Chapter 7: Flying Station
Chapter 7: Flying Station
The lowest level of the subway station.
“Ding-dong, ding-dong. The train will arrive in one minute. Please wait behind the yellow line,” the broadcast announced.
Kamiyu tightened her grip on the shotgun. The Interface Panel showed that the Headshot Strike Skill, which had a triple damage multiplier, still had over two minutes of Cooldown Time remaining.
“Damn it, the train hasn’t arrived yet, and the Skill’s Cooldown isn’t up. No choice—I’ll have to risk it.” Kamiyu clenched her gun, her fingers lightly pressing against the trigger, ready to fire at any moment.
Her heart pounded violently. The enemy was too powerful, even more exaggerated than a Terminator. Its hand, transformed into a sharp blade, was skewering five or six corpses—it was like a hybrid of a parasite and a Terminator.
“Hey, put the gun down now!” The transit police officer, having heard the earlier radio communication and the commotion upstairs, assumed Kamiyu was a terrorist.
Kamiyu had no time to deal with ordinary people. Her eyes were fixed on the only staircase leading down to this level—the monster could only come from there.
“If you don’t want to die, get out of here now,” Kamiyu whispered without turning her head.
She positioned herself in a dead corner, not wanting to expose her location.
Every second of delay meant another chance for her to escape.
Just as the transit officer was about to take further action and call for backup, a pile of dismembered limbs and body parts tumbled down the staircase.
The surrounding crowd screamed and fled in panic. The transit officer, witnessing the gruesome scene, couldn’t hold back and vomited.
Kamiyu watched as blood and multicolored internal organs flowed continuously down the stairs. Even from a distance, she could smell the metallic scent of blood and the warm, foul stench of fresh organs.
“Little Red Riding Hood, I found you~” Mohawk drawled, deliberately using a terrifying tone.
Kamiyu counted down the train’s arrival time in her mind. No good—still 40 seconds left.
“Bang, bang, bang, bang.” She fired directly.
“You can’t escape.” Mohawk transformed into a monster. His two arms elongated like tentacles, and his palms turned into sharp blades. Any passerby touched by the blades was instantly reduced to pieces.
“Hahahahaha, such incredible Strength! I love this game!” Mohawk shouted maniacally while slaughtering the bystanders blocking his path.
“Bang, bang, bang.” Kamiyu reloaded and continued shooting.
Kamiyu furrowed her brows. The train was about to arrive, but she couldn’t hear the sound of brakes. She roared inwardly, “Dammit, did the driver hear the station’s message and decide to fly through without stopping?”
Kamiyu guessed correctly. The station manager on the ground level had pressed the emergency response button, instructing the train drivers not to stop and to fly through the station instead.
“Stop the train! Let the passengers board!” The transit officer pulled a little girl behind him, switched his walkie-talkie to the emergency all-channel communication mode, and shouted at the driver.
“Where do you think you’re going? I’m having so much fun killing! I’ll slaughter everyone here first, then we can bathe together in a river of blood. How does that sound? Hahahahaha!” Mohawk blocked the only staircase.
“Gyaaah!”
“Waaah!”
“Swish, swish.”
“Bang, bang, bang.”
The cries of the bystanders, the swishing sounds of Mohawk’s monster blades, and Kamiyu’s gunshots all blended together.
The only sound missing was the screech of brakes.
“I order you in the name of the people’s lives to stop the train immediately!” the train police shouted loudly.
But.
The train did not slow down or stop; instead, it accelerated and roared past.
The bystanders fell into despair, some kneeling on the ground like lambs awaiting slaughter.
“Help me.” “Save me.” “Gwaah.” “I have elders and children at home, please don’t kill me.”
People in the subway station were being slaughtered by the monster.
“How could this happen?” The train police despairingly lowered the walkie-talkie in his hand.
The more you do, the more mistakes you make; the less you do, the fewer mistakes; doing nothing means no mistakes.
The train conductor perfectly executed the emergency plan, directly saving everyone on the train.
But indirectly causing the death of everyone in the subway station.
Kamiyu emptied the shotgun shells and did not reload.
Her heart was filled with the fury of betrayal.
To hell with rules and regulations, forget all that talk of righteousness—she wanted to survive, just like the others trapped in the subway station.
Her heart burned with intense rage—anger at Mohawk’s violence, anger at her own helplessness, anger at the inhumane rules and regulations.
She would use her guns to shatter it all, to carve a path to survival with her own strength.
Kamiyu holstered the shotgun and quickly drew two pistols, one aimed at Mohawk’s head, the other at the barrier door behind the bystanders.
“Bang, bang, bang, bang.”
She could multitask, operating both hands simultaneously.
Mohawk’s advance was halted by the bullets. His Talent was Mimicry, not immortality—injuries required Skills to repair himself. Kamiyu roughly knew the Cooldown Time for him to reuse his Mimicry Skill.
She timed her actions precisely around this window.
The tempered glass barrier doors behind the bystanders shattered one after another. Kamiyu had created an escape route for them and herself.
The train police looked at Kamiyu with a complex expression, shouted a word of thanks to her, then called out to everyone, “Everyone, jump onto the tracks! Don’t be afraid—there’s a backup platform ahead if you keep moving.”
“Don’t even think about leaving. I’ll kill all of you…”
“Bang.” Kamiyu had already figured out the Cooldown Time of his Talent—one second.
She seized the moment his Talent was on Cooldown and shot him in the head.
Mohawk’s forward motion with the Throwing Knife came to a halt.
Mohawk’s Mimicry Talent allowed him to mimic imagined objects. He had transformed his body structure into that of the Villain Liquid Metal Robot from Terminator 2.
This Talent was incredibly Perverted—a permanent Skill with no Cooldown Time.
Mohawk had turned this Mimicry Talent into a pseudo-“immortality” Talent.
But if it were truly immortality, the Black Sphere wouldn’t have set these game rules. So Kamiyu believed his ability only achieved a false immortality.
In other words, as long as she found the flaw, she could eliminate this monster.
And Kamiyu had already grasped the key—the Talent’s Cooldown Time, about one second, with a duration of around thirty seconds.
Every thirty seconds, the Mimicry would stop. During the brief interval between the 29th and 30th seconds, if injured, he would pause.
Put simply and vaguely, if Mohawk’s Mimicry Talent allowed him to mimic an Invincible object:
0–29 seconds was the Invincibility Window, 29–30 seconds was the vulnerable period, and 30–59 seconds was another Invincibility Window.
And so the cycle repeated.
That’s easy. Just spray him with a machine gun. Have dozens of people surround him and keep shooting for a full minute—let’s see if he still doesn’t die.
But this bastard, right before his Mimicry wears off and disappears, uses his Executioner’s special Skill, “Life for Life”—killing one person to gain an extra life.
This is also why Mohawk fights so fiercely.
Every time Kamiyu is about to deplete his lives, he goes on a killing spree to replenish them.
Kamiyu doesn’t know any of this information. Mohawk lied about his Skill back in the Black Sphere Room.
