Chapter 314 – Thunder and Explosions
Chapter 314 – Thunder and Explosions
“Metamagic – Dualcast”!
Without any hesitation, Punk immediately unleashed two spells. The first spell was Anywhere Door—a massive, colorful gate materialized directly in front of the goblin airship. As Punk channeled his mana into it, the circular portal expanded until it was large enough for the entire airship to pass through.
The other spell was the Master-Level “Kinetic Acceleration”!
This upgraded version of “Kinetic Ejection” could imbue objects with terrifying kinetic energy. Punk now directed “Kinetic Acceleration” at the entire “Luxury Carnival.”
One moment, the massive goblin airship was drifting leisurely through the sky; the next, purple energy enveloped every inch of its hull. In an instant, the Luxury Carnival shot forward like a bullet from a barrel, hurtling straight into the Anywhere Door.
The exit of the Anywhere Door opened right beside Monbay Windbeak’s wing. Caught completely off guard and already too close to the airship, Monbay Windbeak had no chance to evade the vessel, which had both its distance shortened by the portal and its speed boosted by Punk’s “Kinetic Acceleration.”
Yet the frenzied Monbay Windbeak had no intention of dodging. To him, the airship was nothing more than a flimsy little toy. Even though it was now moving at over fifty times the speed of sound, he believed a simple flap of his wings could stir a hurricane capable of tearing the “little block” to shreds.
Drunk on arrogance, Monbay made no effort to avoid the “little toy” flying beneath his wing. Instead, he gave a light flap, attempting to rip the insignificant airship apart with violent gusts.
“Perfect. Now let’s go!”
Seeing Monbay Windbeak casually swat at the airship with his wing, Punk sneered inwardly and opened a second Anywhere Door beside him.
Noticing the disdain in Punk’s azure eyes, Ben Lajie recalled Punk’s earlier remark about “having other matters to attend to.” The old man quickly caught on and chuckled, reforming the scorching energy sphere in his hand before following Punk through the portal.
Monbay Windbeak’s wings were truly immense—so vast that describing them as “blotting out the sky” would hardly be an exaggeration. The massive goblin airship seemed like a mere boat amid the feathery “tidal wave.” Lightning-wreathed wings effortlessly tore through the clouds and struck the already critically strained airship.
The next moment, the Luxury Carnival did indeed shatter into pieces—but not because of Monbay’s wing.
Watching from a safe distance, Punk saw Monbay Windbeak casually swat at the unassuming goblin airship. A faint purple glint flashed in his pupils:
“What we call art—is explosion!”As soon as Punk uttered the word “explosion,” the energy seal on the Luxury Carnival’s elemental reactor was instantly lifted. Vast amounts of magical energy, long suppressed, immediately broke free from their restraints and began violently colliding within the cramped reactor. All ether elemental crystals, catalyzed by magical materials, instantly transformed into explosive fire elements. These fire elements erupted at once, fueled by the massive amount of mana Punk had injected!
Then, Monbay Windbeak felt the “little toy” he was about to shatter suddenly unleash a wave of scorching energy. A sense of threat instantly surged in his heart.
“No, you vile outsider!”
Only then did the careless Storm Roc remember to envelop his wings with a massive amount of wind elements, but… it was too late!
The elemental chain reaction completed its energy release in a fraction of a second. An immense amount of high temperature ignited a miniature sun directly beneath the Storm Roc’s wings.
Amid the torrential rain and lightning-streaked dark clouds, a deafening roar instantly drowned out all thunder. The raging energy tide even tore through the clouds and hurricanes, causing space itself to crack under the intense vibrations! The blazing sphere of light rapidly expanded, eventually engulfing half of Monbay Windbeak’s wing.
“Ahhhhh, I’ll kill you all, I’ll kill you all! Ahhhhh!”
The Storm Roc’s furious roars echoed through the stormy skies as he screamed in agony, with bolts of lightning flashing repeatedly within spontaneously forming tornadoes.
However, neither Punk nor Ben Lajie, hovering far above, paid any attention to the Storm Roc’s threats.
Ben Lajie even chuckled while complaining to Punk:
“I say, brother Cyan, why did you have to ruin the most beautiful wing? Now it’s completely unattractive – charred black like overcooked chicken wings.”
Ben Lajie’s description was quite accurate. After Punk’s “bomb attack,” the Storm Roc’s wing had lost all its initial majestic appearance. The originally dark blue feathers instantly turned to ash, while chunks of shredded flesh mixed with charred bone scattered from the bloody hole in Monbay’s wing. Through that blackened cavity, even from a considerable distance, Punk could clearly see the cracked bone marrow within the Storm Roc’s wing.
Hmm, it appears the power exceeded my expectations. Probably because the thunder and wind elements this creature brought along participated in the energy reaction… But we can’t let our guard down yet. This fellow will likely fight desperately now.”
Punk watched cautiously as the Storm Roc thrashed about in the dark clouds. Having taken a direct hit that shattered half his wing with almost no defense, Monbay Windbeak was clearly struggling to maintain balance. His flight speed and agility would be greatly reduced – in other words, this creature basically lost any chance of escaping the joint pursuit of two Master-Level powerers.
Seeing that Monbay Windbeak seemed to realize this too and was beginning to desperately gather thunder elements for a final stand, Punk finally relaxed. His greatest concern had been this massive creature choosing to flee when overwhelmed. A Master-Level expert hiding in the shadows preparing for an ambush would be the most troublesome scenario, whereas a frenzied opponent like the current Monbay Windbeak was actually the easiest to deal with. This time, Punk didn’t need to remind him—Ben Lajie charged straight toward the injured Monbay Windbeak.
“Haha, a Stormhawk? This is excellent magical material. The exchange points for it must be quite high.”
“Damned outsiders! You’re all equally despicable and deserve to die! All of you, dieeeee!”
Hearing Ben Lajie’s brazen declaration of turning him into magical materials for sale, Monbay Windbeak seemed even more enraged. He flapped his wings forcefully, and a large amount of thunder elements began gathering above his head. Then…
“Turn to ashes amidst the thunder, you insignificant insects!”
