Chapter 53 – Total Annihilation
Chapter 53 – Total Annihilation
The gunfire outside continued unabated, suggesting Du Yuming was still engaged in combat with players from the hostile Camp.
Xiao Wuwang glanced around, drove a forklift over, and parked it directly on top of the T-800, completely immobilizing the mechanical Monster. Only then did he jump down from the vehicle and survey his surroundings.
Upstairs, Kyle and Sarah watched in shock and disbelief as Xiao Wuwang nearly crippled the mechanical Monster that had left them helpless.
Xiao Wuwang looked up at the two on the upper floor and shouted, “The enemies ahead are even more dangerous. Find a place to hide quickly, especially you, Sarah—stay safe no matter what!”
Kyle replied, “Don’t worry, I’ll protect Sarah, even if… it costs me my life!”
Xiao Wuwang nodded, then turned and headed toward the factory’s high ground.
Judging by the chaotic gunfire outside, players from the hostile Camp had already begun to split up and surround the factory.
By the time Xiao Wuwang found an excellent sniping position and set up his modified QBU-191 precision armor-piercing rifle (Type II), Du Yuming, after slaying three opponents, could no longer hold his ground and had also retreated into the factory.
Soon after, Xiao Wuwang spotted a player from the hostile Camp attempting to sneak into the factory through a side door.
“Bang!”
“Bang, bang…”
Xiao Wuwang immediately pulled the trigger. After the first precise shot, he held the trigger down, not releasing it until the entire magazine was emptied.
The unlucky player managed to avoid a fatal hit with the first shot by instinct, but the nearly sixty subsequent bullets engulfed him like a storm. Despite his desperate attempts to dodge, under such dense and accurate suppressive fire, he was inevitably struck by multiple rounds. Coincidentally, one bullet hit him in the abdomen, Triggering the Weak Point Trait and doubling the damage, instantly robbing him of his mobility.
Xiao Wuwang gave him no chance to recover. After reloading—
“Bang!”
“Bang!”
Two consecutive precise shots sent bullets straight into his Weak Point, instantly slaying him and leaving behind a Supply Crate.
Meanwhile, Du Yuming was also holding his own, having slain another player from the hostile Camp.
Unbeknownst to them, two individuals had quietly approached Sarah Connor’s hiding spot.
Kyle remained highly vigilant, his ears keenly attuned to the slightest sounds around him.
As the footsteps of the two drew nearer, his nerves instantly tensed.
He gestured to Sarah, signaling her to stay hidden and not come out. Then, picking up a shotgun, he prepared to confront the enemies.
Sarah tightly gripped his arm, her eyes filled with worry and anxiety. She shook her head slightly, her lips parting as if she wanted to say something to stop Kyle. But Kyle gave her a firm, reassuring look, telling her not to worry.
In the end, Sarah couldn’t stop Kyle from stepping out.
Kyle moved lightly through another small door, deliberately taking a detour to distance himself from the room where Sarah was hiding.
When he looked back, the two were about to open the door to the small room where Sarah was concealed.
Kyle knew the situation was critical—they absolutely could not be allowed to open that door. If Sarah were startled, she might make a sound, exposing herself and putting her in grave danger!
“Bang!”
Kyle aimed his shotgun at the two men and pulled the trigger without the slightest hesitation.
The two were clearly experienced players. The moment Kyle pulled the trigger, they reacted swiftly with keen perception and excellent reflexes, dropping to the ground and rolling toward the corner on the other side.
Bullets grazed past their bodies, exploding into sparks against the wall behind them.
Seeing his shot miss, Kyle’s heart tightened. He immediately ejected the shell, preparing to fire again.
However, before he could complete the action, the two men hiding behind cover suddenly leaned out, their gun muzzles rapidly spitting flames as a barrage of bullets whistled toward Kyle.
Kyle hastily dodged to the side, but he had underestimated the power of their weapons.
Both of them were wielding Level 2 guns, enhanced with Traits, far surpassing the low-tier weapons Kyle had encountered before.
The enemy’s bullets were fast and dense. Kyle was hit in the shoulder, arm, and abdomen.
The shot to his abdomen was particularly severe—the bullet tore a fist-sized bloody hole in his stomach!
The fatal wound forced a pained cry from Kyle’s lips.
By the time Xiao Wuwang and Du Yuming noticed the commotion, they saw Kyle clutching his abdomen, collapsed on the ground.
Fearing Sarah might risk rushing out, the two immediately charged to his aid.
In reality, only these two remained in the Terminator Camp.
As he ran, Xiao Wuwang switched his weapon to the M870 Berserk Shotgun (Modified Type III) and loaded it with two original Level 3 rounds.
Du Yuming was closer and fired first.
The two men’s attention was immediately drawn to Du Yuming.
Seizing the opportunity, Xiao Wuwang quietly approached from another passage.
“Bang!”
“Bang, bang…”
Just as the two men and Du Yuming were locked in intense firefight—
Suddenly—
“Boom!”
“Boom, boom…”
“Boom!”
“Boom, boom…”
Xiao Wuwang had stealthily closed in on the two and fired two rounds, reducing them to a bloody mist!
Immediately afterward, two Supply Crates, which only Xiao Wuwang could pick up, appeared beside their mangled remains.
Du Yuming, who had been firing enthusiastically from the opposite side, was startled by the sudden thunderous blasts. By the time he realized what had happened, both opponents were already dead!
His gaze involuntarily fell on the shotgun in Xiao Wuwang’s hands.
This was a terrifying weapon capable of turning someone with attributes comparable to his own into a bloody mist with a single shot!
So he had such a formidable weapon all along.
Du Yuming had always been confident in his own strength—otherwise, he wouldn’t have chosen the Human Camp for this Confrontation Platform.
But facing that shotgun in Xiao Wuwang’s hands, unless he used his trump card, he wasn’t confident he could evade its judgment!
At the same time, he secretly felt relieved that he and Xiao Wuwang were on the same side.
If he had to face such an enemy, even exhausting all his trump cards might not guarantee a safe escape—he might even meet his end.
At that moment, he suddenly recalled Xiao Wuwang’s earlier offer to sell him that rifle. Perhaps it hadn’t been a joke after all.
After all, he possessed a firearm far more powerful than that rifle!
With these thoughts, Du Yuming’s slight displeasure over Xiao Wuwang taking the last two kills vanished without a trace.
The battle was over, and Sarah Connor emerged from the doorway. When she saw Kyle lying in a pool of blood, she was struck as if by lightning, staggering over with eyes full of terror and grief. “Kyle! Kyle!!”
The players from the Terminator Camp had been completely wiped out, and the Terminator T-800 had lost its combat and mobility capabilities. It could be said that the two core objectives of the Human Camp were essentially accomplished.
He had no mood to comfort the grieving Sarah. At that moment, he and Du Yuming were each taking stock of their own gains.
