Chapter 150 – The End of Tisha Xia’er
Chapter 150 – The End of Tisha Xia'er
Punk’s plan was technically sound. Tisha Xia’er was firmly restrained by Bahanger, and if she had any hidden tricks, she would have used them by now. Her futile struggles only proved she had exhausted all options.
Punk’s strategy was flawless—launch a surprise attack from behind Tisha Xia’er, hit her head directly with “Inflict Greater Wound,” then use the dagger dropped by the High Priest—Sith’s Calm—to stab Bahanger to death. The remaining Kangkai would be no threat. Perfect plan.
Even with many uncertainties, Punk had no better choices. If this matter alerted the gods, it would no longer be an adventure but a near-certain death.
However, Punk overlooked one crucial point—Tisha Xia’er was a madwoman!
Just as Punk materialized behind Tisha Xia’er, unleashing the full energy of “Swiftness Spell” for a charge, Tisha Xia’er abruptly went berserk.
“You heretics! So what if you’ve destroyed my hopes? I’m doomed now, but none of you will escape! Die with me! AHAHAHAHA!”
Amid maniacal laughter, Tisha Xia’er’s body swelled violently, her distended belly inflating like a balloon.
“Damn it, damn it, damn it! This is bad, bad, bad!”
Punk never expected Tisha Xia’er to self-destruct so decisively—or that her final card would be self-annihilation!
Sensing the madly converging energy, Punk panicked and activated his last “Anywhere Door.”
“Hope it’s in time.”
This was Punk’s only thought as half his body crossed into the portal.
BOOM!
A deafening explosion erupted, unleashing endless light and heat. The terrifying shockwave formed a solid wall of force that expanded spherically. Kangkai had to enter his ethereal state again—his expression revealing this was his final use of the ability today.
As the blast roared, the entire stone chamber expanded from the violent compression. Extreme heat transformed the rocky walls into crystalline slurry, while the frenzied tremors triggered at least a magnitude-five earthquake across the Great Rift.
The self-destruction of a Formal-Level expert—truly terrifying!
“Cough… lungs destroyed?”
Punk collapsed in a distant corner from Tisha Xia’er. Though he’d activated “Anywhere Door” in time, half his body still caught the shockwave. This was his first severe injury: while his Master-level Robe remained intact, and “Chaos Cloak, Deflection Field, Greater Mage Armor” blocked the shrapnel, the horrific shockwave had crushed all muscles and bones in half his body.
“Careless… blinded by greed!”
Gushing blood, he reflected inwardly while rapidly constructing spell models. Injuries of this severity would kill any sub-Formal-Level creature dozens of times over, but to Punk, this was merely a serious wound. He was confident of full recovery within twelve arcane hours. However, he was unable to move for the next few minutes.
“Greed, greed—it devours reason, erodes caution, and guides one to death. The ancients truly did not deceive me. Yet if I encounter such a situation again, I’m afraid I’d still charge forward. After all, I am, in the end, a madman of the chaotic alignment!”
Punk gave a bitter smile as he used his remaining right hand to tear open the collar of his Mage Robe, reminding himself inwardly never to repeat the same mistake. Spitting out the remaining blood in his mouth, he couldn’t help but laugh at himself—he understood his own nature; the madness concealed beneath caution was the best description.
Now, the most urgent task was to restore his basic mobility. There was no other reason; it was mostly to guard against Kangkai. After such a round of self-destruction, Kangkai had become the one with the most intact combat capability. Of course, in Punk’s view, this was purely because that reckless fool Bahanger had taken on Kangkai’s share of the tanking duties.
Punk struggled to prop himself up, then reached into his shattered abdominal cavity, pulling out and discarding the organs, lung tissue, and even the heart that had turned into a pulpy mess. Only after removing all the internal organs did he begin to cast a spell.
Formal-Level Summoning Magic—Simulated Organs: Summon semi-energy-based internal organs (excluding the brain) that can last for twenty-four hours.
This spell was specifically designed for those needing emergency treatment for organ damage. However, the summoned organs could only serve as a temporary measure; prolonged use would disrupt the flow of life force.
Punk planned to rely on these “simulated organs” until he reached Doleiz City, after which he would extract life force from ordinary people to regrow new organs!
“At any rate, this counts as having dealt with Tisha Xia’er. However, I’ll have to find an opportunity to snatch my Legendary Equipment from Kangkai’s hands.”
Punk staggered to his feet. The first thing he saw was Kangkai using a Shortsword to slice open Tisha Xia’er’s abdomen, then retrieving that wooden box with a shocked expression before pocketing it.
Shaking his head helplessly, Punk wasn’t overly disappointed. Kangkai definitely lacked the ability to appraise Legendary Equipment. Most likely, he would choose to take the wooden box to the temple of Obe. However, there was no temple of Obe in Doleiz, so Punk only needed to strike before Kangkai left Doleiz City. There was no need to fight desperately while severely injured.
It had to be said, after experiencing Tisha Xia’er’s self-destruction, Punk had become even more cautious.
After storing the wooden box, Kangkai hurried over to examine a charred, blackened mass on the ground—oh, that seemed to be Bahanger’s “remains.”
And Punk hadn’t forgotten his loyal “teammate”—Golem One.
In truth, as he approached the pile of rocks where Golem One had collapsed, Punk was fully prepared for the worst. The golems he crafted weren’t particularly renowned for their defense, and after the erosion by the green mist and the devastation of Tisha Xia’er’s self-destruction, there probably wasn’t much left of it.
But Golem One surprisingly gave Punk a bit of a shock.
After using Mage Hand to clear away several large rocks covered in shredded flesh, Punk laid eyes on the pitiful state of Golem One.
This usually imposing hulk had lost most of its body. The remaining one-third of its upper torso was now just a skeleton riddled with cracks, and the modified soul within had long since vanished without a trace.Fortunately, its magical core remained eighty percent intact, which meant Golem One’s “Devouring Recovery” ability was still functional. Although it might need to devour tens of thousands of ordinary people to barely recover, this was still better than Punk building a new one from scratch, especially since Punk no longer had sufficient demon flesh.
“This counts as good news, though the soul inside will need replacing. Coincidentally, that little girl happens to be quite suitable.”
Punk shrugged casually, then used Mage Hand to lift the “pile” of shattered Golem One and strode briskly toward Kangkai. Even if he couldn’t obtain the Legendary Equipment for now, he certainly wouldn’t ignore Tisha Xia’er’s other spoils of war!
