Chapter 58: The Naming Expert
Chapter 58: The Naming Expert
For Feicui, these were all situations he had never encountered before. If this were merely an ordinary Spirit King Tree, it would be utterly incapable of creating equipment. Yet now, this tree could not only nurture Primordial Spirits but also bestow weapons and tools upon its Followers.
This was far beyond what a Spirit King Tree could accomplish. He grew increasingly convinced that this was a contingency left behind by the Elven Divine Tree. The ability to create equipment out of thin air—if not a divine miracle, it would be difficult to explain.
Feicui was already so shocked by this scene that he was left speechless. But then, from Xiong Batian, he heard something even more astonishing.
“Lord Divine Tree will select three talented Frenzied Black Bears from among you to receive Blessings.”
Xiong Batian did not over-explain to the Black Bear Clan; everyone understood the meaning of a Blessing.
The former Clan Leader of the Black Bear Race had spent decades currying favor with Feicui, helping him establish authority, yet he still never received Feicui’s Blessing. It wasn’t that Feicui was stingy; rather, he lacked the immense Soul Energy required to bestow a Blessing. He needed the complete devotion of the Black Bear Race, to harvest genuine faith.
But this was not easy. Perhaps these black bears could regard Feicui as their boss, obeying his every command. Yet they did not support him from the heart, viewing him as a Deity; they merely saw him as an ordinary Demigod Powerhouse.
Relying solely on the black bears’ simple allegiance was insufficient to strengthen his own Soul Power, and naturally, he could not bestow Blessings. Forcing a Blessing would only harm his own Soul.
But this Spirit King Tree acted just like the true Lord Divine Tree, granting Blessings without the slightest hesitation. These black bears had merely followed Xiong Batian here seeking a livelihood, and yet it was giving three Blessings. This truly left Feicui dumbfounded.
Upon hearing the word “Blessing,” the large group of Frenzied Black Bears stirred with emotion. They never expected to encounter such a Holy event, and that three Blessings would be granted. It was important to know that the Frenzied Black Bear Clan could only advance to Level 20 and could not evolve further.
If, after receiving a Blessing, they achieved evolution, then all future generations would possess even stronger talents. Just like the former Clan Leader, born from a Frenzied Battle Bear that had evolved through Blessing, he was a Frenzied Battle Bear from birth, without the Level 20 cap.
Hearing the word “Blessing,” the former Clan Leader of the Black Bear Race trembled slightly as he looked at Xiong Batian. This woman, once driven out by them, had now encountered an opportunity outside and actually thought to return for them, constantly concerned for the future of the Black Bear Clan. She was truly an exceptional woman. Losing that bloody fight was absolutely worth it.
He was the first to kneel, devoutly bowing toward the giant tree ahead. A Blessing was no small matter. For the Spirit King Tree to grant three Blessings at once was already exceedingly generous. The Black Bear Race had lived in this Forest for centuries, and only one ancestor had ever received a Blessing from a Demigod, allowing their lineage to persist in this Forest to this day.
The black bears behind followed the former Clan Leader’s example, kneeling one after another on the ground, worshiping the towering tree ahead.
Sylph hadn’t expected them to be so solemn. Wasn’t it just selecting a few with better talent, giving them names, and strengthening them a bit? Was all this really necessary?
The selection of the Blessed Ones was also left to the System, which would choose talented black bears or those possessing some rare skills. This way, Zhai Guangyi could have the System help him secretly learn skills. For example, he had long coveted Little Husky Two’s Magic Devour but never had the chance to learn it.
However, it seemed that Special Skills couldn’t be stolen. Zhai Guangyi couldn’t even see the name of Xiong Er’s Special Skill, which was connected to his soul, let alone learn it secretly. But having some rare skills was still good enough.
The System selected three ordinary Frenzied Black Bears at Level 20 and did not choose to grant a name to the former Black Bear Clan Leader. Zhai Guangyi thought it was fine for now—those selected by the System were either highly talented or possessed rare skills.
As for names, they could be casual. He decided to call them Bear Three, Bear Four, and Bear Five. Since he had named his sworn brother Chen Dabai as Xiong Er, others had to follow the same standard to avoid breaking the rules.
Xiong Er, using Appraisal, saw the panel names of those blessed Frenzied Black Bears, and several black lines appeared on her face.
As for the former Black Bear Clan Leader, Zhai Guangyi felt he needed further observation and would grant him a blessing later.
Zhai Guangyi’s financial strength was now somewhat insufficient. His System Currency had suddenly dropped from 3,390 to 990. The blessings and gifted equipment had completely emptied his wallet. His heart was bleeding—he had been frugal himself but was incredibly generous to his subordinates.
He sighed deeply, thinking he truly was a conscientious boss.
After receiving the blessings, the three massive black bears successfully evolved into Elven Sacred Bears, transforming into Demon Humans like Xiong Batian. Moreover, their Levels immediately rose to around 38 to 40, an astonishing improvement.
Watching them happily shouting their names—”Bear Three, Bear Four, Bear Five”—the surrounding black bears cast envious glances. Only Xiong Er left the scene directly and returned to her Small Wooden Hut.
Among them, one lucky individual possessed a rare skill: Magic-Defying Spirit Body.
It could use Magic Power to strengthen the body, temporarily enhancing various attributes by consuming Magic Power, or focus on boosting a single attribute.
This skill was highly needed for Zhai Guangyi’s Elven Body. He lacked nothing more than Magic Power, and using it to temporarily convert into other attributes could briefly compensate for his own shortcomings.
“Notification: Detected 340 Followers gained. Reward: 6,800 Skill Points and 6,800 System Currency.”
Hearing the System’s prompt, Zhai Guangyi truly felt it was not easy, but he was satisfied to have gained something.
These newly joined members of the Black Bear Clan could greatly elevate Zhai Guangyi’s forces. They were the main combat strength, incomparable to either the Wind Demon Panthers or the Storm Demon Wolves.
After finishing the blessings, the remaining tasks were not for a tree like Zhai Guangyi to handle. He entrusted everything to Xiong Batian. Although she was not eloquent, she would do what needed to be done. Guiding the Black Bear Clan to integrate with the Storm Demon Wolves and Wind Demon Panthers, reasonably allocating combat strength, organizing perimeter defenses, and dispatching Magical Beasts for hunting—all these were reassuringly handled by her.
Now Zhai Guangyi turned his attention to allocating skill points. These skill points were far too precious; they could currently serve as company benefits to enhance the overall strength of his employees, all of which was extremely important to him.
First and foremost, the most crucial was upgrading the ‘World’ skill, as it was the most beneficial to Zhai Guangyi. Leveling up ‘World’ to level 8 required 5,000 skill points.
Zhai Guangyi had been hoarding skill points precisely for this upgrade, and he did not hesitate any further.
“Report: Congratulations, Master, for upgrading ‘World’ to level 8. The System Shop now offers an overall 50% discount, and White Quality equipment no longer requires System Currency.”
As a Fantasy Skill, ‘World’s greatest ability was to conjure fantasies out of thin air. Now, it could significantly reduce consumption, which was excellent news for Zhai Guangyi. If only those black bears could become Followers sooner, he could then reward Xiong Batian and the others, saving even more resources.
Truly, one who does not manage a household knows not the cost of firewood, rice, oil, and salt!
