Chapter 36: The Final Gamble

Chapter 36: The Final Gamble

The Ancestral Legendary Tier equipment 【Razor Armor】 worn by Bai Zhan caused immense trouble for Kamiyu and the other three. Its inherent constant Damage Reflect effect brought their offensive to a halt.

Only Jack, who possessed the Steel Fortress Talent, dared to be the first to test the waters.

Unfortunately, even Jack, with his formidable defensive capabilities, had his Defense broken by the Razor Armor’s Damage Reflect, causing him to bleed profusely on the spot.

At this moment, Brother Dong was terrified by this desperate situation. He threw down the Katana in his hand, knelt on the ground, weeping and sobbing, muttering something inaudible under his breath.

Zhong Hao’s face was ashen, the sense of despair in his heart equally unshakable. Were they truly heading toward the first future outcome?

Would the worldline really converge? Even if they dodged the first day of the lunar month, they couldn’t escape the fifteenth. Damn it, they were bound to die, unable to survive by hiding, unable to escape fate’s grasp.

However, a hundred meters away, there was still one person unwilling to bow or yield to this desperate situation, unwilling to submit to fate.

Kamiyu was desperately thinking, pondering a way to break the deadlock.

“【Razor Armor】 can reflect 100% of the Damage back onto the attacker. Whoever attacks will get hurt.

Whoever delivers the Lethal blow to Bai Zhan—forget whether it can Break Defense or not—the first to die will definitely be themselves.”

“Even Jack, with his defensive Talent, is like that.

Just now, no matter how we attacked from above, we couldn’t Break Jack’s Defense, but the moment Jack kicked him, he suffered severe injuries.”

“Wait a minute.”

“Earlier, through the Scope, I didn’t see Jack’s mouth move. He didn’t use any Skill just now; he relied purely on his defensive Talent to strike Bai Zhan.”

Jack’s defensive Talent had a weakness: his Defense Power was relatively weaker at close range.

That’s why the Razor Armor’s Damage Reflect was able to Break his Defense.

So, what if he attacked from a distance? What if he used his gun to shoot Bai Zhan? Could that Break the Razor Armor’s Defense?

Any Armor has Durability. Even with Thorns Armor, while it Feedback Damage to the attacker is one thing;

its Durability decreases with each attack it withstands—that’s another matter.

Kamiyu first thought of this method: having Jack use long-range attacks to break the deadlock.

But that wasn’t all. Jack hadn’t used a single Skill earlier. He still hadn’t used 【Thorns Reflection】 or 【Golden Body】.

Jack also had an even stronger Skill, 【Attack-Defense Conversion】, whose effect was to convert his Attack Power into an equal amount of Defense Power.

A vague plan began to form in Kamiyu’s mind. She didn’t know if it would succeed, but if it did, this plan might very well break the deadlock and eliminate Bai Zhan in one go.

However, she couldn’t openly reveal this final trump card. She needed to lure the opponent step by step into a Trap.

So, Kamiyu immediately shouted, “Jack, come here, shoot him with a gun.”

Bai Zhan stood still, as if waiting to watch a good show.

Jack turned and ran to Kamiyu’s side without hesitation.

“What gun do you want? Can you use it?” Kamiyu asked.

Fortunately, she had previously raided the Gangster gathering point and cleaned out their entire armory.

“Do you have an M60?” Jack asked in a low, muffled voice.

He was a Mercenary; he could use all kinds of Weapons and was adept at all sorts of unconventional tactics on the Battlefield.

“Damn, weren’t you following me all along? Where would gangsters get weapons like that? They’re not arms smugglers,” Kamiyu said helplessly.

“An AK, just any AK that can fire will do,” Jack said.

“Here.” Kamiyu tossed Jack a heavy assault rifle with both hands.

Jack caught it with one hand.

“And magazines.”

Jack “stored” six fully loaded magazines into his Player character’s backpack.

“By the way, where’s your exclusive weapon?” Kamiyu couldn’t help probing.

After killing Bai Zhan, Jack would be her strongest opponent among the remaining Players.

“The Black Sphere didn’t give me one,” Jack pulled out a magazine, “click-clacking” it twice as he checked the cleanliness inside the receiver.

His movements were far more skilled than Kamiyu’s—unsurprising for someone who had been on the battlefield. His actions made Kamiyu’s eyes light up.

“I guess I don’t need to teach you how to use this,” she said.

“At this distance, if you shoot him with the rifle, are you confident you can defend against it?” Kamiyu asked.

“No problem.”

“Good. I’ll add a special bullet for you on the third shot. The first two will be Common Bullets, and the third will be a special one. The explosion effect is a bit big, so handle it carefully.”

So it turned out that Kamiyu’s Magic Bullets could still be used even after the weapon left her “hands.”

In other words, besides herself, teammates and others could also use her Magic Bullets.

If she survived this, she could wholesale her Magic Bullets to earn money, items, and equipment.

Jack’s eyes lit up, and he thought with surprise, I never expected she had this trick up her sleeve.

When she stabbed herself with the knife on the rooftop earlier, she was definitely just playing around.

Kamiyu thought, This isn’t enough. To kill Bai Zhan, having Jack act as my gun is far from sufficient. I still need others to cooperate.

“Hey, that crybaby, stop kneeling and get over here quickly,” Kamiyu shouted.

Brother Dong remained motionless, as if he hadn’t heard.

Zhong Hao cursed under his breath, “What a useless waste.”

He risked running to Bai Zhan’s side, forcibly dragged Brother Dong, and ran toward Kamiyu.

Bai Zhan even sheathed his Dragon Slayer Blade, sneering, “I’ll just stand here wearing my Razor Armor and let you shoot. I can kill you all even while standing still. Do whatever you want, you bunch of clowns.”

Xu Liwen frowned and said, “Bai Zhan is too arrogant. Even though I’ve only known Kamiyu for less than two or three hours, experience tells me there must be a trick here.”

“Never underestimate someone with an extremely strong will to survive.”

Zhong Hao dragged Brother Dong over to Kamiyu’s side, pulling and tugging along the way.

Seeing him completely demoralized, like a pile of mud, Kamiyu kicked him and said, “If you keep this up, I’d rather shoot you dead to exchange for enhanced Strength.”

“Can your Talent Skill ability Sacrifice to reduce Cooldown Time or extend Skill duration for other Players, not for yourself, but designated for other Players?” Kamiyu asked seriously.

Brother Dong frowned tightly, unsure what Kamiyu was planning.

Kamiyu slapped him and urged, “Stop dawdling. Can you or can’t you? Give me an answer quickly. We’re in a life-or-death situation right now.”

Zhong Hao blinked and pleaded, “Just tell her. Right now, only her strategy can save us.”

Brother Dong thought for a moment, hesitating for quite a while.

Even Bai Zhan mocked, “Are you done yet? I’m tired from standing. I want to finish this quickly and go back to sleep.”

Brother Dong took a deep breath and said, “Both are possible, but the cost of my Sacrifice will be a bit high.”

“Then extend the Skill duration temporarily. That’s enough—no need for it to be permanent.”

Zhong Hao suddenly realized what Kamiyu intended to do and exclaimed excitedly, “Hurry and perform the Sacrifice. We have a chance to win.”
