Chapter 182: Thief Meets Swindler

Chapter 182: Thief Meets Swindler

The first law of combat is that smoke without injury prevails. As the smoke cleared, Qian Long stood there unharmed, pleasantly surprised.

He checked himself up and down, left and right, for any injuries, finding none at all. Noticing the Elemental Sprite’s Piggy Bank, he saw that it had gained a significant boost in fire attribute damage.

Qian Long then wore the smug expression of a petty person who had gotten lucky, saying conceitedly, “It seems your weapon is nothing special after all.”

Seeing that Jack and Kamiyu showed little reaction, Qian Long continued to provoke, “How does it feel to have your own weapon used against you? Hahahaha. I must say, your weapon is indeed powerful—taking that shot and coming out completely unscathed. Or perhaps your weapon is too weak to even scratch these gauntlets.”

Qian Long was pushing his luck to the extreme.

From the tree branch, Men San watched Qian Long’s gloating demeanor and snorted heavily, “Hmph, he really did stumble upon a huge bargain.”

However, inside the Black Sphere Room, everyone’s faces were ashen.

“These gauntlets are too powerful—they can even shatter bullets.”

“Not only that, but they can also absorb fire attribute damage.”

“How are we supposed to fight this? It’s over, truly over this time.”

Xiao Zhong, however, still held onto hope, saying, “Everyone, don’t despair. Miss Kamiyu will surely think of a way. And that Black Armor Warrior—we must not give up.”

Brother Dong stepped forward again to voice dissent, “What hope? Tell me how we’re supposed to fight. Soon, those two will be burned to death, and then it’ll be our turn. We’re all just waiting to die.”

The room once again sank into despair, with an atmosphere of fear spreading throughout.

Back on the battlefield, seeing Qian Long’s smug expression, Kamiyu knew her plan was proceeding as intended.

Had Qian Long shattered Kamiyu’s bullet with a single punch? He wasn’t that capable, of course.

It was Kamiyu who had deliberately aimed at the Endless Fury Gauntlets.

Kamiyu was worried that her attack power might be too overwhelming, fearing that a basic attack would outright kill this so-called Third-Tier Ability User.

She was cunningly scheming against Qian Long, leading him step by step toward the abyss.

As the designer of the Endless Fury Gauntlets, she naturally knew the gap between the Demon-Repelling Holy Flame’s basic attack and the gauntlets’ durability.

She had intentionally targeted the Endless Fury Gauntlets, both to boost Qian Long’s confidence and make him arrogant, and to “protect” him—ensuring he would burn himself to death rather than be killed by her basic attack.

Watching this, Jack thought to himself, exasperated, “This little Pink Hair is really something. One careless moment, and you’ll be schemed against—she’s got Qian Long completely trapped.”

But Kamiyu was indeed impressive, able to predict her opponent’s actions and proactively attack him, luring Qian Long into striking the bullet.

If that was considered “bad,” what came next was even worse.

Kamiyu put on an expression of “shock” and “astonishment,” her mouth agape as she exclaimed, “Impossible! The gauntlets actually shattered my hypersonic bullet! And the fire attribute damage from my bullet was absorbed!”

From the Ability Users’ perspective, they had no idea that the designer of this weapon was Kamiyu herself.

Jack thought to himself, “She’s putting on quite the act. Well, I can’t let her outdo me.”

Jack frowned and said, “Be careful, this weapon can absorb fire attribute damage. Don’t use fire attribute attacks.”

“Nice one, Jack. Let’s trick this thief to death together.”

Kamiyu shook her head and said, “Sigh, this is the only weapon I have left. What am I supposed to do?”

After a moment of silence, Jack said, “I’ll cover your escape.”

Their loud scheming was, of course, overheard by the other side.

Kamiyu and Jack were putting on a double act, so they naturally had to speak loudly enough for the other side to hear—otherwise, how would they fall for it?

Kamiyu decided to make her act even more convincing and said, “Meet me at the usual place.”

Then she turned and ran toward the back.

Jack didn’t need to act at all because he often did this sort of thing. He just had to tone it down a bit. Using his imposing figure to shield Kamiyu, he shouted in a tone ready to sacrifice himself heroically, “Don’t look back, run! Leave this to me.”

“Jack, you must survive.”

“Yeah, we’ll win.”

Fortunately, Kamiyu had her back to everyone. At this moment, she could no longer hold back her laughter, her shoulders shaking.

Others thought she was sobbing, but in reality, she was trying to suppress her laughter.

She thought to herself, “This Jack doesn’t need to act at all—it’s practically a natural performance.”

With that, Jack charged fearlessly toward the two Ability Users.

“Gahhhhhhhhh!”

Qian Long said triumphantly, “Trying to run? Not so easy.”

Proudly, Qian Long rushed past Hou Ao and charged toward Kamiyu.

“Bang, bang.”

“Bang, bang.”

“Wow, this guy is really weak,” Kamiyu deliberately matched Qian Long’s low skill level, lowering her firing rate and using a two-shot burst fire method.

“Boom, boom,” the sounds echoed.

Qian Long punched the bullets one after another, shattering the Demon-Repelling Holy Flame bullets and absorbing the fire attribute damage.

“This feels amazing!” Qian Long felt as if he were unleashing unrivaled power, shattering every bullet with his punches.

He had no idea when he had become so powerful, attributing his sudden rise in combat prowess to the stolen Endless Fury Gauntlets.

“Useless, useless, all useless!” Qian Long shouted as he ran.

Kamiyu decided to make her act even more convincing. Pretending to trip, she performed a classic “flat-ground fall”—a must-have skill for a Lolita.

With a “thud,” she fell to the ground, even dropping the Demon-Repelling Holy Flame.

Seeing this opportunity, Qian Long let out a loud roar, “The chance is here! I’m going to punch you to death!” and prepared to strike Kamiyu with a punch.

Men San, perched on the tree branch, shook his head. “Trash is trash, utterly useless.”

He hadn’t expected this battle to be so easy. He had overestimated these two Players.

Killing a Third-Tier Ability User in one hit? Probably just luck. They must have taken advantage of the fact that Tiger was weakened after the Blood Sacrifice and got lucky.

“This time, that lowlife Qian Long gets the advantage. If it weren’t for him, those gauntlets would be mine now.” Men San still couldn’t forget Kamiyu’s Endless Fury Gauntlets.

The atmosphere of despair inside the Black Sphere Room grew even more intense.

“What’s wrong with this person? There’s not a single obstacle in front of her, and she still manages to trip?”

“Yeah, what’s going on? She even dropped her gun. There’s no need to fight anymore.”

“Xiao Zhong, why don’t we take this chance to flee?” Wang Fang grabbed Xiao Zhong’s collar.

Brother Dong also said, “Stop pretending to be the gang boss and get lost already.”

Xiao Zhong still shook his head and said, “Don’t give up hope until the very end.”

Back on the battlefield.

Want to hurt Kamiyu? Not so easy—get past Jack first. A Barbarian Warrior is no joke.

“Don’t you dare hurt Kamiyu,” Jack roared. “Taunting Battle Roar!”

He forcibly redirected the fist aimed at Kamiyu, taking the blow himself.
