Chapter 80

Chapter 80

⚙ GOD’S SHOP ⚙

Lv. 4

The system window had gotten a bit flashier now that it was Level 4, and the sales list popped up.

[Teensy Potion – Free]

[Appearance Change Potion – 100C]

[Permanent Inventory Expansion – 10000C]

[Satiety Potion – 1000C]

[Blindness Potion – 2000C]

[Stamina Recovery Potion – 100C]

[Magical ID Badge – 2000C]

[Galactic Server Inventory Key – 20000C]

[Galactic Server Skill Key – 30000C]

These were the same ones from Level 3. I kept scrolling down.

[Ultimate Enhancer – 100000C]

And I froze at the very first new item. How much? One, ten, hundred, thousand, ten thousand… a hundred thousand coins?

What the hell costs a hundred thousand coins?

[Ultimate Enhancer: For 10 minutes, borrows the stats of ‘Hunter Shin Yuri (S)’ from the galactic server and overlays them on your current stats.]

Oh.

It definitely made you stronger. But ten minutes for a hundred thousand coins?

“My, I’m so expensive.”

Renting out stats at ten thousand coins per minute? What a steal.

[Wooden Doll – 5000C]

[A wooden doll that can stand in for a specific person for a set time. Indistinguishable from the real thing until the target strikes it directly.]

Seemed useful, but ultimately pointless. A Shin Jae-heon exclusive for sneaking out?

Or maybe for me to slip away without an excuse for going stealth?

Thinking about it that way, it actually seemed pretty useful.

[Magnifying Potion – 3000C]

[View others’ system windows (stats). (During eye contact, max 10 seconds)]

Why peek at someone else’s system window?

Well, you might get curious about their specs. This one seemed kinda useful too.

[Sneaky Sneak Potion – 1000C]

[Reduces your presence. Effect limited by rank difference between you and the target.]

In other words, an item that lets you hide your presence even from someone of higher rank than you.

But couldn’t I just hit S-rank first? Did I really need a potion to mask my presence?

The Level 4 shop lineup felt kinda iffy. That was when I raised an eyebrow.

And then the long-awaited final item caught my eye.

[Daily Quest Change Potion (Random) – 7777C]

[Changes the daily quest reward. (Random application, usable once per day)]

Meaning I could swap out that daily 10% stamina boost for something else?

This potion was tempting.

Stamina was piling up and becoming a problem anyway. My afterimage skill—the main dealer—relied on mana, so I needed more mana, but there weren’t good ways to boost it.

The issue was the random part.

Just pull until something good comes out, right?

Random always meant 100% success if you kept pulling till it dropped.

“Alright.”

Finished window-shopping at God’s Shop and closed the system window.

The moment I did, my eyes met Shin Jae-heon’s—he was perched right on the horse’s head.

“Wh-wh-what?!”

I yelped in shock, and the horse nearly stumbled.

I barely calmed it down, and there was still-miniature knight-mode Shin Jae-heon, legs crossed, asking,

“What’s got you grinning like that since earlier?”

“Ah.”

I’d totally forgotten he was there and muttered to myself at length.

“God’s Shop leveled up.”

“Ooh.”

Interest flickered across Shin Jae-heon’s face. The wooden doll suddenly popped into my mind, so I told him,

“Found an item perfect for you.”

“What is it?”

Sure enough, he uncrossed his legs and blinked.

That innocently curious expression wasn’t something you saw every day.

Rare expressions always begged to be teased.

I grinned.

“Secret.”

“Hey.”

He shot up from his seat, the horse wobbled, and he staggered.

I savored his glaring for a good while before explaining the wooden doll.

“Something like that exists, huh.”

His reaction was priceless.

He stuck out his hand.

“How much?”

Dead serious face.

I lightly tapped that tiny hand.

“Not for sale.”

“Why???”

“Coins all tapped out~.”

“Let’s hit a dungeon together.”

The way he clung on looked downright desperate.

Politics really didn’t suit this guy.

Empire wouldn’t collapse before we got home, right?

◇◇◇◆◇◇◇

Shin Jae-heon and I returned safely.

He went back to the imperial palace—despite hating it so much—and I headed to the Edelweiss estate.

‘So how much for the doll?’

Shin Jae-heon couldn’t let it go till the end.

‘Told you, need coins.’

‘I’ll scout a dungeon I can hit soon.’

And then he dropped a line that would make the imperial chamberlain faint.

‘Gonna buy like ten and station ’em, then go play around.’

Signs of the Western Empire’s downfall.

About half a day after returning.

The moment I opened my eyes, the hunter chat was blowing up with messages from Hunter So Yeri.

💬 Hunter Chat

— Clona Aisen (Yerian-nim)

>>> Heeeey everyone! Good news! Big news!

— Senia de Edelweiss (Shin Yuri)

>>> ?

— Clona Aisen (Yerian-nim)

>>> The letters from that apocalypse prophecy opened up!

What? I was wide awake instantly.

— Ariensa Sian de Mar (Yian ssi)

>>> Does it mention future threats too?

As expected, Yian ssi’s first thought was that.

The somewhat meaningful words from Shin Jae-heon’s pointless interpretation: ’emperor’, ‘pope’, ‘tower lord’.

Pope threatened by poison, so next up emperor or tower lord—Shin Jae-heon or Hunter So Yeri.

Couldn’t help but worry.

— Clona Aisen (Yerian-nim)

>>> I’ll just type out the contents.

A bit later, a long message came up.

— Clona Aisen (Yerian-nim)

>>> Otherworlders try to quell the gates with otherworld knowledge. But humanity’s true enemy is other humans—rival factions blocking their path.

This much I knew. Next!

— Clona Aisen (Yerian-nim)

>>> They send assassins to the feeble emperor, feed poison to the indecisive pope, and seal the magic of the wandering tower lord—all to seize hegemony over the continent.

In short, assassins for the emperor, magic seal for the tower lord? While I was parsing the key bits, the chat exploded.

— Ivan Elethia von Carman (Shin Jae-heon bastard)

>>> When was I ever feeble?

Why was that guy nitpicking right now?

— Senia de Edelweiss (Shin Yuri)

>>> Probably a lore/setting thing.

Emperor Ivan had apparently been truly feeble before possession.

— Ariensa Sian de Mar (Yian ssi)

>>> Indecisive…

But this one was different.

— Clona Aisen (Yerian-nim)

>>> That part seems spot on.

— Senia de Edelweiss (Shin Yuri)

>>> That one’s not a setting thing.

— Ivan Elethia von Carman (Shin Jae-heon bastard)

>>> System’s got eyes on me.

Yian ssi went silent after that one-liner smackdown.

I could picture him pinching his forehead and sighing deeply—nearly burst out laughing.

— Ariensa Sian de Mar (Yian ssi)

>>> …Anyway, now that the threat types are clear, you two can prepare more solidly.

Following Yian ssi’s message, Shin Jae-heon’s popped up.

— Ivan Elethia von Carman (Shin Jae-heon bastard)

>>> Hunter Yian’s case doesn’t seem like they had L-rank poison either—probably system correction turning regular poison into L-rank.

That was the expected truth.

— Ivan Elethia von Carman (Shin Jae-heon bastard)

>>> I’ll stay cautious, so Hunter So Yeri, you too.

— Clona Aisen (Yerian-nim)

>>> OK, stay tense!

Saying that, Hunter So Yeri immediately followed up.

— Clona Aisen (Yerian-nim)

>>> But like, how do you even do a magic seal?

No way? I peered into the chat with a bad feeling.

— Clona Aisen (Yerian-nim)

>>> Not poison, so gotta be some skill type anyway.

— Clona Aisen (Yerian-nim)

>>> These guys’ll use it as magic. Research the magic circles, and maybe figure out how seals work.

The bad feeling deepened.

— Senia de Edelweiss (Shin Yuri)

>>> You’re not saying you’ll let yourself get sealed once, right?

Yian ssi and Shin Jae-heon must’ve wanted to say the same—the chat went quiet.

And sure enough, moments later, Hunter So Yeri’s message arrived as predicted.

— Clona Aisen (Yerian-nim)

>>> Think it won’t work?

Like hell it would! Her research mania!

— Clona Aisen (Yerian-nim)

>>> It’s magic anyway, so it lifts when the caster dies.

That explained why she, among support hunters packed with skills, had an absurd number.

She’d light up with curiosity at any new skill and research it obsessively—until she snagged a similar one.

This time, she was hooked on seals.

Hooked was fine, but.

— Ariensa Sian de Mar (Yian ssi)

>>> Too dangerous.

— Ivan Elethia von Carman (Shin Jae-heon bastard)

>>> Even if you learn by matching skills, an L-rank dungeon is a bit…

— Clona Aisen (Yerian-nim)

>>> In this RP dungeon world’s lore, just take out the caster~? No safer chance to learn a skill!

— Senia de Edelweiss (Shin Yuri)

>>> Aigoo, this person’s on the drug train again—merchant ain’t buying.

After a brief pause, another message dropped.

She’s lost it, right?

◇◇◇◆◇◇◇

Thankfully, our team were all sane people, so we opposed Hunter So Yeri’s experimental spirit.

Or so I thought.

Exactly one day later.

— Ivan Elethia von Carman (Shin Jae-heon bastard)

>>> This time around, Hunter So Yeri picking up a seal skill doesn’t sound half bad.

Shin Jae-heon suddenly flipped his stance.
