Chapter 111: Just Better at Flexing Than You

Chapter 111: Just Better at Flexing Than You

Guild Manor, Office.

Faced with hidden schemes and conspiracies in the shadows, as well as the overt challenge of the Hell Tide, Kamiyu decided to change her approach. She would appropriately reveal part of her Talent abilities. After becoming the city lord, she needed a group of players who supported her to serve as her citizens.

Without citizens, how could there be a city lord?

Put on a one-man show alone?

Thus, Li Changde summoned Vice Guild Leader Wu Yong and Logistics Department Head Qian Ming.

After some time.

Having learned part of the truth, Wu Yong and Qian Ming were both surprised and delighted. They were surprised that the Blacksmith function truly existed, and delighted that Kamiyu, who possessed the “Blacksmith function,” was willing to help their guild overcome the difficulties together.

Wu Yong asked Kamiyu, “Then what should I call you?”

Li Changde spoke first, “Within the guild, only the three of us know Miss Kamiyu’s true identity. According to Miss Kamiyu’s wishes, her identity must remain concealed for now, so we should continue using the previous form of address.”

Kamiyu nodded, “Aside from the three of you, the high-ranking officials and Priest An Dao know my identity, but they are unaware of my abilities.”

Qian Ming, however, raised a question, “I speak bluntly. I don’t understand why we must conceal her identity—such a foolish act. Since the enemies already know, what is there left to hide?”

“Qian Ming, do not be disrespectful to Lord Beta Tester,” Li Changde scolded.

Wu Yong also chimed in, “If I possessed such a unique and powerful Talent, I would also hide it and tell no one. Otherwise, I would lose my freedom and be captured like a milk cow.”

This time, it was Kamiyu who stopped Li Changde. She said, “Don’t you find it strange? The high-ranking officials and the Holy Light Church’s priest clearly know my identity, yet they don’t expose it. There are no rumors about my true identity outside either. It’s as if they tacitly accept my false identity.”

Including Jack, the four men in the room showed expressions of surprise, each lost in their own thoughts.

“Miss Jia is right.”

“That’s true. Why are there no rumors outside, and why did the authorities remove the wanted notice so quickly?”

“All of this can only be summarized as a conspiracy behind the scenes,” Kamiyu said.

The others agreed.

Kamiyu continued, “Plus, after meeting that guy Priest An Dao today, I’m certain he’s hiding something behind his back. That’s why I’m semi-revealing my identity and changing my approach to guard against this old monster.”

“That makes sense.”

“I never expected the Holy Light Church to be hiding things. And here I’ve been offering them tributes all along,” Li Changde frowned.

For Kamiyu, this was merely a move born of necessity. She didn’t know what the conspiracy in the shadows was. The only thing she could do was first resolve the overt crisis—the invasion of the Hell Tide. Moreover, while defending against the Hell Tide invasion, she had to preserve her own strength to deal with unknown crises.

Thus, she had to cooperate with the guild.

“After all this talk, we should return to the main topic,” Kamiyu said.

“Please,” Li Changde replied.

“The guild’s 800 troops, just tell me what you need. As long as there are enough materials, I’ll craft them immediately,” Kamiyu said, flexing without any restraint.

“Really? 800 troops require supplies starting in the thousands. Even the black market has stopped trading now. How are you going to get the items?” asked Qian Ming, head of the Logistics Department.

“Then don’t blink,” said Kamiyu, preparing to pull items out of her storage.

What she pulled out was bigger than anything anyone in the room had ever seen.

The others watched her performance with anticipation.

“Ah, forget it,” Kamiyu stopped her action.

“What are you doing?” Jack said, exasperated.

Qian Ming showed a faint, indifferent smile. He still didn’t believe there could be a talent with blacksmithing functions.

“This room is too small; it can’t handle it,” Kamiyu said, flexing.

“This place is 500 square meters, and it still can’t hold it? Even if you are Lord Beta Tester, I have to say, do you know how much stuff 500 square meters of space can hold?” Qian Ming retorted.

“Qian Ming, you can’t be disrespectful to Lord Beta Tester,” Wu Ming said anxiously. Kamiyu was the only “Blacksmith” in the entire server. Offending the Guild Leader or Lei Yao was one thing, but offending her was out of the question.

This Qian Ming just couldn’t think clearly at critical moments.

Li Changde also stepped forward to explain repeatedly, “Miss Kamiyu, please don’t take offense. Qian Ming doesn’t mean any harm; he’s just rigid, meticulous, and impersonal. That’s why we put him in charge of the most lucrative position as head of the Logistics Department.”

Kamiyu was initially a bit angry, wondering how someone could become a department head and still lack such awareness.

It turned out Li Changde had done it on purpose—assigning someone without awareness to a job that required none.

This taught her another lesson in personnel management: if you put a sly person in charge of managing supplies, wouldn’t that be like letting a mouse into the rice jar?

Li Changde said, “Please follow me. Let’s go to the storage. There happen to be more materials there, and we can directly convert it into a workshop for you to use, Miss Kamiyu.”

Kamiyu nodded, and the group made their way to the guild storage.

It was a 2,000-square-meter warehouse, five meters high. Kamiyu felt as if she were in a real-life warehouse-style supermarket.

“You actually built a storage facility?” Kamiyu saw shelves filled with a dazzling array of items and materials.

“Exactly. Small guilds and squads can only rely on personal spatial backpacks to store items. Only large guilds like ours have the qualifications and ability to materialize spatial backpacks into a guild storage,” Qian Ming proudly explained.

“But your entire guild farmed for a week, and this is all you got?” Kamiyu had been overjoyed, expecting mountains of materials filling the entire warehouse like a dragon king’s treasure trove.

But here, it felt like less than half of what she had in her own storage.

She asked Li Changde, “Guild Leader Li, is everything stored here now? Didn’t you farm materials in instance dungeons for a week before?”

Qian Ming replied first: “Are you suspecting me of embezzling guild assets?””

“I just want to say, if what’s stored here is really the harvest from seven days of farming, it’s not even half of what Jack and I collected,” Kamiyu said.

Jack nodded and said, “This doesn’t seem reasonable.”

Invincible had two to three hundred people farming for seven days, and Kamiyu and Jack had also farmed for seven days.

Why can’t two or three hundred people match half of what two people can do? Is she just that much more capable?

The answer is quite obvious.

That is, she, Kamiyu, is simply more capable. Her backpack space can hold more than others, with one person’s capacity rivaling that of hundreds.

Before Qian Ming could excitedly explain, Li Changde said in surprise, “That’s not right. We’ve always kept statistics on how many materials members can gather in one run based on their Backpack Capacity. Qian Ming isn’t lying.”

“Everyone’s Backpack Capacity is fixed. May I ask, Miss Kamiyu, what is your Backpack Capacity?” Wu Yong seemed to have figured it out—this was all just a misunderstanding.
