Chapter 27 – Great Harvest
Chapter 27 – Great Harvest
Xiao Wuwang entered the first household.
He first went to the kitchen. Rotten meat, moldy rice—even dogs wouldn’t eat it!
After rummaging around, only a few items like iron pots and aluminum pots held some value. Taking them back to trade would likely only fetch some basic materials.
He first moved these somewhat valuable and bulky items to the roadside, planning to load them into the vehicle later.
Next, he went to the living room and bedrooms, searching through them and finding some useful items, such as lighters, alarm clocks, clothes, blankets, toilet paper, sanitary pads, toothbrushes, toothpaste, towels, soap, laundry detergent, shampoo, body wash, and more.
He didn’t have time to organize them, so he bundled all the useful items into one large package.
Fortunately, this town had only recently experienced the apocalypse, so many things hadn’t expired or completely spoiled, giving them significant reclaim value.
This might be an extra perk for newcomers.
However, when Xiao Wuwang brought out the large package, he checked the time and realized this round of gathering had taken over ten minutes.
This town had dozens of shops, not to mention residential houses. Searching them one by one would simply take too much time!
So, to maximize benefits, it was natural to prioritize houses and shops that might contain high-value items!
The most valuable of all was, of course—the Supply Crate!
This was also the fundamental purpose of Xiao Wuwang’s trip!
After placing the package directly on the ground, he headed toward the government building next to the town center square.
The Supply Crate was most likely stored there!
Entering the building, Xiao Wuwang went straight to the top floor and started searching from the rooms on the east side.
The east symbolized auspiciousness, and high-ranking officials usually preferred offices in this direction, making it the most probable location for the Supply Crate.
Sure enough, Xiao Wuwang found a luxurious office on the east side of the fifth floor.
However, this office was blocked by an extravagant and imposing wooden door.
No need to guess—there were likely several Zombies locked inside.
Among them, there should be Level 2 Zombies, possibly even more than one!
Xiao Wuwang checked his own status: 82 Fatigue Points, 46 bullets.
Even facing two Level 2 Zombies, he should be able to handle it!
Let’s do it!
Xiao Wuwang quietly approached the door, pressed his ear against it, and heard no movement inside. He gently turned the handle and slowly pushed the door open.
Using the gap in the door for Vision Range, he quickly scanned the room.
In the center of the room, there was indeed a crate emitting a faint white glow.
It really was a Supply Crate!!
But on either side of the crate stood a Brute.
Looking up, a Crawler was also clinging to the ceiling!
Additionally, about a dozen Level 1 Zombies were scattered around the room.
With such a formidable Zombie lineup guarding it, this Supply Crate was clearly not easy to obtain!
Xiao Wuwang couldn’t help but feel a sense of difficulty.
The safest approach would naturally be to go back and fetch more bullets, suppressing the threat with firepower to minimize risk.
But that would waste at least half an hour, and besides, where in the Survival World was there ever a perfectly safe environment?
In his Previous Life, he had faced countless situations far worse than this, and he had never backed down then!
Now, why was he so hesitant?
Xiao Wuwang realized he had grown somewhat complacent!
This wasn’t what he wanted!
After making his decision, a resolute glint flashed in Xiao Wuwang’s eyes.
“Thud!”
He forcefully pushed open the door, then raised his gun and fired three consecutive shots at the Crawler on the ceiling.
“Bang! Bang! Bang!”
All three shots were aimed at its head, and each one struck true.
This Crawler, just awakened, was now permanently put to rest.
The other Zombies in the room were naturally startled by the sudden commotion, emitting low growls as they slowly closed in on Xiao Wuwang.
Xiao Wuwang’s gaze remained calm as he swung the barrel of his gun, aiming at one of the Brutes.
“Bang! Bang!”
Two more precise headshots, instantly lethal.
When Xiao Wuwang tried to aim at another Brute, he was blocked by the swarming Level 1 Zombies.
Faced with so many Zombies, he wouldn’t stand his ground, instead retreating while firing.
“Bang! Bang! Bang!” Several gunshots rang out in succession, and the Level 1 Zombies at the front fell to the ground, tripping up the ones behind.
Xiao Wuwang continued to retreat, creating distance before raising his gun again.
“Bang! Bang! Bang!”
Three more headshots, and three more Level 1 Zombies collapsed.
“Roar!”
A loud roar suddenly erupted from the back of the Zombie horde, and two Level 1 Zombies at the front were shoved aside by a tremendous force.
The last Brute had finally revealed itself!
“Bang! Bang…”
Xiao Wuwang locked onto the Brute and held down the trigger without letting go.
Only when the magazine was empty, emitting a “crackle” sound, did he sling the rifle over his back and draw the pistol from his waist.
After the earlier barrage from the rifle, the Brute had naturally long been slain, along with two or three Level 1 Zombies beside it.
Only four or five Level 1 Zombies remained active on the scene.
“Bang!”
“Bang!”
…
With a gun in hand, Level 1 Zombies were no different from free points in Xiao Wuwang’s eyes.
He used only five bullets to eliminate the last five Level 1 Zombies.
Looking at the corpses strewn across the floor, Xiao Wuwang felt not the slightest ripple of emotion.
“Did I perhaps underestimate my own strength?”
Three Level 2 Zombies and over a dozen Level 1 Zombies—he had expected a fierce battle, yet he had resolved it so effortlessly, without even exhausting the final 46 bullets.
“This must be because he started with Combat Mastery and Firearms Mastery from the very beginning, placing him far above ordinary people!”
It was only the second day, and he had already cleared a Level 2 Slaughter Platform. Now, nothing could stop him from scavenging the entire town’s supplies!
Once he absorbed these resources, how much stronger would he become?
It was almost unimaginable!
This was perhaps the truest embodiment of the saying: the strong only grow stronger!
Xiao Wuwang shook off his thoughts, returned to the office, and directly stored the Supply Crate into his Portable Space.
He then began searching the office again.
To his delight, in a hidden compartment of the desk, he found another Type 92 pistol along with two fully loaded magazines.
Upon closer inspection, it was a Level 0 Excellent Quality pistol, capable of being upgraded to Level 1 at most. Xiao Wuwang felt slightly disappointed—this gun was of little use to him.
However, it could fetch a good price if sold!
Level 1 firearms were long-range weapons capable of threatening Level 2 Monsters. He believed many would be willing to buy one even at the cost of everything they owned.
Next, Xiao Wuwang’s gaze shifted to the computers.
Computers and electronic products can be reclaimed for electronic components, which are essential for many future technological equipment and train upgrades. Xiao Wuwang naturally wouldn’t pass up these resources.
One by one, computers were stored in his Portable Space, broken down, and converted into electronic components.
These computers were relatively intact, with each yielding approximately 1–3 electronic components.
After searching the entire office building, Xiao Wuwang obtained a total of 226 electronic components!
This batch of electronic components alone was already a significant haul!
Along the way, he also found a set of solar panels with matching batteries, as well as an intact mountain bike.
With the solar panels, his train would be able to use electricity in the future.
The mountain bike was also a practical tool, though unfortunately, Xiao Wuwang only managed to ride it back to the station once before it ran out of fuel.
Xiao Wuwang dumped everything he brought back this trip onto the Armament Carriage.
For now, he had no time to organize it, as there were more important matters to attend to.
Xiao Wuwang went to the Living Carriage and checked his Fatigue Points—still at 72.
He took out the Supply Crate, stared at it for a while, and finally decided to trigger his Talent on it!
