Chapter 313 – The Gathering of Wind and Thunder Clouds

Chapter 313 – The Gathering of Wind and Thunder Clouds

“Oh, heavens… I mean, greetings, Lord Cyan.”

After Punk finished setting up the trap and emerged from the power core, he encountered Aidadada head-on, who was carrying a large bundle of maintenance tools toward the power core.

“Hello, goblin. What brings you here?”

Punk inquired expressionlessly.

“Me?”

Aidadada seemed momentarily stunned, then chuckled as if remembering something and began to speak:

“I’m here to inspect the power core. That elemental reactor has seen better days, and I think a necessary check is in order… Haha, don’t be surprised. Unlike many of my fellow goblins, I actually strongly oppose their disregard for safety in pursuit of efficiency. I, Aidadada, prioritize safety above all else, and… and if the power reactor can double its output later, it might even give my ‘Luxury Carnival’ a chance to defend itself.”

By the end, Aidadada’s voice had grown somber. However, it seemed he hadn’t entirely given up hope. Even now, though he spoke of being prepared to die with his ship, deep down, he still very much wanted to preserve the life of the ‘Luxury Carnival’ and his own.

Unfortunately, what Aidadada didn’t know was that the ‘Luxury Carnival’ goblin airship had already been transformed by Punk into a trap bomb…

Of course, Punk couldn’t allow the goblin to enter the power core now. If Aidadada saw that the elemental reactor had become an unstable bomb, the frantic goblin might cause untold chaos. So, without hesitation, Punk cast a Suggestion spell on him:

“Return to your room immediately. You are exhausted and drowsy, and what you need now is sleep… sleep without thought.”

The magic took effect instantly. The previously energetic Aidadada suddenly grew weary the very next second. He casually dropped the bundle of maintenance tools, then, with bleary eyes, bowed to Punk and stumbled drowsily toward the cabin:

“Oh, heavens, I’m so tired. I must rest, yes, rest… rest…”

“Seems the effect was a bit too strong. Let’s hope he doesn’t sleep himself to starvation.”

Watching Aidadada sway unsteadily as if about to collapse, Punk muttered to himself.

In reality, of course, Aidadada wouldn’t starve to death. Just as Punk was about to return to the banquet hall, disaster struck abruptly.

Outside the airship, the clear, cloudless sky suddenly churned with wind and clouds. The gentle breeze of a moment earlier turned violently turbulent in the next instant. Massive claps of thunder erupted abruptly across the cloud layer. The enormous goblin airship began to shake violently in an instant, and the once brilliantly sunlit sky darkened imperceptibly, as if soaked in ink.

“So it’s here, how impatient!”

Sensing the oppressive energy brewing within the clouds, a cold glint flashed in Punk’s eyes. Simultaneously, the room beside him exploded, and a flaming “fire-man” burst out from within.

“Brother Cyan, no doubt about it, it’s that fellow Monbay Windbeak. I’ve seen him once before—I’d recognize this aura anywhere.”Undoubtedly, the “fire man” who burst out at this moment was Ben Lajie. His hair and eyebrows had now transformed into blazing flames, and every deck plank he passed turned into a handful of flying ash.

Since they knew battle was imminent, the two Master-Level powerhouses had nothing more to say. Both Punk and Ben Lajie quietly began preparing their spells while waiting for Monbay Windbeak’s appearance.

The Luxury Carnival had completely lost its previous tranquility and luxury. All crew members and beautiful attendants were stunned. Experienced old sailors, recognizing the lightning serpents occasionally flashing across the sky, collapsed onto the deck in despair. The remaining people either ran around screaming incessantly or crowded anxiously around the soundly sleeping Aidadada, shouting urgently.

“What’s wrong with that guy Aidadada? I thought he’d come charging at me for a fight!”

Ben Lajie asked with some surprise after glancing at the loudly snoring Aidadada.

“He’s asleep. Suggestion. This isn’t the time to lose focus, Ben Lajie!”

Punk glared discontentedly at the fat old man who still had the mind to look around with enemies approaching.

“I know, I know. Don’t worry, my spell is ready. Anyone who dares show their face from those clouds now is in for trouble!”

Ben Lajie grinned fiercely, proudly showing Punk a white-hot energy sphere the size of a ping pong ball held in his hand, while muttering something inexplicably:

“Maybe it’s better that Aidadada’s asleep. If he saw his Luxury Carnival in this state, he’d probably die of heartbreak.”

Ben Lajie glanced regretfully at the airship. The beautiful artistic statues on board had fallen and shattered, precious oil paintings were being washed by the sudden downpour, and the entire deck was filled with the screams of panicked goblin engineers.

“Attention, here it comes.”

Sensing the increasingly violent elemental tides, Punk stared grimly at a thunderous patch of clouds.

Before Ben Lajie could respond, a torrent of storm-like violent information directly transmitted from the sky:

“Damn it, damn it!” I am Monbay Windbeak, the Sky Sovereign of the Hoth Mountains, the eternal sovereign! These mountains belong to me, to me! You insects dare violate my territory! I’ll make all you greedy bastards pay, aaaaaah!!The furious roar momentarily overwhelmed the thunderclaps. Simultaneously, a head larger than the entire Luxury Carnival emerged from the lightning-flashing clouds. Countless sharp, blade-like dark blue feathers sliced through the gathered dark clouds, lightning coiled and spiraled around enormous wings, and each movement of the massive golden beak stirred terrifying storms.

Monbay Windbeak, the terrifying monster that had ruled the Hoth Mountains for over two thousand years, finally revealed itself within the thunderclouds. The shadow of its gigantic wings even enveloped entire mountain peaks, golden eyes gleaming with bloody light, violent lightning energy making space itself tremble and crack, while howling hurricanes left the vast airspace completely devoid of air.

“Quite the big fellow, isn’t it? Look at those beautiful wings – they’d look absolutely magnificent hanging in the Magic Tower.”Ben Lajie laughed heartily against the hurricane, the Scorching Fireball in his hand growing increasingly blinding.

“Get ready, I’m about to give it a grand gift!”

From Monbay Windbeak’s frenzied mental fluctuations, Punk ruled out any possibility of negotiation. Well… since a madman had come knocking, only four words remained—a fight to the death.

With a grim expression, Punk cast two spells without hesitation:

“Metamagic – Dualcast!”
