Chapter 6: Hunted
Chapter 6: Hunted
Kamiyu remembered all the Talents of these ten people. The Talents given by the Black Sphere this time were all extremely exaggerated—her Enhancement was just a minor, insignificant Talent.
The gloomy suited man who had led earlier possessed the Future Prediction Talent, capable of foreseeing events within the next five seconds.
If she managed to survive until the end, she had no idea how she would fight against the gloomy man.
As for the Mohawk before her, his Mimicry Talent was a Jack-of-All-Trades Talent. Combined with his Skill, it allowed him to transform his body into any imagined object.
“Bang, bang, bang.” Without hesitation, Kamiyu fired a Three-Round Burst at Mohawk.
Each shot aimed for a Headshot.
The bullets sank into his head, but unlike normal, no Blood Mist erupted.
“Hehe, so impatient, little girl.” Mohawk stood in place as if nothing had happened.
Kamiyu furrowed her brows. Unkillable? How was this possible?
“Hehe, seeing how surprised you look, I’ll kindly tell you. I keep my body in a liquid state at all times. Your bullets can’t destroy me, gun-toting girl.”
Mohawk’s head began to “writhe,” his Skin constantly shifting.
His mouth chewed, then extended three tongues, each tip coiling around a yellow bullet.
“Hehehe, I can grow three tongues. Impressive, right?” Mohawk leered at Kamiyu’s crotch.
“Go to hell.” Kamiyu swapped out her weapon from Storage, pulling out a Shotgun.
“Boom, boom, boom, boom.” She refused to believe even fragments couldn’t kill Mohawk.
“Useless. Just lie down obediently.”
A few “beep, beep, beep” sounds.
A round Hand Grenade was thrown at Mohawk’s feet.
With a deafening “boom,”
Mohawk was engulfed in a sea of flames, the surrounding glass shattering from the blast.
Kamiyu dropped a Smoke Grenade and instantly turned to Flee.
She couldn’t win, truly couldn’t win. Damn it, he was practically like a Terminator. She’d run first and figure something out later. Kamiyu fled desperately.
As the white smoke cleared, a charred man walked out of the fiery blaze.
In an instant, he returned to his original form, though now completely naked.
“Hehehehe, you can’t escape, Little Red Riding Hood.”
“I smell your excitement. You were actually having fun just now, weren’t you?” Mohawk’s nose transformed into a dog’s nose.
It turned out that back in the small room with the Black Sphere, Mohawk had used his Mimicry Skill to memorize Kamiyu’s scent with his dog nose, completely locking onto her.
Coupled with the Black Sphere’s twisted sense of humor, which teleported him and Kamiyu to nearby locations, Mohawk had easily found Kamiyu’s position and had been tailing her ever since.
This was Kamiyu’s oversight. Aside from those four rookies including Huang Kun, all eight people Summoned by the Black Sphere were formidable characters.
Mohawk closed his eyes. In his mind, Kamiyu’s scent vividly appeared, allowing him to trace her escape route.
Just as he was about to set off in pursuit of Kamiyu,
“Halt, drop your Weapon.” A patrol officer aimed his gun at Mohawk.
“Weapon?” Mohawk looked at his hands and found his left hand had transformed into a large Cleaver, his right into a massive scythe.
“Hahahaha, even my Passive Skill got triggered. You really are something, Little Red Riding Hood.” Mohawk sneered.
It turned out that with the earlier Hand Grenade, Kamiyu had used her Skill 【Headshot Strike】. The bonus Damage from Headshot Strike was three times the Normal Damage.
Transforming the normal damage of a hand grenade into three times the damage of a skill.
This isn’t three grenades exploding together; it’s three times the damage of a single grenade explosion—three times the explosive yield.
She imagined herself as a firearm, forcibly changing the concept of “throwing” into “shooting.”
Unfortunately, Kamiyu ran too fast to know whether her validation was correct, nor did she know that Mohawk had a passive skill where, after dealing true damage, his hands would automatically transform into sharp blades.
“Drop your weapon,” the patrol officer prepared to fire.
“Swish.”
Mohawk stood still, his left hand turning into a tentacle, the large cleaver attached to it whipping down like a lash, slicing the patrol officer and the patrol car in half from top to bottom.
Pedestrians on the street screamed in panic as the sound of police sirens grew louder and closer from all around.
“Hehehehe.”
“This game is so much fun.”
Meanwhile.
Kamiyu ran to another block.
She walked into a clothing store, casually picked out a brown coat and a furry hat, and without even asking the price, tossed a stack of cash to the clerk.
She changed her outfit, put on the black furry hat, and wrapped up her eye-catching pink hair.
Now, no one should recognize her.
Kamiyu didn’t know that she wasn’t being identified by her appearance—she was being tracked by her scent.
Explosions and gunfire continued to echo from the neighboring block.
The blaring of police sirens and the whirring of helicopter propellers filled the air.
Kamiyu saw black armored police vehicles speeding toward the previous location, while helicopters circled overhead.
Was this monster being held back by the special police?
Kamiyu thought with relief. This was the real Dragon Roar City, where every move the Players made would affect reality, and excessive actions would draw the attention of the violent mechanisms.
This Mohawk was truly digging his own grave.
However, the next moment, Kamiyu froze in disbelief.
“No way, is this even possible?” she gasped in shock, swallowing hard.
Mohawk transformed into a terrifying monster. He truly became a Terminator, with no part of his body remaining normal. A large bloody hole gaped in his stomach, and the blades on his hands were skewering several corpses wearing bulletproof vests.
“Where are you running to, Little Red Riding Hood?” Mohawk’s voice grew even more terrifying and hoarse.
Even from a distance, it sent shivers down Kamiyu’s spine.
Impossible. This must be a skill effect. Skills all have durations and cooldown times. As long as she figured out these two timings, she could turn the tables.
While turning to flee, Kamiyu glanced back from time to time to observe Mohawk.
She ran and ran, then leaped down the subway stairs, jumping step by step toward the lowest level.
Kamiyu vaulted over the turnstile railing and continued jumping down the stairs.
“Wait, miss, you need to go through security,” the subway security officer shouted.
“Run!” she warned kindly.
“Reporting to headquarters, a woman bypassed security and boarded at XX Station.”
“Swish, swish, swish, swish.” Mohawk sliced the four security officers and any pedestrians in his way into pieces.
“Ahhh!” Nearby pedestrians screamed and fled in panic.
At the lowest level.
The tracks were empty; the train hadn’t arrived yet.
“The train will arrive in one minute. Please wait behind the yellow line,” the broadcast announced.
Damn, how much longer is this going to take? Kamiyu felt that this one minute was the longest minute of her life.
She turned her head to stare at the staircase, holding the shotgun with both hands, aiming steadily.
“Hey, put down your weapon,” the train officer shouted at Kamiyu after hearing the commotion upstairs and the radio chatter.
“Run if you don’t want to die,” Kamiyu maintained her gun-holding posture.
Her Skill was still on Cooldown Time, with two minutes remaining.
Cold sweat dripped from Kamiyu’s forehead, and her palms were soaked.
“Hehe, Little Red Riding Hood, you can’t escape,” Mohawk threw several dismembered limbs down the stairs.
The severed limbs tumbled down the staircase.
Everyone around fled in terror.
