Chapter 108: Obtaining the Heavenly Father Altar Fragment

Chapter 108: Obtaining the Heavenly Father Altar Fragment

With a gun in hand, I rule the world.

Kamiyu had a gun in her own hands, and she declared, “Who’s afraid of whom? Level 50? Let me take a shot first.”

Who would have thought that with a “boom,” she actually blasted out the “Final Dungeon Boss.”

At that moment, a deep, resonant bell sound echoed from the cathedral, shaking Kamiyu to her core. White-gold feathers fell from the sky, and the surroundings began to distort and change.

“Aha, now you can’t deny you’re a monster. It seems I’ve stumbled into a Little Thunderclap Temple—this is a fake Holy Light Cathedral. Goodness, they even dare to open an Instance Dungeon right in the center of the Main City,” Kamiyu thought to herself.

“Huh? Why has everyone frozen in place?” Kamiyu noticed the varied expressions on everyone’s faces.

“Human, you have passed my trial.” A majestic, divine male voice, brimming with authority, came from behind Kamiyu.

Startled by the sudden sound, she quickly turned around.

“No way, this is too much,” Kamiyu exclaimed, her eyes wide open.

For she witnessed a Divine Miracle: Heavenly Father Inarius descending upon the Crimson Earth.

At that moment, Kamiyu could see the Heavenly Father’s face, though he wore a tattered dark-gold mask. His entire body was clad in shattered armor inlaid with black and gold rare metals.

Kamiyu observed the ancient bloodstains and skull decorations on the armor. Behind the Heavenly Father were not traditional wings but six glowing tentacles, stretching and retracting in mid-air, creating an eerie and unsettling sight.

Deep down, she couldn’t shake the feeling that this Heavenly Father was not a good person—no, not a good deity.

Unconsciously, Kamiyu tightened her grip on the gun in her hand and looked up at Heavenly Father Inarius.

The mask obscured the Heavenly Father’s expression, making it impossible for Kamiyu to gauge her own safety from his demeanor.

“Human, put down your futile weapon. All your Supernatural Abilities originate from me and cannot harm me,” Inarius said.

Kamiyu did not comply. If she were the obedient, docile type, she would have died long ago in the 72-hour Deathmatch Game.

She chuckled and said, “How would I know without trying?”

Inarius raised his tone slightly and replied, “Interesting. As expected of the one I chose.”

Kamiyu didn’t dwell on it further. She had long outgrown that phase of constantly asking, “Why me?” “Why was I chosen?” “Why do I have to do this?”—the cringeworthy teenage years.

When faced with difficulties or enemies, just shoot them and be done with it. No need for pointless chatter.

“Just tell me, what do you want from me? And why all this secrecy?” Kamiyu took the initiative, turning the tables.

Kamiyu thought gleefully to herself, “Since he chose me, I must have something special. There must be a task assigned to me, and now I can start bargaining.”

“Take my Altar fragment and rebuild Seriga,” Inarius said, raising both hands.

“And what’s in it for me?” Kamiyu showed none of the fervor of a fanatic.

Let’s not forget, Kamiyu was someone who never acted without benefit. She wouldn’t just accept empty promises.

“Human, this is your honor. In the past, thousands would have given their lives to compete for this supreme honor,” Inarius said, tilting his head upward.

“You keep talking about the past, but this is the 21st century—an era of rampant materialism and moral decay. Your old ways are outdated,” Kamiyu pointed out bluntly.

Heavenly Father looked down at Kamiyu, remaining silent for a long while.

Kamiyu couldn’t guess his expression through the dark golden mask.

After a long pause.

“Greedy human, I have seen into your heart. You are an exceedingly greedy person.” It turned out Inarius had been “scanning” Kamiyu’s thoughts just now.

“Thank you,” Kamiyu didn’t argue, openly admitting it.

That was just how she was—better to be a genuine scoundrel than a hypocrite. If she liked something, she liked it; if she wanted something, she wanted it. She never deceived herself.

“I will give you a gift even greater than Sanctuary—Altar fragments. Use them to rebuild Main City Seriga, and after that, Seriga will belong to you. I will not establish an Altar there,” Inarius stated clearly.

Kamiyu’s eyes lit up. A Main City—Heavenly Father was giving her a Main City.

So, Heavenly Father had only wanted her to rebuild Seriga before, with the city belonging to him afterward. But after her “bargaining,” Heavenly Father had granted her ownership of Seriga.

My god, a Main City—she would become the city lord, surpassing all current Players. The most powerful Players only had Sanctuaries, but she would own a Main City.

Though she hadn’t heard of anything special about Seriga, she knew what a Main City looked like.

Before Kamiyu could express her gratitude, Inarius continued, “Seriga’s geographical location is extremely important. Originally, it was a crucial military fortress used to suppress the 【Hell Deep Pit】, also known as the Greater Rift.”

“Now it has fallen, becoming a Demon nest.”

“In your human terms, Players who Clear the Hell Deep Pit can obtain a large amount of exclusive rare materials unavailable in other Instance Dungeons.”

“This perfectly aligns with the needs of the Talent I have bestowed upon you.” Inarius made sure to explain clearly, fearing Kamiyu might refuse.

“So, rebuild Seriga, secure the Hell Deep Pit for myself to farm, then supply resources to all human Players to resist and fight back against the Hell Tide,” Kamiyu summarized.

“Exactly, and Seriga’s other values far exceed your imagination,” Inarius said.

“But what if I give the Weapon to someone else, and they use the Weapon I gave them against me, taking my position as city lord?” Kamiyu questioned.

Weapons were inanimate, but people were alive. Kamiyu couldn’t control what others did.

“Kill them,” Inarius summarized in two words.

“Wow, that ruthless?” Kamiyu widened her eyes, feeling this Heavenly Father was far more ruthless than she was.

Indeed, in the main storyline of the game, Inarius dared to strike even his wife and children.

“Alright, I accept this mission. But right now, I need to defend the city first. If I can’t even hold Kaijistan, then I clearly don’t have the strength to capture a city occupied by Demons,” Kamiyu said.

Inarius took out a blue Octahedral Crystal from the void and said, “I will not mistreat any warrior who defends the city. This is the Heavenly Father Altar fragment. It collects the screams and wails of Aberrant Beast Demons at the moment of their Death.”

“Fill this crystal with the hatred of Aberrant Beast Demons, and you will gain the qualification to become a city lord.”

“Wow, that sounds amazing,” Kamiyu said aloud.

But in her heart, she quietly thought, “What a stingy Heavenly Father, giving me an empty bottle and making me clear monsters before I can build a Main City.”

Still, this counted as an advance reward, and it had nothing to do with points.

She could still use points to exchange for the Altar of Lilith and other items.

When the time came, she would be the most powerful player. So what if Lei Yao had two Sanctuaries? She would have one Sanctuary plus a Main City.
