Chapter 181: Setting a Trap

Chapter 181: Setting a Trap

Seeing the lanky figure and the special ability, Kamiyu knew this person was the Third-Tier Ability User Qian Long, whom Xiao Zhong had mentioned earlier—the one with the ability to swap items.

Due to Xiao Zhong’s lack of experience, many of Kamiyu’s questions had been answered vaguely, so she only knew the opponent could swap items but not the range or cost of the ability.

“How dare you steal something my sister gave me? Unforgivable. I’ll kill you.” Hatred surged through Jack’s mind, overwhelming his thoughts.

Impulsively, he wanted to draw his Dark Gold Sword and harshly sanction this shameless thief.

“Jack,” Kamiyu called out.

She pulled the impulsive Jack back to her side and tossed him a Mind-Steadying Potion to help him calm down.

Unbeknownst to her, this action caught Qian Long’s attention, and his eyes gleamed with greed. “A potion? Something I’ve never seen before. Probably high-quality stuff. I’ll steal it later.”

Seeing Jack’s breathing steady and calm, Kamiyu asked, “What happened when the gauntlets disappeared just now?”

Jack wore a look of regret. “It’s my fault. I didn’t protect what you gave me well enough. I’ll definitely get it back.”

“Don’t worry about it if it’s gone. That trash probably doesn’t even know how to use it.” Kamiyu deliberately raised her voice so Qian Long, not far away, could hear.

“Hah, saying I don’t know how to use it? Want me to recite word for word what the special effects of this weapon are?” Qian Long taunted, bending over mockingly.

He threw punches into the air, each one producing a fiery effect. “I have to admit, this weapon of yours is really impressive. Every punch stores 1% of some kind of fire attribute damage. Whether it hits the enemy or not, as long as you throw a punch, you can store damage.”

After saying this, Qian Long deliberately dragged out the time, accelerating his air punches to accumulate fire attribute damage for the Elemental Sprite’s Piggy Bank.

From the tree branch, Men San overheard and, despite his cold demeanor, revealed a flicker of greed in his eyes. He muttered disdainfully, “Hmph, that lowlife Qian Long got lucky.”

Jack and Kamiyu exchanged a glance, understanding each other’s thoughts.

“Dare to steal our things? We’ll bury you without a second thought.”

While the Endless Fury Gauntlets were indeed powerful, not just anyone could use them. “The user suffers equal damage”—this alone would be enough to make Qian Long suffer.

Seeing him frantically punching the air, clearly unaware of how terrifying Hellfire Fist could be, they knew he was in for a rude awakening. Burning the enemy was terrifying, but burning oneself was even worse.

Not everyone had the courage to set themselves on fire. Only experts like Jack, who had already “grown accustomed” to it, dared to use it.

Even if it didn’t cause damage, the terrifying flame effects and the momentary suffocation would deter most users.

The two of them had already prepared a battle plan: continuously storing fire attribute damage in the Elemental Sprite’s Piggy Bank.

As the designer of this weapon, Kamiyu knew full well the description of the Elemental Sprite’s Piggy Bank: “All damage suffered by the holder can be accumulated and stored.”

What Kamiyu needed to do was continuously attack Qian Long with the Demon-Repelling Holy Flame.

With that, Kamiyu removed the Magic Bullet and switched to Common Bullets. A normal attack would suffice, as Kamiyu was afraid a single shot might kill this lanky fellow.

She wanted this despicable thief to be burned to death by the flames of Hell, not electrocuted—that would be too quick and painless.

Kamiyu exchanged a glance with Jack.

Jack immediately drew the Black Mist Hook-Chain. This time was different—it was 2 versus 2. Jack had to act as Kamiyu’s shield, so he needed to use the Hook-Chain’s Vulnerable and Bleed affixes to grant himself a 15x Defense effect.

Just as Kamiyu was about to make her move, the people inside the Black Sphere Room showed no signs of excitement. Instead, their faces were ashen with dread.

Brother Dong was the first to criticize: “This pink-haired girl named Kamiyu clearly doesn’t know how to play. At a time like this, she’s still holding onto that gun. Does she really have no other weapons?”

Xiao Zhong defended Kamiyu: “Don’t underestimate that gun. That weapon once instantly killed a Third-Tier Ability User like Bald Tiger.”

“A Third-Tier Ability User? What a joke. Wasn’t it the Black Armor Warrior who weakened Bald Tiger to Low HP, letting her steal the kill? Anyone could do that. Her weapon isn’t even as good as the Black Sphere weapon you farmed.” Brother Dong continued to rant.

This time, Xiao Zhong couldn’t argue. The Black Sphere weapon he farmed was only Common Tier, so it really wasn’t that impressive.

“Stop arguing and look! That female player is firing. Maybe she’ll pull off something amazing,” one player said, focusing intently on the screen.

Back on the battlefield, Hou Ao’s “Immortal” Talent saved his life. His flesh-regeneration Talent allowed him to rebuild his body, reviving him at Full HP.

The moment Hou Ao saw the Black Armor Warrior charging toward him, fear flashed in his eyes. His body trembled uncontrollably, and he couldn’t even speak. He wanted to flee but was immobilized, unable to move a muscle.

“Hou Ao, don’t be scared. Your Brother Long is right here with you. I’ve already stolen the Black Armor Warrior’s gauntlets—he’s a tiger without teeth now, nothing to fear. Go get him!” Qian Long’s words sounded encouraging, but he was actually setting Hou Ao up.

He wanted Hou Ao to take the hit for him, so he could stay behind and throw punches to accumulate fire-attribute damage.

Kamiyu found it amusing to see Qian Long swinging his fists frantically like a starving ghost. She thought to herself, “Just wait, you’ll get what’s coming. But since you’re punching so slowly, let me speed things up for you.”

Kamiyu raised the Demon-Repelling Holy Flame and fired a shot at Qian Long.

“Hou Ao, block the bullet for me!” Qian Long shouted in panic.

Qian Long had witnessed the weapon’s miraculous power before—it had taken down Bald Tiger, another Third-Tier Ability User, with a single shot. He didn’t believe Kamiyu had merely stolen the Black Armor Warrior’s kill. Instead, he thought the Black Armor Warrior had deliberately let her finish off Bald Tiger with her high-DPS weapon. Thus, this gun was also within his plans for acquisition.

So, when he heard the “bang” of the gunshot, fear gripped him, and he used all his strength to dodge the bullet.

Kamiyu’s marksmanship was exceptional. The bullet slipped through the gaps, bypassing Hou Ao’s block, and was about to hit Qian Long.

Even Men San, perched on the tree branch, grew tense, his fingers unconsciously gripping his arm. He too had seen how powerful this weapon was and wondered if a Third-Tier Ability User could withstand it.

The people in the Black Sphere Room were on edge. One girl even clasped her hands together, closed her eyes, and prayed for Kamiyu.

“Please hit, please hit.”

“Come on, you’re our last hope. No matter what, you must kill these Ability Users.”

Unfortunately, Qian Long had a sudden inspiration and, as if possessed, swung his fist to strike the supersonic bullet.

With a “pong” sound.

A massive burst of flame and smoke erupted from Qian Long’s body.

Everyone in the Black Sphere Room stood up.

“Did it work?”

Brother Dong snorted: “No need to look. There’s smoke but no damage, and it’s not the previous Lightning Element damage.”
