Chapter 71: Sayuki’s Potion and Status

Chapter 71: Sayuki's Potion and Status

Original: Chapter 71: Sayuki’s Potion and Status

I went to Miss Marta’s street stall and picked up my school uniform. Everything, including the underwear, had been mended to look like brand new. As always, her work was perfect and I was impressed.

I immediately took off my tracksuit and put on the school uniform blazer. Then I was about to put the tracksuit into my shark backpack—but on Senior Himeka’s advice, I decided to store it in my item space instead. Apparently, it would be a big problem if my backpack got burned up or something. That made sense, I thought.

Next, I came to Miss Rilril’s street stall.

“Miss Rilril, hello!”

“Hello! Oh? You have a pretty friend with you today.”

Miss Rilril looked happy. She seemed pleased that I was with someone.

“She’s not a friend, she’s my senior from school.”

“Ah—I feel a bit of distance now. Little Sayuki, we’re in a relationship where we’ve shared an intense kiss, right?”

I ended up blushing, remembering the kiss with Miss Himeka.

“Huh? Huh? Oh, oh, are you two in that kind of relationship?”

Miss Rilril put both hands on her cheeks, looking embarrassed.

I didn’t want her to misunderstand, so I explained what happened yesterday as politely as I could.

“I see. Miss Sayuki, that was a wonderful thing you did.”

“No, I just did what anyone would do.”

“That ‘what anyone would do’ is exactly what becomes impossible in a place like the Dungeon.”

“Yeah, that’s right, Little Sayuki. When people come to the Dungeon, they become fifty percent worse. If someone other than you had found me… I’m sure I would have died.”

That’s why I’m truly grateful, Miss Himeka said.

I was glad it was me who found Miss Himeka. Because Miss Himeka is a good person. It would have been too sad for such a good person to die in the Dungeon without anyone taking care of her.

We had already started talking, but I formally introduced Miss Himeka to Miss Rilril. Unlike me, both of them have high communication skills, so they hit it off right away.

Now that the greetings were over, I decided to get down to business as usual.

“Miss Rilril, I’d like to sell some Potions again today—”

“Thank you as always.”

“Huh? Sayuki, you sell Potions? Do you have a Create-type Skill?”

“Yes. It was my Initial Skill. I make Potions with that Skill and sell them to my business partner, Miss Rilril.”

“Do Potions make good money? The unit price seems pretty low.”

“They bring in quite a bit of money.”

I made a slightly smug face.

“Miss Rilril, I’d like to sell two this time.”

“Alright, two Potions for 980 Pon.”

Both Miss Rilril and I tapped on our screens.

The transaction was completed, and all the Potions in my bottles teleported into the bottles Miss Rilril was holding. Then my bottles turned back into clean empty bottles.

Miss Himeka seemed a little surprised.

“Huh? Huh? Huh? So the selling price for one Potion is about 500 Pon?”

“Exactly.”

“Do Potions that expensive even exist? Um, Miss Rilril. Could I see the Potion’s performance?”

“Of course. Miss Sayuki’s Potions are amazing.”

Miss Rilril handed a bottle containing a Potion to Miss Himeka. Doing so seemed to let her see its performance. Miss Himeka’s expression changed to one of shock.

“Th-the Recovery Amount is 250—————? Potions with this high of a Recovery Amount exist? This performance makes even the supposedly higher-tier Super Potion look inferior!”

“Right? Amazing, isn’t it?”

“It’s too amazing!”

“The lower limit for a Super Potion’s Recovery Amount is 150, you know. Miss Sayuki’s Potions have already far surpassed that.”

“It’s truly incredible. Miss Rilril, could I buy both of those Potions?”

“The selling price would be 690 Pon each, is that alright?”

“Of course. That’s super cheap. A Super Potion would cost at least 1000 Pon, wouldn’t it?”

“Super Potions require a lot of effort to make, so the price inevitably goes up.”

“That’s true. Miss Rilril, you’re running a good business.”

“Ehehe, it’s all thanks to Miss Sayuki working hard.”

“Sayuki, you’re something else. As expected of my Prince. People who can make profitable products are really cool.”

Somehow, I got praised.

The Potion-making I’d been doing for pocket money had, without me realizing, become something worthy of others’ praise. I felt a little proud, and I was genuinely happy.

Miss Himeka purchased the Potions. She looked happy. Miss Rilril looked happy too.

“Miss Senior, thank you for your purchase.”

“No, no, thank you.”

“Are you two going on a Quest now?”

“That’s my plan—Little Sayuki, is a Red Zone Quest okay?”

Miss Himeka watched for my reaction.

“I’d like to gather some materials for Potions if possible. It can be while we’re on the Quest, but I need Medicinal Herbs and Mana Gemstones. You can’t get those in the Red Zone, right?”

“Huh? You can get both in the Red Zone?”

“Eh? Really?”

“Yep, I’ll help you look for them.”

So that’s how it was. Come to think of it, until now I’d been too focused on life-or-death adventures to properly explore the Red Zone. If I can get Medicinal Herbs and Mana Gemstones in the Red Zone, that would make me really happy.

“Then it’s decided, we’re going on a Red Zone Quest~. Oh, but I’ll adjust to your Level, okay? You’re around Level 20 now?”

“Huh? No, more like—”

“Wait, hold on. When you saved me, you were adventuring solo in the Red Zone. Maybe you’re close to Level 30?”

“Miss Senior, you shouldn’t lump Miss Sayuki in with the average Rookie Adventurer.”

“Huh…? Is she strong?”

I displayed my Status Screen in front of me. When I showed it to Miss Himeka, her eyes went wide.

“Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?! Level 49! Sayuki, you’re a first-year, right?! The other kids are still in single digits or barely breaking into double digits! Did you start coming here back in middle school?”

“No, since this spring. It’s just that 〈Potion Create〉 is excellent.”

“Ah, you’re right. Your 〈Potion Create〉 Skill Level is high. You even have 〈Adversity Enhancement〉. That’s a Skill you can’t get without investing a ton of Skill Points, right?”

“I defeated a Raging Orc. When my Level was way below the Recommended Conquest Level, I pulled off a huge comeback victory from a Near-Death State. That seemed to be the acquisition condition for the Skill.”

“Whooooooooooooooooooa! A Raging Orc! That Monster is famous as the Red Zone’s Beginner Killer. Even a group of hardcore second-year players would definitely have someone get seriously injured fighting it.”

“Somehow… I won… Ahaha…”

“That’s way too cool, Sayuki. This makes me even more excited to go on a Quest with you.”Somehow, Miss Himeka ended up praising me a whole lot. Since I’m not really used to being praised by people, I honestly felt happy about it.

After that, we had a proper discussion about what kind of quest to choose. We decided that if there was a quest around the middle of our two levels, we’d go with that.

After telling Miss Rilril “we’re heading out,” Miss Himeka and I made our way toward the back of the plaza’s center. I’m looking forward to seeing what kind of quest awaits us.

Oh, right—I also got to properly see Miss Himeka’s Status.

Miss Himeka was a 〈Poison Master〉 who manipulates poison. She was incredibly strong. I still feel like I’m nowhere near her level. So I have to make sure I don’t hold her back.

Steeling myself, I walked over to the Quest Tablet.
