Chapter 84 – Unexpected Hidden Mission

Chapter 84 – Unexpected Hidden Mission

Sarah Connor instinctively crouched down immediately.

“Boom!”

The M870 Berserk Shotgun (Modified Type III) round struck T-1000 head-on, followed by a secondary explosion that instantly blew away half of its body.

“Boom!”

“Boom!”

Shot after shot, Xiao Wuwang drove T-1000 back relentlessly until he finally forced it into the molten iron.

T-1000 thrashed wildly in the molten iron, constantly shifting forms in an attempt to escape.

But no matter how it transformed, the scorching molten iron quickly melted it down.

After a long while, no further movement came from the searing molten iron. Only then was T-1000 truly and completely destroyed.

“Alright! You should be safe now,” Xiao Wuwang said.

Sarah Connor snapped back to reality. “Thank you, Xiao.”

Then, she pulled John Connor over and said to him, “Come on, thank Xiao. He saved us again.”

John Connor looked up, his eyes flickering with complex emotions—gratitude mixed with a hint of barely perceptible confusion. He said softly, “Thank you, Xiao. By the way, where’s ‘Pops’?”

Xiao Wuwang glanced at him, then handed him T-800’s chip. “It’s here.”

John Connor took the chip, his hands trembling slightly, a flash of pain in his eyes. “Can… can it come back to life?”

Xiao Wuwang replied, “In the future, if you find a suitable Mech and insert its chip, it can be resurrected.”

A trace of conflict flickered in Sarah Connor’s eyes, but ultimately her gaze grew resolute. She gripped John Connor’s shoulder and said earnestly, “John, we can’t keep this chip!”

John Connor shook off her hand and roared, “Why?”

Sarah Connor took a deep breath, her eyes fixed intently on John Connor, her voice steady yet carrying an undeniable firmness. “John, don’t you understand? The existence of this chip could allow someone to research Skynet. Once Skynet is rebooted, humanity could once again face the threat of annihilation. If Pops could speak, he would surely want this too!”

After speaking, Sarah Connor pulled John Connor into her arms to comfort him.

John Connor’s body trembled slightly, anger and struggle intertwined in his eyes.

After a long while, he looked up and cried out, his voice choked with tears, “But that’s Pops! It saved us so many times. It’s not the enemy!”

Sarah Connor gently stroked his head, her voice soft yet firm. “John, I understand how you feel. But some things, we must consider from the bigger picture. The threat of Skynet is too great. We can’t let all of humanity fall into a Deathtrap again because of temporary emotions.”

The two argued for a while longer, and in the end, John Connor relented.

He slowly walked to the edge of the molten iron, clutching T-800’s chip tightly in his hands, tears welling in his eyes. “Pops… I’m sorry!”

With that, he fiercely threw T-800’s chip into the molten iron, and his tears could no longer be held back, streaming down his cheeks.

With the matter settled, Xiao Wuwang walked up to Sarah Connor.

Sarah Connor seemed to sense something and asked tremulously, “Are you leaving?”

Xiao Wuwang nodded. “You’re safe now, and it’s time for me to return to my own world.”

Though reluctant in her eyes, Sarah Connor nodded.

John Connor’s expression, however, was filled with struggle.

Seeing John Connor’s conflicted and complex expression, Xiao Wuwang felt a stir in his heart, faintly sensing that this might truly be an opportunity to trigger a hidden mission. He leaned forward slightly, meeting John’s gaze, and asked softly, “John, is there something you want to tell me?”

John Connor bit his lip, hesitated for a moment, and finally mustered the courage to say, “Xiao, when I infiltrated Cyberdyne Systems’ system, I felt like they had a backup system.”

Hearing John Connor’s words, a flicker of delight flashed in Xiao Wuwang’s eyes. “Why do you feel that way? Do you have any idea where their backup system might be located?”

John Connor shook his head. “I’m not entirely sure either. I just vaguely sensed that all of Cyberdyne Systems’ data sources had a copy script. At the time, it was urgent, and I couldn’t trace where the copied data was being directed.”

Sarah Connor immediately grew alarmed. “Could it be that Skynet hasn’t been completely destroyed?”

Suppressing his excitement, Xiao Wuwang calmly replied, “I’ll go verify it. Leave it to me to handle. You two… take care!”

Sarah Connor gave him a hug. “Goodbye! Good luck!”

Xiao Wuwang left the iron factory with Han Xing, no longer concerned about where Sarah Connor and her son would go.

Having uncovered a hidden mission, Xiao Wuwang naturally had no intention of letting it slip away.

After all, sparing John Connor’s life had cost him a full 150 Infinite Coins, and he couldn’t bear this loss for nothing.

Once on the street, Han Xing flagged down a patrolling police car.

As per the usual routine, they knocked out the original police officer in the car and left him by the roadside. Then, the two drove the police car toward Cyberdyne Systems.

Although Cyberdyne Systems’ research building had been bombed, other office buildings still had computers connected to the network.

With Han Xing’s transformation ability, Xiao Wuwang soon arrived smoothly at the CEO’s office in one of the office buildings.

The computer in the CEO’s office undoubtedly had the highest privileges.

Although this computer was protected by multiple complex passwords and encryption programs, in Han Xing’s eyes, such obstacles were child’s play.

Before long, Han Xing stopped its actions.

Xiao Wuwang asked, “Done?”

“Yes, Master!” Han Xing replied. “Cyberdyne Systems’ research data indeed has a copy backup. The data is all directed to an extremely well-hidden underground server cluster in the eastern part of the city.”

A glint of excitement flashed in Xiao Wuwang’s eyes. “An underground server cluster? Do you know the specific location?”

Han Xing said, “I’ve already pinpointed the location.”

Xiao Wuwang replied, “Good, let’s go now!”

Half an hour later, Xiao Wuwang arrived in front of an office building.

This office building was also owned by Cyberdyne Systems. Although the main company had been attacked, this place remained unaffected and continued to operate normally, though security had clearly been significantly strengthened, with patrols of security personnel everywhere.

Han Xing searched around, dealt with one of the individuals who appeared to be in charge, and then openly led Xiao Wuwang smoothly into an underground laboratory.

After Han Xing disguised itself once more, Xiao Wuwang finally arrived at the underground database where the backup data was stored.

Xiao Wuwang looked at the rows of neatly arranged servers, which reminded him of the time he obtained the formula for the Evolution Potion.

“Could these servers also be used to synthesize something if I store them in the Portable Space?”

Suppressing his excitement, Xiao Wuwang collected all the servers into his Portable Space.

As soon as all the servers vanished from the scene, the system voice indeed rang out.
