Chapter 43

The summoned creature before Jaeha, startled by the sudden summoning, began thrashing dozens of tentacles around.

“Uh……?”

Flustered that something so different from what he’d imagined had been summoned, Jaeha swallowed and stared at the creature. The summon looked around, then, as if spotting Jaeha, shot a tentacle toward him.

Seeing the tentacle flying at him, Jaeha immediately dismissed the summon.

Fwoosh—

“Phew.”

As the summoned being vanished, Jaeha let out a deep sigh. Then he looked around.

“Wow, so monsters like that exist too.”

Having experienced something unexpected, Jaeha thought for a moment.

‘Going completely random is too risky.’

Then he pondered briefly.

‘What should I summon?’

Jaeha, arms crossed in thought, suddenly seemed to remember something and used summoning magic. As the same window as before appeared, he began to visualize.

Before long, recognition was established, and a being materialized alongside a magic circle.

Its pure white wings were like those of an angel. Its perfectly straight horn and slender body were, quite literally, beautiful.

“Wow. Unicorns really exist.”

Jaeha gazed at the unicorn as he spoke.

The unicorn, startled by its sudden summoning, looked around. Soon spotting Jaeha, it approached him. Then it examined him from all sides. Jaeha stroked the unicorn’s head, and the unicorn didn’t resist in the least.

After spending time fiddling with the unicorn’s head and wings, Jaeha dismissed it back.

‘That was fun. Should I try something else?’

With that thought, Jaeha fell into contemplation. Then his eyes lit up, and he immediately used summoning magic. As he pictured an image after casting, a being began to materialize with a soft sound.

Watching it quietly, Jaeha’s eyes went wide.

“Wow, so this actually exists for real.”

Whether it heard Jaeha’s muttering or not, the summoned being calmly looked around. Then, looking down at Jaeha, it asked.

<Who are you?>

“Hm, my name is Na Jaeha.”

<You summoned me?>

“That’s right.”

<Mmm. Jaehaa.>

At that moment, the spirits that had been fluttering around flew over to Jaeha.

“What’s wrong?”

<We’re scared.>

<That one’s weird.>

At the spirits’ reaction, Jaeha patted their heads and then looked at the massive being before him.

<Spirits, are they. They must be sensing my presence. Somewhat peculiar spirits, indeed. They look similar to low-rank spirits, but the power they hold is at least high-rank or above.>

Watching the being mutter to itself, Jaeha spoke up.

“I introduced myself, so how about you introduce yourself too?”

<Hmph. Very well.>

The being let out a small laugh and began explaining about itself.

<My name is Gersia. I am the gold dragon who has served as the 449th Dragon Lord.>

As he said this, he spread his wings wide.
