Chapter 55 – Bordo-san’s Shop
Chapter 55 – Bordo-san's Shop
“Bring out Bordo!”
The owners of major stores were swarming the shop, making it impossible to do any real business today.
“Please head to the largest conference room on the third floor.”
Hmph. How many is this now?
They had the nerve to judge Lady Marie by her clothes alone and chase her away.
Even though I was wearing commoner garb, her pristine white skin, perfectly groomed hair, and impeccable posture gave her away in an instant.
I knew right off the bat she was no ordinary customer to turn away.
And her speech was straight out of high nobility too. I hurriedly offered her water and dropped to my knees.
Bordo-san praised me to high heaven for it later.
He even personally escorted her all the way to the church himself—proof she was special from the very start.
Who would’ve thought she was the Saintess…
Now she gets all her casual clothes, shoes, and daily necessities from our store.
Once word gets out, requests for the same items are gonna flood in.
Haha. She said she was thrilled to receive that First Heal from me.
Even though it was so long ago, she remembered it.
Back then, I thought even for Lady Marie, using First Heal on a Black Priest was overkill.
Bordo-san’s eye for people really is something else.
I need to study up more myself.
A man furrowing his brow between his eyes entered once again.
Sigh.
“Where’s Bordo?”
“Please head to the largest conference room on the third floor.”
One after another… this is ridiculous.
Maybe I should go swap out the tea in the conference rooms soon.
“That’s why we’re telling you to introduce us!”
“We won’t let you hog her all to yourself!”
“Just let us meet her for a bit!”
Oh man, it’s gotten bad.
I could hear them clearly even from midway up the stairs.
I get they’re desperate to cozy up to the Saintess and all.
But come on, have a little decorum.
“Damn it! That kid from the church of all people?!”
“Don’t talk about having no eye for talent—you especially!”
“I’ve already gotten her on my side from the back door!”
Whoa, now the big store owners are picking fights with each other.
Probably best to clear out the tea.
“Bordo, you knew and kept it hidden from us, right?”
“No way! I’m just as in the dark as everyone else.”
Siiiigh. I’ve seen that exchange a hundred times already.
How many times since morning do you think? Better head back downstairs quick.
Poor Bordo-san… Glancing his way, our eyes met, and he flashed a sly grin.
No, stop.
Suddenly, Bordo-san stood up and clapped his hands loudly—clap! clap!
“Lady Saintess’s exclusive attendant has been Coden here for the past ten years. If you need to speak with her, select just one of you to go with him. From now on, negotiate directly with him.”
Everyone turned to stare at me in unison.
Hey, wait—!!! Bordo-saaan!!!
After that, I got roughed up by all the shop owners but somehow managed to put together a priority list.
Bordo-san praised me with a “Well done, Coden,” but my clothes were in tatters, and my feelings were all mixed up.
Still, he officially appointed me as the Saintess’s dedicated attendant. Haha.
“Yes! My first exclusive client!”
I was so thrilled I jumped for joy all by myself over and over.
Mom, I did it—I became the Saintess’s exclusive attendant!
