Chapter 460 – Dancing

Chapter 460 – Dancing

Though deeply suspicious that Punk was setting him up, Kane had to admit he was utterly helpless against Sorsend’s Demon Lord’s Projected Claw. This major problem was destined to be left for Punk to solve.

Finally, with no other choice, Kane reluctantly lifted his lance and grumbled:

“Fine, fine! Who told everyone knows I’m such a goddamn nice guy? Since you’re so confident, you bastard… I’ve got nothing more to say. But seriously, that crazy dragon’s no pushover. I’m just doing what I can, alright?”

“Doing your best is enough – as long as you’re not slacking off, Kane!”

After giving Kane a profound look and sensing Ovakain rapidly approaching underground, Punk wasted no more words. He deftly cast “Super Swiftness” on himself before turning to soar into the sky without hesitation.

Punk’s timing was precise. Almost the moment he ascended, Ovakain’s dragon head burst through the crystallized ground:

“Punk Cyan, get back here! I’ll make you pay!”

Violent shockwaves hurled chunks of rubble into the air as the gaping dragon maw began gathering another terrifying acid breath. The emerald glow reflecting off the dragon’s teeth carried boundless killing intent that seemed to coat every inch of the black dragon’s fangs.

Even with the sudden appearance of the terrifying Sub-Lord’s projection, the enraged Ovakain paid it no mind. His bloodshot eyes remained fixed solely on Punk, who had maintained his composure throughout.

The calmer the black-robed mage with crimson patterns appeared, the more Ovakain’s rage burned uncontrollably.

However… this time, Ovakain’s attack was destined to trouble Punk no further.

Just as the dragon breath was about to erupt, a sharp golden light suddenly slammed into the magical protection surrounding the black dragon. As space rippled, energy-infused fragments exploded in a circular pattern. The impact forced Ovakain’s head sideways, causing his breath to narrowly miss Punk’s back and shoot harmlessly into the distant sky.

“Ora ora ora! We’re all respectable figures here, you know? When you ignore me so blatantly, it makes me super~ pissed!”

This time, Kane honored his agreement with Punk. Seeing the black dragon emerge suddenly from underground, he immediately charged with his lance, crashing directly into Ovakain’s cheek. As expected, Ovakain – whose perception had declined due to soul injuries – failed to dodge Kane’s assault. Thus, the black dragon couldn’t engage Punk as intended. With most of his body still trapped underground, the frustrated dragon could only turn his head toward the soul-shifting knight hovering mid-air.”You despicable accomplice, do you even know what kind of demon that mage is?” Watching Kane’s frivolous expression, Ovakin nearly choked out a hoarse voice from his throat, shouting: “This is a grudge between me and Punk. Are you certain you want to aid that damned demon? Do you also wish to taste some consequences?”

Though Ovakain’s voice roared like a tempestuous gale howling from a crack in Hell, terrifying and brutal, Kane, facing the dragon directly, wouldn’t entertain unnecessary thoughts over mere threats.

In fact, before Ovakain could finish speaking, the treacherous knight had already gripped his lance, aiming for the black dragon’s left eye.

“On the surface… it seems you’ve mistaken quite a few things. First—Punk should be a half-elf, not a demon! Second… consequences? Hehehehe! No one has ever made me bear consequences yet. How much stronger do you think you are than some clueless fools, you big lizard?”

Amid Kane’s arrogant laughter, the Battle Aura concentrated at the tip of his lance suddenly erupted with a blinding white light. In the next instant, just as Ovakain raised his enchanted claws, the knight, who had been in free fall moments before, vanished abruptly in a flash of fleeting white radiance.

Although Kane’s combat profession level was only seventeenth, making him the lowest among the four Master-Level powerhouses present, in terms of true strength, Punk believed Kane was capable of holding back Ovakain. After all, the black dragon’s soul state was also quite unstable. At least for the time being, it was unlikely that the enraged Ovakain could break free from Kane to pursue him, allowing Punk to focus entirely on dealing with Sorsend during this period.

Speaking of Sorsend, though the cunning mage had concealed his presence from everyone’s perception, Punk was absolutely certain that Sorsend’s hiding spot wouldn’t be far from the Abyssal Altar!

Because in the split second before the Demon Sub-Lord’s Projected Claw slammed down, Punk had clearly seen Sorsend leap into a rune-covered magic circle. That circle, imbued with defensive capabilities and spatial concealment, wouldn’t be crushed underground by mere physical attacks. Thus, Sorsend was likely still lurking in some corner on the surface.

Now, Punk’s goal was to force Sorsend out of the magic circle once more, exposing him again on the battlefield. At that point, Punk wouldn’t need to supplement any additional attacks; he trusted that Sorsend, having expended a great deal of mana to infuse the circle, was now quite weakened. Once he emerged from the shadows… the indiscriminate assault of the Demon Sub-Lord’s Projected Claw would be enough to give the old man a hard time.

As for how to force Sorsend out of his hiding place… Punk could only say that for a prepared mage, the phrase “can’t be done” never exists in the dictionary.

Calmly lifting his head to gaze at the Demon Sub-Lord’s Projection, whose colossal claw rivaled a mountain peak, Punk’s expression remained utterly unruffled.Although the Sub-Lord named “Arath Cage” now appeared impatient—having abandoned the futile effort of twisting the rules of the Faerûn Plane to focus on the “little insects” below—Punk still had ample time. After all, he was a genuine eighteen-level Master-Level Caster, and his casting speed was by no means slow!

Watching the massive claw that stirred the winds and clouds rise high once more, Punk estimated he could fully complete his prepared maneuver and still evade a second time.

Thus, hovering mid-air, Punk outright ignored the Demon Sub-Lord’s projected claw poised for its next strike. He stood calmly atop the crimson gale, allowing his azure hair to flutter wildly in the wind.

With a slight turn of his hand, two petite, pale cyan diamonds materialized abruptly from his Storage Ring.
