker arrived.

He tried to open the reinforced glass door, but Olivier had locked it.

He pressed his face against the glass door. Then he started licking it with his tongue.

‘N-no.’

Olivier felt a terror that sent shivers down her entire body.

Even though she had been part of the Demon King’s army, she had once transferred to a special unit composed of succubi because she hated being in the same division as a disgusting tribe.

The stalker seemed to give up and walked away.

Seeing this, Olivier let out a quiet sigh of relief.

In that instant.

The man turned around and started running.

Olivier thought, ‘No way,’ but that ‘no way’ was exactly what happened.

The man curled his body into a ball and slammed himself into the reinforced glass door.

Crash!

The reinforced glass door shattered, and the stalker walked toward Olivier, crunching over the glass shards.

Step, step.

She didn’t know why the elevator was taking so long to come down today.

His eyes looked completely crazed. He seemed ready to do anything.

Olivier swallowed hard.

She glanced to the side and saw a chubby woman staring at the stalker with a terrified expression.

‘First, I can’t let other people get hurt.’

I have to run again. But if I do, he might harm someone else nearby.

Having thought that far, Olivier swallowed hard and forced an awkward smile.

“U-um….”

“Unmanly as it was, I couldn’t speak to you face-to-face and only followed your shadow from behind.”

It was starting.

“The first time I saw you, it was love at first sight. The second time I saw you, I fell for both your eyes.”

Olivier felt her whole body cringe.

She had no idea what would happen if she rejected him here.

The stalker was confessing to her with crazed eyes.

“I love you, Ms. Kim Min-a.”

“Ah, um….”

Was it because of her unique succubus allure?

Even now, born as a human, she was always surrounded by men.

In school, and at work.

Sometimes men fought over her, and other women were jealous.

Still, Olivier believed it was best to give an honest answer to any man who said he liked her.

“I’m sorry, but….”

“I-I’m so happy.”

Olivier suddenly saw the chubby woman next to her cover her mouth, her eyes welling up with tears.

The stalker lifted his head, looking deeply moved.

“Huh?”

Olivier blinked.

The stalker and the other Kim Min-a, who had been standing next to her, clasped hands and began laughing joyfully together.

Olivier racked her brain.

Come to think of it, she remembered there was another woman in the officetel with the same name as her.

And thinking harder, it seemed that woman was her next-door neighbor.

Thinking even more, the chubby woman looked very familiar.

As they worked in the same office building, their commute times were similar. Even the direction of their workplaces.

Ding.

The elevator arrived on the first floor.

Quietly, Olivier let the elevator doors close and went back outside.

Outside, the Hero was standing with his arms crossed, wearing his Justice Armor.

The guy was nodding his head in satisfaction.

Olivier took a kitchen knife out of her inventory.

“Olivier?”

“Hee hee.”

“Olivier?”

“Hee hee hee.”

Olivier approached the Hero, smiling.

When the Hero took a step back, she took two steps forward.

When the Hero turned and ran, she began to sprint.
