Chapter 123 – Skybracer
Chapter 123 – Skybracer
Upon seeing this, Qiu Bai nodded, then instantly vanished without a trace.
When he reappeared, he was already outside.
Morax and the others had long been standing beside this chaotic sphere.
Then, the sphere dissipated into points of light and vanished.
“This Barrier of yours is truly sturdy.”
“You must have put in quite some effort.”
Azhdaha, with his hands behind his back, smiled at Qiu Bai.
“It cost me nearly half of my Divine Power, along with Talismans crafted over several decades.”
“All destroyed just like that, but saving you makes it all worthwhile.”
Qiu Bai looked at Azhdaha and spoke with a smile.
It was a pity that this Barrier could no longer hold.
During the recent great battle, the Barrier had been on the verge of collapse.
It was only because Qiu Bai had been continuously maintaining it with his Divine Power that it had not been destroyed.
“Cloud Retainer, come over here!”
“It’s over now!”
Qiu Bai shouted with Divine Power, and the Barrier he had been maintaining around them disappeared.
Several True Lords, the Five Yakshas, and Qiu Yue all flew over.
“Hehe, this is truly a joyous occasion.”
Ping’er stood in the sky, smiling at Azhdaha as she spoke.
“You are Ping’er?”
“It’s been a long time. I recall you once competed with that old friend of ours in the art of music.”
Azhdaha looked at Ping’er and spoke with a smile.
“Those are all things of the distant past.”
“Hehe… why bring them up now.”
Ping’er sighed and shook her head, then turned her gaze toward the ground.
“Hahaha…”
“Azhdaha, it is good that you have returned.”
Morax, whose stone-like face had remained unchanged for millennia, now wore a faint smile at the corners of his mouth.
“Azhdaha, why have you taken the form of a youth?”
“It doesn’t suit you. I remember you used to look like a middle-aged man, didn’t you?”
Cloud Retainer looked at the Dragon King Azhdaha, who was pretending to be young, and teased with a laugh.
“Since the Erosion has been restored, wouldn’t it be unfitting to remain as I was?”
“Wouldn’t that be inconsistent with my image?”
Dragon King Azhdaha looked at his old friends and laughed as well.
“Cloud Retainer, are you ignoring me?”
“It’s been so long since we last met. Have you missed me?”
Qiu Bai crossed his arms and spoke with a smile.
“Go away, it hasn’t been that long!”
“Who would miss you?”
Cloud Retainer, in human form, waved her hand dismissively at Qiu Bai and spoke with a hint of tsundere pride.
“Brother, Qiu Yue missed you.”
Qiu Yue smiled happily and hugged Qiu Bai.
“I missed you too, little sister.”
Qiu Bai gently patted his sister’s head and spoke softly.
“This is wonderful, Adeptus Lord, Rex Lapis, and Dragon King.”
“You are all safe. It truly brings joy.”
Bonanus looked at the scene and spoke happily.
“Hahaha, this calls for a drink.”
“Don’t you think so, Menogias?”
Bosacius wrapped his large arm around Menogias’s shoulder and laughed heartily.
“Get off me, Bosacius!”
“All you think about is drinking.”
Menogias looked at Bosacius with a face full of disdain and muttered in exasperation.
“Ah, you guys.”
Indarias sighed helplessly, rubbing his forehead.
Xiao remained silent, simply watching the group with a faint smile on his lips.
“However, it seems there is still one old friend who has yet to appear.”
“True Lord Skybracer.”
Qiu Bai crossed his arms, looking at the gathered Adepti, and spoke calmly.
True Lord Skybracer’s horn, having absorbed the essence of Rex Lapis’s Geo power, was once the hardest substance in all of Liyue.
In the midst of a battle, with immense force erupting and mountains collapsing, he, to avoid harming the village at the foot of the mountain, willingly asked his friend to cut off his antlers. Using those blood-soaked antlers as a fulcrum, he propped up the entire mountain. And he himself fought on until his last drop of blood was shed. Today, Mt. Tianheng, which he once held up, still stands tall and majestic. The blood he shed in that desperate battle converged to form the Bishui River.
“Sky, Skybracer?” Xiao seemed to recall something and sighed. Back then, it was Xiao who had cut off his antlers.
“Adeptus Lord, do you intend to revive Skybracer?” Bosacius looked at Qiu Bai with shock.
Qiu Bai smiled and nodded. Then, in an instant, he vanished. He reappeared by a river south of Qingce Village, where he collected some river water. This river was none other than the Bishui River. In the next moment, he returned to the gathering of the Adepti. The river water floated above Qiu Bai’s palm as Yin-Yang Dual Qi continuously swirled in his hand, infusing into the water. Under the astonished gazes of the Adepti, the Yin-Yang Dual Qi gradually transformed into a beast-like Adeptus with antlers on its head. After a long while, Skybracer was fully revived by Qiu Bai.
Skybracer’s body was adorned with golden lines, emitting a faint glow, while his tail shimmered with blue light. He stared blankly at the Adepti. “You… all of you? I’ve been revived?” Skybracer’s deer-like head looked down at his own body in disbelief.
“It was I who revived you. This is now Liyue Harbor, two thousand years later,” Qiu Bai said calmly, looking at Skybracer.
“Who are you?” Skybracer asked Qiu Bai, puzzled. “And… Lord Rex Lapis?!” He turned his head and looked at Morax in astonishment.
Azhdaha was also deeply shocked, never expecting Qiu Bai to be capable of reviving the deceased.
“Oh, my goodness! Qiu Bai can actually revive people!” Paimon was so stunned she could hardly speak.
Lumine’s mouth hung open as she stared at Qiu Bai.
“Allow me to explain,” Morax said with a smile, looking at the bewildered Skybracer. He then recounted the events of the past few millennia to Skybracer.
“I see. Adeptus Lord, I apologize for my rudeness,” Skybracer said, transforming into a young man and bowing respectfully to Qiu Bai.
“Hehe, it’s fine. It’s a good thing you’ve returned,” Qiu Bai replied with a smile.
“As the God of Yin and Yang, possessing the Authority to revive, it is only right that I do something,” Qiu Bai said, smiling as he addressed the stunned Adepti.
After a long while, the Adepti gradually regained their composure, though they still looked at Qiu Bai with some disbelief. However, the four Yakshas showed no surprise, as they too had been revived by the Adeptus Lord. Qiu Yue also observed the Adepti, unsure why they were so astonished. Even she could allow the deceased to linger in this world temporarily, so it seemed only natural that her brother could revive people.
“Hehe, Skybracer, you’ve actually returned. Why not go and see your abode?” Moon Carver stepped forward, smiling at Skybracer.
“Yes, it has been thousands of years…”
“Your abode remains unchanged.”
Mountain Shaper, looking at the bewildered Skybracer, said with a smile.
“You lot are still exactly as you were before.”
“I truly never imagined that one day, I could speak with you all like this again.”
Skybracer in human form turned his head, gazing at his old friends, and spoke with a smile.
