Chapter 119: Blood Sun in the Sky

Chapter 119: Blood Sun in the Sky

“Dong, dong, dong, dong, dong.” The urgent tolling of church bells rang out, making everyone in the entire Main City even more tense.

Suddenly, in an instant, an invisible frequency wave swept across the entire Crimson Earth.

“Zzzzzz.” Kamiyu heard this electric buzzing sound and wondered, what was going on?

“Forget it, now’s not the time to dwell on this.” As agreed, she took out the Heavenly Father Altar fragment from her spatial storage.

“Zzzzzz.” The electric buzzing sounded again.

“The altar fragment is heating up.” Kamiyu felt a burning sensation in her chest.

“Is the altar fragment responding to this frequency?” Kamiyu said, touching the blue octahedral crystal.

She thought to herself, if that was the case, did it mean the Hell Tide had officially begun, and only now would the monsters killed have their hatred absorbed into the crystal?

That was possible. Then she would fire the first shot.

When Kamiyu looked up, she was stunned by everything before her.

“Is this the Hell Tide? So this is what the ‘crimson’ in Crimson Earth means.” In the moment Kamiyu lowered and raised her head, the entire Crimson Earth underwent a dramatic transformation.

It was as if it had turned into Hell. The originally dark yellow soil had become crimson red, as if stained with blood.

The originally pitch-black night sky was now gone. The sun had appeared from somewhere, but it was a dark, eclipsed sun. A massive black spot obscured it, and directly below the dark sun, a waterfall of eerie red light poured down, as if drenching the entire land in blood.

“Wow, are they really going this far? Even the weather and sky have changed.” Kamiyu swallowed hard.

Players in the other thirteen Sanctuaries were also terrified by this exaggerated celestial phenomenon. They didn’t dare to sneak around or act recklessly, huddling inside their Sanctuaries and not daring to provoke the Aberrant Beast Demons.

With no Sanctuaries to share the pressure, the entire Hell Army marched toward the last Main City, the last Heavenly Father Altar. This put even greater pressure on Main City Kaijistan.

On the northern city wall.

“Everyone, look! The Aberrant Beast Demons are coming!” a new player standing on the wall shouted loudly.

“Holy crap, why are the vanguards Level 20 Red-Helmed Scorpion Monsters? Weren’t they Level 5 Goblins before?” a veteran player exclaimed, mouth agape.

“And not just that, mixed behind the Scorpion Monsters are Level 25 Cyclops,” another veteran player said with a deep frown.

“We’re done for, we’re done for. There must be hundreds of Scorpion Monsters here at a glance. The main force of the Second-Tier Teams is only Level 17 or 18. How are we supposed to fight?” a Guild player said.

“It’s over. This is just the first wave. The Hell Tide won’t stop until enough Aberrant Beast Demons are killed. With our forces so weak, how are we supposed to fight?”

“Hurry and get the Frontline Team from the south to send reinforcements!” a Squad player grabbed a newcomer player from Invincible by the collar and said.

“What are you still standing there for?”

“Without the Guild Leader’s orders, we’re not allowed to leave the city wall,” the newcomer player said firmly.

“Damn it, use your head! Go report the situation!” the person shouted.

“Forget it, I’m going offline. If the sky falls, the tall ones will hold it up. You guys have fun,” a Solo player chose to flee from the battle.

At the West Cliff Sanctuary, Lei Yao saw chaos beginning to erupt within the main city and noticed numerous blue-white flashes of light that signaled players going offline. He sneered contemptuously, “A rabble. I’ve always said that you so-called free players are nothing but a disorganized mob.”

The other staff officers nodded in agreement and asked, “Should we enter the fray early?”

Lei Yao replied, “No need to rush. Summoning these high-level Aberrant Beast Demons cost me a great deal of effort. Let them cause more destruction and kill more players first. Then we’ll step in to eliminate these Aberrant Beast Demons. Otherwise, my summoned creatures would have been wasted for nothing.”

“If I had known earlier, I wouldn’t have spent so much effort on dungeon grinding.”

It turned out that Lei Yao had previously ignored the official order to pursue Kamiyu and instead gathered a large force to grind dungeons, all to gather enough sacrifices to summon the Aberrant Beast Demons and prepare his chess pieces for the assault on the Main City Kaijistan.

What a “Human Traitor” Lei Yao truly was.

Upon hearing his words, each of his subordinates wore complicated expressions.

Back at the Main City Kaijistan.

The first to appear were BOSS-level Aberrants starting from level 20. Even the frontline teams on the southern battlefield might not withstand them, terrifying many players who had hoped to stick around and muddle through, causing them to flee offline in panic.

“Sigh, even with potions and armor, this is tough.”

“Forget it, if we die, we die. Brothers, follow me and charge!”

Just as everyone was overcome with despair, a calm, clear female voice rang out from the western tower.

“Activate Skill: Headshot Strike, stacking 300% Attack Power;”

“Load Magic Bullet (Triple Attributes): Thunderstorm Bullet, stacking 300% Attack Power;”

“Select Mode: Arc Splatter;”

“Stack Armor-Piercing Bullet.”

After “chanting” her preparatory skills, Kamiyu called out softly, “Fire.”

A beam of platinum light shot from the western tower, piercing the blood-red sky and striking deep into the Hell Army five kilometers away.

Light travels faster than sound. Only after the lightning struck the monster horde did the thunderous “boom” echo across the battlefield.

A large swath of the Aberrant Beast Demon tide on the northern battlefield was instantly vaporized. Rows of level 20 Scorpion Monsters and level 22 mutated Skeleton Horses were electrocuted into charcoal by Kamiyu’s Arc Splatter.

Instantly, a gaping hole appeared in the neatly arranged Hell Army.

The Heavenly Father does not neglect any defender of the city.

【Ding.】

【Congratulations, Player, you have leveled up to 18 (73548/730000). You have gained 1 Enhancement Point. Current Enhancement Points: 6.】

【Heavenly Father Exchange Points: 1440】

Feeling the slightly heated gun barrel, Kamiyu raised an eyebrow and remarked, “Good thing I used Enhancement Points to re-harden the NTW-40 earlier. Otherwise, it really wouldn’t have held up.”

“In Arc Splatter Mode, each bullet that hits an enemy generates five full-damage arcs. Paired with Armor-Piercing Rounds, it’s a perfect match. That last shot probably pierced through ten enemies, generating fifty full-damage arcs,” Kamiyu thought swiftly.

“Hahaha, then I won’t hold back.”

“Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang.” Seizing the 6-second buff from Headshot Strike that tripled her lethality, she fired wildly.

The northern battlefield was immediately filled with flashes of lightning and rumbles of thunder.

“I’ll kill them in an instant, I’ll kill them sideways, I’ll kill them vertically, I’ll keep on killing.” Kamiyu didn’t even need to aim, emptying her bullets and then placing them in Storage only to take them out again, exploiting the Magazine Bug to reload instantly, achieving a frenzied effect of 20 shots in 6 seconds.

Using the Anti-Materiel Sniper Rifle as if it were a Machine Gun.

Kamiyu couldn’t help but hum a little tune: “Pack up, pack up, pack up your bags.”
