Chapter 183: Stepping on Heads
Chapter 183: Stepping on Heads
Both of them possessed the ability to annihilate these pests with a single strike, but Kamiyu loved to play, to act, to put on a mysterious show, so Jack played along with Kamiyu.
From the moment she first entered Crimson Earth and changed her name, he knew she enjoyed wearing a mask and playing the role of an old-fashioned hero.
With his immense tolerance, Jack joined the mischievous Kamiyu in this game.
As a Barbarian Warrior, his Skills sometimes became more powerful and imposing when shouted aloud.
Jack roared, “Taunting Battle Roar!”
Qian Long, who had his back to Jack, forcibly twisted his body around to face him, charging toward Jack and swinging a fist to strike him.
“What kind of Technique is this? It can actually alter my thoughts and actions.” Qian Long felt a trace of fear.
This was the first time he had encountered such a Technique, his body moving against his will. “No, I don’t want this!”
Compared to Kamiyu, Qian Long feared Jack more because earlier, Jack had beaten Bald Tiger from the hill like a drowning dog, and even Hou Ao, who possessed infinite Recovery Power, was treated the same—no matter how much Recovery Power you had, Jack just kept hitting.
A petty thief like Qian Long was most terrified of battle maniacs like Jack, who disregarded life and death and fought with sheer ferocity.
The closer Qian Long got to Jack, the more his body trembled uncontrollably, cold sweat pouring from his forehead as if he were facing a demon from Hell.
Qian Long even began to hallucinate, seeing the endless flames of hatred burning behind Jack. Behind him was an infinite Hell of hatred, the burning flames writhing like Tentacles, seemingly ready to tear Qian Long apart and burn him to ashes.
This was Jack with his bare fists—how could he possess such immense terror and imposing presence?
How many people had he killed? Even the fifth-tier Hungry Ghost Shara didn’t have such an aura.
“Jack!” Kamiyu shouted, snapping Jack out of it.
Kamiyu thought anxiously, “It’s Mephisto causing trouble again. The Dark Gold Sword is a double-edged blade; leaving it with Jack is dangerous.”
“Blood Wolf, shut up!” Kamiyu shouted.
“Blood Wolf?” The two Ability Users were confused.
Kamiyu was speaking to Mephisto, telling it not to affect Jack’s mind.
“Hehehehehehahahaha, you saw through it again.” Mephisto’s voice echoed from afar.
“What the hell is going on?” Qian Long said as he ran toward Jack.
“Who’s causing trouble?” Hou Ao was so frightened he knelt on the ground, not daring to move, and warily looked around.
Even Men San, up on the Tree Branch, felt a sudden palpitation.
In an instant, Jack’s eyes returned to normal, the hatred in their depths vanishing.
Mephisto spoke in a frequency only it could hear, “What a pity. Such sweet hatred. I was so close to controlling such a perfect vessel of hatred.”
Qian Long said, “Ahhh, that aura is gone. It scared me half to death.”
He then threw a punch at Jack.
Qian Long had originally intended to use Hellfire Fist against Kamiyu, but after seeing his opponent was Jack, he was too terrified and only dared to use a Normal Attack.
Jack was on fire again, yet again, but the next moment.
Now calmed down, Jack said, “Thorns Reflection.”
He reflected the fire attribute Damage back onto Qian Long.
However, Jack’s Thorns Reflection wasn’t as precise as Kamiyu’s shooting, equally igniting Qian Long in return.
“Gwah! Brother Hou Ao, I’m on fire!” Qian Long immediately rolled around on the ground.
“Come save me!” Qian Long screamed.
An Ability User’s Defense Power was only slightly higher than that of a Player wearing Common Armor. Third tier? In Kamiyu’s eyes, he was just a bug wearing a few extra pieces of armor.
So she would rather aim at her own gauntlet than strike his body.
The atmosphere of despair in the Black Sphere Room slightly dissipated.
“Look, Qian Long is on fire.”
“Well done, Black Armor Warrior, that’s how you should fight.”
“I told you, don’t give up hope until the very last moment.”
Brother Dong, who always contradicted others to appear unique, exceptionally smart, and knowledgeable—arrogant but actually just a worm—stepped forward again to share his “insight”: “Useless. That Hou Ao can not only heal himself but also heal others.”
“Look, these two don’t know how to fight. They just stand there, watching the Ability User heal. They don’t even go for the last hit. I really don’t know what they’re thinking.”
Wang Fang also frowned in agreement. “If Pang Mi hadn’t pushed that girl back then, causing our healer to be sacrificed by the Ability User, the situation wouldn’t be this dire.”
Xiao Zhong gritted his teeth but didn’t respond. He felt utterly powerless, only able to watch the scene.
Back on the battlefield.
Qian Long rolled into the deep pit, letting Hou Ao heal him.
“Hurry up, hurry up, it hurts so much,” Qian Long urged.
The two walked to the edge of the deep pit, watching the pair inside receiving treatment.
Seeing Qian Long’s cowardly demeanor, Kamiyu thought to herself—Hou Ao had endured thousands of punches without a single groan, yet this guy screamed after just one punch. What a spineless coward.
Seeing the timing was ripe and having fired plenty of fire-attribute bullets to fill the Elemental Sprite’s Piggy Bank to the brim, she picked up her gun and asked Jack, “Cooldown?”
Jack nodded, indicating everything was ready.
Qian Long, now healed, glared at Kamiyu and Jack with a sneaky, vicious look, determined to take brutal revenge on the two.
Seeing the defiant expression on the other side, Kamiyu dropped her act and said coldly, “How many punches did he throw?”
Qian Long asked in confusion, “Are you insane? Is now the time to talk about this?”
Jack also looked down at Qian Long with contempt. “2,099 missed punches, 1 hit on me.”
Kamiyu sneered, “Only bullying the weak and fearing the strong. Trash.”
“You’re asking for death!” Qian Long said angrily. He himself didn’t even know how many punches he had thrown. How dare these lowly prey count his punches?
The 2,099 missed strikes burned like a red-hot iron brand on Qian Long’s face, making him blush with shame and humiliation.
Kamiyu was deliberately humiliating him, provoking him, making him act recklessly.
“I’ll kill you! Watch my Hellfire Fist!” Qian Long charged fiercely at Kamiyu.
“Trash will always be trash, falling for the same trick. Besides, not everyone can afford to use Hellfire Fist,” Kamiyu continued to taunt.
Qian Long suddenly burst into flames. “Wh-what’s happening? Why? Why am I on fire?”
“Gwah, it hurts! My legs, my arms, my body!”
A calm voice spoke.
“Taunting Shout.”
Back in the Crimson Earth, this move had even managed to sneakily kill Mephisto, leaving the Dark Gold Sword Doombringer to suck air. How could it be useless against a mere little bug?
Jack didn’t even bother using his Golden Body, enduring the blow head-on.
You can’t stop it—even if you can’t run, the skill will pull you in.
While running, Qian Long was scorched by the Hellfire Fist, burned down to the bone, unable to run any further, writhing on the ground.
A charred “corpse” lay before Jack, with only a sliver of health left.
Jack wouldn’t spare these murderers. He stomped on Qian Long’s charred skull, unleashing the Hellfire Fist.
“Thorns Reflection.”
“Whoosh.”
The charred corpse was burned by the Thorns Reflection until not even ashes remained.
