Chapter 133: Qing Jiu
Chapter 133: Qing Jiu
This was truly an excellent place to hone close-combat skills. Whether it was the Demon Race members engaged in battle or those who had successfully grasped their own Martial Techniques, Zhai Guangyi could have the System record them all.
Now, the ‘World’ could reproduce many things, including combat techniques, Magic, and more—all of which the System could utilize.
Zhai Guangyi had considered that if he let the System control his body to fight, its strength would likely far surpass his own.
Such an exceptional System, used only as a question-answering machine, was indeed somewhat wasteful.
Previously, any Magic taught in class could be replicated by the System as long as it had experienced or witnessed it. While Zhai Guangyi himself couldn’t achieve such feats, wasn’t anything the System could do essentially equivalent to what he could do?
After all, the System was an embodiment of his own Skill, intrinsically one with him. If he handed over the individual ‘Zhai Guangyi’ to the System’s control, or created a new Avatar Body for the System to control, wouldn’t he be able to achieve a carefree, laid-back life?
His True Body was merely a tree. If not for the sake of strengthening his Followers, he wouldn’t have bothered coming to the academy to learn these things.
Watching a blue-haired Oni Race warrior brutally kick a burly minotaur warrior off the Arena Platform in the Arena, Zhai Guangyi’s thoughts returned to his body.
Based on observation, this blue-haired Oni man was likely the one with the most victories in this Arena. The System had learned over a hundred Martial Techniques from him, and now only needed practical combat to test the data, while also probing whether he could unleash even more powerful Martial Techniques.
Zhai Guangyi no longer listened to Huide’s complaints beside him. He stood up directly and used Teleportation Magic to appear at the center of the Arena Platform where the blue-haired Oni warrior stood. The Demon Race members on the Spectator Stands, who had been scrambling to enter, immediately halted.
It was the first time they had encountered someone using Teleportation Magic to rush into a beating—and a Forest Elf Maiden who had just joined the School of Brute Force at that. Truly reckless and ignorant of the dangers; such rashness might leave her bedridden for months.
It was common knowledge that Forest Elves were not adept at close combat. Elves generally excelled in assassination, Magic, archery, and the like. In a place purely focused on physical prowess and close-combat strength, Forest Elves rarely achieved victory.
The Arena Platform wasn’t large. The blue-haired Oni, Qing Jiu, looked at Zhai Guangyi with displeasure. Such a frail Forest Elf—he could send him flying with a single punch. What a waste of his time.
Although the School of Brute Force had few superfluous rules, it was normal practice in the Arena to choose opponents of equal or slightly higher strength. Occasionally, there were those who wanted to challenge masters far beyond their level, but such encounters were mostly a waste of time. Battles that ended in an instant offered neither side a true taste of combat—it was merely a one-sided slaughter.
This was exactly what Qing Jiu found vexing. His time was limited; he could only spend two hours a day in the Arena, with other matters to attend to afterward. Now, yet another weakling who didn’t know their place wanted to challenge him. He hated encountering such situations the most.
Qing Jiu didn’t care about Zhai Guangyi’s gender; here, his only responsibility was to kick him out of the arena. However, Qing Jiu’s kick didn’t go as planned. Zhai Guangyi’s palm, wrapped in blue magic power, collided with Qing Jiu’s leg. The two forces instantly clashed, generating a tremendous impact that pushed Zhai Guangyi and Qing Jiu apart.
Huide had been startled when Zhai Guangyi suddenly vanished and reappeared in Qing Jiu’s arena. He had just finished explaining the rules here, and now this guy had chosen the strongest opponent. What was he supposed to do?
But Qing Jiu’s attack was easily deflected by Zhai Guangyi, and Qing Jiu didn’t even gain the upper hand. This was a Forest Elf! It was the first time he had seen a Forest Elf achieve such mastery in martial techniques.
“Interesting. It seems he’s not one of those weaklings,” Qing Jiu immediately grew intrigued. The technique Zhai Guangyi had used to counterattack was one of the martial techniques he had employed to defeat his opponent in the previous match. It was a technique he had created himself, capable of sending an opponent flying with minimal energy consumption. He himself had been sent flying by this very technique.
To dare challenge him using his own martial technique—this guy was interesting.
The Demon Race students in the spectator stands were stunned. A Forest Elf lady who had just arrived could actually use Qing Jiu’s unique martial technique. Although this technique didn’t deal much damage, its energy consumption was extremely low. Many Demon Race students had lined up daily, hoping to learn and comprehend Qing Jiu’s technique by sparring with him.
Of course, it wasn’t Zhai Guangyi who had used the martial technique just now, but the System generated by the ‘World’. At this moment, Zhai Guangyi’s soul was like a spectator, watching the System operate.
Although Zhai Guangyi had asked the System to replicate these martial techniques from the School of Brute Force, this challenge was proposed by the System itself. It claimed it was to verify the final effects of the martial techniques and to probe Qing Jiu for more powerful techniques. According to the System’s analysis, Qing Jiu still had hidden skills up his sleeve.
Zhai Guangyi naturally agreed. It was rare for the System to take the initiative to learn, and he was very pleased. If the System weren’t so rigid, he would have soared to success long ago. He hoped the System could become smarter—not that it was stupid, but many things still required human effort, and the System couldn’t replace a real person.
Seeing that his first attack was ineffective, Qing Jiu unleashed an even more powerful martial technique. His entire body was enveloped in a white glow, and his body attributes were greatly enhanced. Yet, right in front of him, Zhai Guangyi used the exact same technique, also enveloped in a white glow. The two clashed once again with identical martial techniques.
With Appraisal, Zhai Guangyi discovered that his own body attributes had become identical to Qing Jiu’s, and even his previously unchanging 100 health points had changed. The System’s main goal was to spar with Qing Jiu and test the martial techniques, essentially turning him into another Qing Jiu. Only the System could achieve such precise adjustments using the Spiritual Body of Magic Control.
Huide, watching from the stands, was utterly shocked. Zhai Guangyi was actually this formidable. Earlier, he had worried that Zhai Guangyi would end up like him, constantly avoiding defeat. Now, it seemed he had the strength to protect himself. Not only that, but he was evenly matched with Qing Jiu, a Half-Step Demigod, and it appeared he was even imitating Qing Jiu’s martial techniques on the spot.
Qing Jiu always used Martial Techniques before Zhai Guangyi, and then Zhai Guangyi would retaliate with equivalent Martial Techniques. At first, Zhai Guangyi’s Martial Techniques were somewhat inferior to Qing Jiu’s, but after a few more exchanges, Zhai Guangyi completely grasped Qing Jiu’s Martial Techniques, unleashing attacks of equal or even greater power. This was utterly unreasonable.
Initially, Qing Jiu thought Zhai Guangyi already knew his Martial Techniques, but now it seemed that was not the case at all. Whenever he displayed a Martial Technique, Zhai Guangyi would simultaneously reveal a new one as well, with their movements even synchronized. This Forest Elf was actually imitating him directly in the Arena, and even holding back against him—this was nothing short of an insult.
