Chapter 7: Days of Potion Making
Chapter 7: Days of Potion Making
Original: Chapter 7: Days of Potion Making
I’ve been coming to the Dungeon every day to make Potions.
Making Potions gives you Experience Points, so my Level goes up easily. And I’ve been using all the Skill Points I earn to level up my 〈Potion Create〉 Skill.
Right now, my Level is 10, and my 〈Potion Create〉 Skill Level is 6. Lately, it feels like my Skill Level doesn’t go up together with my Level anymore.
So, I decided to consult Miss Rilril, one of the Dungeonfolk, about it.
“In cases like that, I’d recommend taking on Quests,” Miss Rilril suggested, sitting behind her Street Stall in the Plaza.
Miss Rilril always does business with Earthlings at the edge of the Plaza. By the way, her merchandise consists of various kinds of Items and Weapons used in the Dungeon. They’re neatly arranged on a cloth spread out on the ground.
“Quests? What are those?”
“Quests are tasks that the Dungeon God asks Adventurers to complete,” Miss Rilril explained, gesturing toward the far end of the Plaza’s center. My gaze naturally followed her hand. That’s where a lot of people are gathered.
“Over there, near the wall at the far end of the center, you can see Tablets popping up from the ground, right?”
“The ones everyone’s looking at, yeah.”
All sorts of people are gathered there, chattering excitedly as they look at the Tablets. I’d been wondering what those were.
“That’s right. What’s written on those Tablets are the Quests. By completing what’s written there, you can earn Rewards.”
“Do those Rewards include Skill Points?”
“Yes. Some Quests give Skill Points. Though, most of them are combat-related Quests.”
“Then maybe it’s impossible for me…”
“Not at all. Miss Sayuki, you’re already Level 10, so you’re quite strong, you know?”
“Really?”
“Yes. Among the people who started their Dungeon adventures around the same time as you, there shouldn’t be anyone else who’s already Level 10. You’ve been leveling up more efficiently than anyone else.”
I had no idea.
“Well, maybe I’ll give it a try then.”
“Though, being a girl, I’m sure you might feel a bit uneasy. So, as a parting gift from an adult like me, I’ll give you one of these Weapons. They’re leftovers, but they’re still good. Miss Sayuki, which one would you like?”
“Huh, you’re giving it to me?”
Miss Rilril nodded. She really seemed to be giving me a Weapon.
In Miss Rilril’s hands were a large Sword that looked like something a Westerner might use and a metal Hammer with a very long handle.
Normally, I’d probably go for the Sword, but I chose the Hammer instead.
“Is this one okay?”
“Yes, that’s fine. I thought you’d choose the Sword right away. I’m a little surprised.”
“Bladed weapons are a bit…”
“I see. You have a gentle personality, after all.”
“Is the Hammer weaker, then?”
“No, despite how it looks, its Attack Power is the same as this Sword. If you consider durability, this Hammer is actually higher.”
Miss Rilril handed me the Hammer. I gratefully accepted it.
“Thank you.”
“Not at all, you’re welcome.”
“I’ll come sell Potions again as soon as I make more.”
“I’ll look forward to it. Oh, if you get any rare Materials from Quests, I’ll buy them from you.”
“Ah… Dismantling might be a bit impossible for me…”
“That’s normal… Maybe someday you could try acquiring a Dismantle Skill.”
“I’ll consider it once I’ve mastered 〈Potion Create〉.”
“I’ll look forward to it. Well then, I wish you the best of luck, Miss Sayuki.”
After thanking her once more, I waved and left the Street Stall.
I put the Hammer in my backpack. But it was too long to fit completely, so it stuck out diagonally. From the front, I probably looked like a hero carrying a Sword on their back.
“I feel a little stronger now. Hehe…”
Feeling happy, I headed toward the Tablets at the far end of the Plaza’s center.
