Chapter 130: Class
Chapter 130: Class
But isn’t it dangerous for Lilith to leave the Demon King City? As a bearer of the Demon King Seed, she is more likely to gain the Demon King’s favor compared to other descendants of the Demon King. Leaving the Demon King City at this time could lead to unpredictable changes, but Zhai Guangyi couldn’t say much about it. After all, this was the Demon King’s affair. Even though he was currently an infant, Zhai Guangyi dared not underestimate him.
Thanks to Zhai Guangyi’s Teleportation Magic, there was no urgent need to rush back. If the Hero hadn’t sent the message himself, Zhai Guangyi might have been caught off guard, as there were no Demigods in Banwang City. Xiong Batian often moved around near his True Body, and many Magical Beasts required her leadership.
Feicui was a Demigod he had picked up along the way, but he had never seen him go out to fight. Nowadays, he spent his days watering the young Spirit Tree saplings, cleaning around his True Body, and tending to the tree roots. He never strayed more than two hundred meters from Zhai Guangyi’s True Body.
But now, with Liya and Dahei as additional Demigods, Dahei and Liya could be sent to support Xiong Da. The human army wouldn’t reach Banwang City that quickly.
He really had to thank the Hero, Lin Xiaobai. However, Zhai Guangyi remembered that Lin Xiaobai used to be very timid. As the Hero, he was surely being used like a dog by the Church. Zhai Guangyi definitely needed to repay him and hoped he would provide more explosive information. The chat group was already serving this purpose.
Lanni helped her master, Zhai Guangyi, adjust his school uniform, while Zhai Guangyi occasionally glanced at the Magic Mirror, seemingly not taking the enrollment seriously. But then again, Zhai Guangyi was now a Demon King’s Army Cadre—a status countless students in the Demon King University dreamed of. They fought tooth and nail just to enroll, let alone become a Demon King’s Army Cadre.
Yet Zhai Guangyi could come and go freely in this school with just a word, even bringing along a Maid like her. It was easy to imagine how special the person she was taking care of was.
“Honored One, we should enter the classroom now,” Lanni said, adjusting the tie of his school uniform to remind him.
“Mm, right. We’re classmates now too. Look, we’re wearing the same uniform. You can just call me Classmate.”
It was better not to create too much distinction at school. After all, he was just a struggling little thug working away from home. Causing too much trouble wouldn’t make it easy to explain things to Lilith.
Following Lanni’s guidance, Zhai Guangyi walked into the back of a classroom.
The teacher here was already in the middle of a lesson. Zhai Guangyi was a sudden transfer student, and the procedures had been processed quickly. The teacher only knew that a special transfer student was joining—nothing more, not even his identity. However, the teacher understood that this student required full cooperation in teaching, and any requests should be accommodated as much as possible.
Halfway through the lesson, the teacher nodded at Zhai Guangyi. Zhai Guangyi quietly nodded back from his seat in response.
The students listening in front turned to look. A stunningly beautiful Maiden with an exaggerated figure sat next to another petite and adorable Forest Elf. The two instantly became a unique sight in the classroom.
Especially Zhai Guangyi, with his long ears—Forest Elves were completely unseen in the Demon King City. It was as if a character from a textbook had stepped into reality.
The Demon King waged war across the World, and many races held a strong aversion toward the Demon Race. For an Elf like Zhai Guangyi, encountering a member of the Demon Race would typically lead to a skirmish. Yet now, he found himself sitting in a classroom learning Magic—a truly peculiar experience.
The teacher was instructing them on a Magic that caused the ground to tremble. This was the very Earth-Shaking Magic that Jielude had used before, with an almost identical effect. Its operation relied primarily on the arrangement of incantation runes.
As soon as Zhai Guangyi arrived, the Demon Race students sensed that their teacher was putting in extra effort today. Previously, the teacher would explain things once and leave it at that—whether the students understood or not was their own problem. But today was different. The teacher was animatedly lecturing below, writing various corresponding incantation runes on the blackboard. Even when he noticed Zhai Guangyi slightly frowning, the teacher would re-explain with new examples, using simpler and more understandable methods.
Zhai Guangyi’s foundation was very weak; he couldn’t even comprehend those runes. Lanni had filled her notebook with extensive class notes, but when she glanced at her master’s notes, she saw only blank pages adorned with a cute little kitten and a few symbols.
Was this really the same expert who had discussed knowledge on equal terms with the great Mage Lvqi? Could it be that he found this Magic too simple? That taking notes was unnecessary?
In truth, Zhai Guangyi found it somewhat difficult. These symbols were obscure and hard to grasp. This Earth-Shaking Magic could also be cast by summoning an earth spirit, or he could rely on his max-level Spirit Magic to use it. However, the Magic Power consumed was disproportionate to the power produced. Using incantations to drive the Magic consumed less Magic Power while yielding greater force.
Of course, Zhai Guangyi could achieve even more powerful effects by recklessly pouring in Magic Power without regard for cost. But in battle, true strength lay in accomplishing more with limited Magic Power, not in wasteful and indiscriminate use.
Thus, learning Magic was essential. Yet, wanting to learn and actually doing so were two very different things. As soon as Zhai Guangyi began the class, his mind felt muddled. The moment he looked at the blackboard, he instinctively grew drowsy. Even though his True Body had reached the Demigod Rank, he still felt sleepy during class.
But the teacher kept glancing his way, which, having endured nine years of compulsory education, made Zhai Guangyi afraid to sleep. He could only force himself to stay awake, constantly frowning, his eyes darting around. The teacher at the podium, however, interpreted this differently. Drenched in sweat, he gestured animatedly, explaining principles and details repeatedly, all to showcase his excellence as an educator.
When the class ended, Zhai Guangyi was astonished by Lanni’s notes. She was undoubtedly a top student. Her class notes were as detailed as records from an interrogation room, even meticulously documenting the teaching habits of the instructor.
Inside the notebook were well-organized notes on incantations, far more accessible than the System’s jumbled pile of information that left one unsure where to start.
Zhai Guangyi felt that as long as he brought Lanni to class, her post-lecture notes would be sufficient for his studies. Combined with his own vague recollection of the classroom content, learning would proceed quickly.
Zhai Guangyi and Lanni walked one after the other along the classroom corridor. Many oddly shaped young individuals poked their heads out of classrooms to observe the scene outside. A Forest Elf actually attending the Demon King’s Magic Academy—such a thing was truly unexpected.
The key point is that the Forest Elf is quite cute, and the Maiden beside her has a strong professional Maid vibe, and she’s quite large.
Everyone began to inquire about information on these two. The living corpse Maiden is fairly normal, a common race among the Demon Race. But the Forest Elf is rare, making people unable to resist wanting to understand what reason brought the Forest Elf to enroll, curious about how the Forest Elf feels studying among the Demon Race.
